Movement down below broke his attention on the moon hanging so low in the sky this evening. It appeared that the university headmaster accompanied by a priest of all people was strolling out together towards the the dorms. That was extremely odd, not only because he had only ever seen the Headmaster during official functions and gatherings, but also because the school had always had a very strong scientific background and majority of the higher staff had made their own lack of faith readily apparent. When the rumors of some type of angelic war had come around, the staff had not even bothered to acknowledge them, they found it so ridiculous. But there they were a priest and the headmaster coming towards his dorm area.

Will kept his eyes of the priest watching his steady approach. There was something about the man that set his hair on edge, some sort of tremble in his chest that spoke of danger. He put his hand on his own chest and felt a vibration where stone fused heart resides in his chest. It was almost like the stone was repulsed away from it almost like a magnet. His mind filled with the need to escape, to hide, to run away from the bispectacled priest. Somehow, in a way that Will could not understand the man was dangerous. He could feel the flames running in his veins now already building in response to the increased adrenaline in his system. He grabbed his backpack and stuffed in a few of his essential supplies including the small amount of objects he had accidentally warped, with the exception of the front doorknob and lock. He rushed out into the night quietly making his way away from the approaching pair and out the exit through the courtyard on the other side.

He crouched slightly so he wouldn't be seen down on the ground floor and quickly entered in staircase down, taking the steps two at a time. He exited and entered into the courtyard. He began moving in a hurry straightforward, but as he did so felt a massive pull or maybe push towards his left hand side. His legs reacted on instinct turning him quickly and causing him to run into someone who had been walking and humming in the courtyard. He fell backwards and landed on his rear end with a slight "Oof!" of impact.

Will rose quickly and lifted his extremely warm hand out towards the girl in a attempt to help lift her off if she choose to accept it. "I am so sorry about that! I don't know what happened..." A cloud drifted lazily through the night sky and a ray of moonlight hit the girls head. Will felt a thrum from the stone residing in his chest that carried through all of his body. It was a sense of ...familiarity? Maybe longing? Whatever the feeling it had not come from Will.

He looked at the girl again and gently spoke, "You are moonlight." He said this was no sense of question in his tone, but as a statement of irrevocable fact. He shook his head, perturbed by these new sensations and moved into a more brusque tone. "Come with me. Someone dangerous is coming."
@Nikki Moonlight Okay great I can work with that! Thanks for letting me know!
@Nikki Moonlight do you know the general area you are walking around? If it's nearby I can have Will interact with you which will hopefully give you more material for your next post
I would like #3 first because it seems some of us have already started to do so- I wrote some references to it as well in my last post and then after we got a little more familiar then #2
Will lifted his head out of his hands and examined the area around him. Releasing the flames in the water seemed to have negated damaging any of the surrounding environment. Luckily for him, the water had prevented the flames from actually forming meaning that the expenditure had only given off boiling bubbles of water that quickly disappeared rather than any light that might have attracted someone's attention to his surroundings. He placed his hand on the damp sand beneath and pushed up on it, lifting his now dry body. One of the many side-effects of his ability was that he would never stay wet for long it seemed. The area around Lake Michigan seemed rather quiet as well, however his eyes fell on a Mexican restaurant and he felt a sudden bizarre craving for Mexican food. His feet actually took a few steps forward on their own, before he paused.

He reached into his pocket, pulled out his wallet, and peered into its contents. He replaced the wallet with a sigh. 'I doubt three dollars would get me much of anything. Besides I have leftover pasta from yesterday back home. When did I start liking Mexican food this much anyway?' Reluctantly he turned away from the tempting proposition, got in his car and started to drive back towards his dorm. As he left, several police cars zoomed past him with their sirens on heading somewhere by the beach.

As Will arrived at his front door he went through his daily struggle of attempting to open the damn thing. One of his closer encounters had left the doorknob and locking mechanism slightly warped making it a daily annoyance. He doubted his roommates on the other side of the small apartment style dorm room noticed. Finn and Teri were far more interested in one another to pay much attention to Will or their surroundings. Still, they were clean and polite enough so a decent pair of noise canceling headphones did not seem like to large a price to pay. He entered the door to his own room and flopped onto his bed. He felt exhausted, like every day since he had touched that thing. It had vanished when he had woken up, but he could feel it inside of him somehow merged with his own heart.

His resistance to its urges was taking a toll on him with an increasing cost every day. It may not have been so bad if it was possible to talk to someone about what had happened to him, but how could he put their safety at risk like that? He had to push away his friends fearing that some small annoyance could lead to one of them getting seriously injured. He moved out by the window feeling compelled to look up at the moon hanging so lovely in the sky and sighed.
Will sat in a lecture hall tapping his leg impatiently at the University of Chicago while his professor talked about his latest findings at a dig site in Egypt. It concerned a location important to 18th dynasty of Ancient Egypt, a rather interesting, yet brief period where Egyptians went from a polytheistic religion to a monotheistic one due to the actions of one pharaoh. There was a huge shift in culture easily seen in the art with more elongated, alien bodies that did not seem to be truly human. The god they worshiped, Aten, had been around for a while but only gained popularity for that period of rule, before things reverted right back to a more traditional polytheistic culture. Aten was first described in The Story of Sinhue where a man rose up to the sun, Aten, and merged with it. Will shifted uncomfortably in his seat. This topic would normally fascinate him, however given his own present circumstances it hit much too close to home.

He could feel it swirling around inside him, burning through his veins like lava, calling for its release around the world around him. A bead of sweat rolled down the tip of his nose and dropped with a barely audible plop onto the paper notebook in front of him. He rose suddenly grabbing his things and headed out of the room, ignoring the feel of the professor's eyes on the back of his neck as best as he could. 'I will have to explain that to her later. And think of some sort of explanation that she will accept... again. Damnit!' He ran over to the nearest restroom, stuck his head under the sink and turned the cold water on as high as he could. He yelped as the initial shock of cold hit his head and sizzled atop his skin. He rested there awkwardly letting water the cool him off. 'This can't go on. I have missed so many classes, my GPA is the gutter, and I KEEP LIGHTING THINGS ON FIRE! I wish I had never seen that damn rock. But the worst part by far... I almost want it all to bur-' He cut off the thought quickly and pulled his head out from underneath the sink, shaking his hair slightly to get out some of the droplets. 'I have to get out of here.'

He moved into his father's old car and instantly felt better. While his father had passed away, when he had first entered college after a long bout with cancer, this car was a core piece of his father's identity. Perhaps it was the memories that they had shared inside of it or the way that nothing ever seemed to get out the scent of his father's constantly over-applied cologne, but it never failed to make him feel better about what was going on in his life. Still, he knew it was a temporary reprieve at best and that the flames would escape him some way or another. He started the vehicle, and moved out of his space heading towards a relatively secluded spot by Lake Michigan. He cranked up the AC to its coldest setting and blew it as hard as his car could. He pulled off to the side of the road and hurried down to the shoreline. He nervously looked around and pulled off his clothes folding on the ground. He quickly entered to cold water and waded out past the point where his feet could no longer touch the ground. He dived down into the water and finally let go his barely held control of the raging hell-fire inside of him. Heat blossomed out around him boiling it around him, the heat sustained itself for two minutes before it stopped. He burst his head above the water and gulped down as much air to his empty lungs as he possibly could.

He swam back towards the shore, still panting, and put his clothes back on still sopping wet. If he had left them on, they would have been destroyed almost instantly. He sat down on the shore line and put his head in his hands. This was only a temporary measure, the need to release the flames came more and more frequently. It was a only a matter of time before someone got hurt around him, and he was not sure that he could handle it.
@KatherinWinter I think Chicago is a great place to start off! Large amount of environment all around and easy to get around. I will post up soon then!
@KatherinWinter Great thanks for the clarification! And I assume we all live in the same area? Or are we all joining up somehow?
@KatherinWinter So what is the setting here? Is it modern day or post apoc? do regular people acknowledge the existence of devils and angels?
@KatherinWinter Already done!
