It had been a while since the whole alien incident in New York occurred, Stark Towers needed some repairs after it but thankfully it hadn't taken too long for things to return back to normal. Pepper still ran Stark Industries, but somehow she managed to slip time in for Tony. Course he was still up to no good, may it be disappearing for missions or working on his toys. A soft sigh escaped past her lips as Pepper caught him asleep again on the sofa in his messy work room. She had insisted on placing a couch there considering how he refused to return to his room to sleep, she figured that seeing a couch would be a lot more tempting than falling asleep at the table. She had just finished up work at SI that she'd drop by to drop off documents that Tony would need to review over for the meeting, instead she found him asleep for once. Usually he wasn't asleep until three own wards.

Shaking her head she returned back to the couch with a blanket as she gently set it over him. She left the documents on the table before leaving his workroom so she could return home. Tony had offered that she live with him at Stark Tower in New York, but work simply wouldn't allow it. She was visiting him for a week before she needed to return back to CA to handle SI. The distance had been a little hard, but it couldn't be helped. He was busy saving the world and he had avenger duties to handle anyways.

It had taken years for Pepper to get used to this kind of stress. No one would have been able to prepare her for the kind of behavior Tony had, especially not when she first started working for him. She had called his phone non-stop and of course it was off. She knew it was possible for it to have run out of battery, not with JARVIS handling small issues like that. Then again it was Tony she was dealing with. He probably just had JARVIS turn it off when it first started ringing. Groaning with slightly annoyance the glass doors to his workroom had opened and she entered. He was still on the sofa, the only difference was that the blanket was on the floor. Letting out a sigh she walked over and crouched down as she shook his shoulder. "Tony, get up," she called out before giving him another rough shake. They were going to be late for their meeting, it was rather important since it was going to be further discussions on what SI would be advancing in. Her strawberry hair had been tied neatly into a neat bun as she wore her usual work clothes.

((It’s alright, sorry to hear that you’re ill. :( I hope you get well soon. Don’t worry too much about replies if you’re busy.))

Despite sleeping in such an uncomfortable position she was able to have pleasant dreams. She hadn’t heard Mary come in nor did she hear Mathias wake up either. She however wasn’t given long to rest since she had been woken up a little later on by Mathias. Her eyes fluttered open as she found herself staring at Mathias with confusion. It felt way too early to be awake, then again she had slept rather late given the fact that she had woken up in the middle of the day. She let out a yawn having been able to smell the fresh glass of orange juice he had brought over for her. “Evening already?” she croaked out as she gave him a tired smile. Gently she reached over for the juice though that only resulted in the book falling off her lap and onto the floor. "Um Mathias, we could take turns driving if you're still tired," she knew that he probably didn't get enough rest especially with her waking him up and complaining about her night terrors.

The cold glass touched her lips as she took a sip, sighing with content she set it back so she could have her sandwich. It wasn’t necessary that she eat but she had enjoyed the food from yesterday so there was no doubt in her mind that it would be delicious. “Thanks for bringing it to me,” she mentioned before she started on her sandwich. Munching it down quickly she then got out of bed so she could get changed. It was twenty minutes later that she left the room seeing that Mathias was already outside with the others. “Evening,” she called out only to feel Mary pounce on her. “Evon! You were sleeping weird just now,” she added having mentioned how Evon was practically sleeping upright since she had been reading. “Ah I was reading,” she replied before patting the girl on the head. “So are we all ready to go now?” Gerald asked. Mary had packed along a few of her stuff animals and things as she was left by the entrance. Evon had been a little curious about the woman who had trespassed, the bunker was rather big so it was unlikely she would see her, still she wondered if she was still here or not.
Evon gave him a weak smile when he mentioned her parents knowing how much she loved them, she was a little sadden that he wanted to sleep but she had been selfishly keeping him awake. He was right, it was best he sleep since he would have to drive tomorrow and it seemed like there was no room for her to ask if she could drive. Sighing softly she nodded, “Sorry I woke you up,” she mentioned as she watched him take his robe off. Evon waited for a bit before standing as she moved over to a small shelf, there were a few books so she decided on reading something until she got tired again. She wanted to take her mind off things so reading was the best option. Returning back to bed she sat up and quietly began reading, it didn’t take her long to get engrossed with the story, it had been about a human girl growing up in the olden times. It was a unique view since she didn’t know much about history.

When evening came Mary had been outside knocking eagerly at the door as she waited for someone to respond. Eventually she opened the door and found Evon sleeping upright with a book on her lap, “It’s evening,” she spoke out knowing they needed to get up early so she figured she’d come in. She would have loved to pounce on both of them but seeing Evon sleep in such a way gave it away that she had slept late.
((Ahh sure, wow I’m glad you thought of something up. I was thinking about it but I couldn’t come up with anything D: ))

Evon listened quietly to him, only to blink with surprise. He had a child? A Dhampir? It was forbidden so it was only surprising to hear, but at the same time it was saddening. Shaking her head she wrapped her arms around him apologizing softly, she felt rather bad that she had been feeling miserable when Mathias clearly had his own pain. “I know,” she muttered in reply, “I try not to regret, I always tell myself that I couldn’t do anything, but this guilt keeps coming back without me realizing.” She mumbled before wiping her tears as she rested her head against his chest. “I wish I could have told them how much I loved them,” she added softly before closing her eyes again. She felt a little bad that she was keeping him awake at this time of day.
Evon gave a light chuckle, “How could I forget?” she replied before moving to sit down on the bed. It seemed like he wanted to talk to her or perhaps listen to her since it was obvious he knew about her nightmares. She leaned against him, “I wish I had stayed at home that night, father was so insistent that I go out,” she muttered softly though she sounded quite sad about it. Even if they had saved her life by forcing her out she thought that perhaps there could have been something she could have done. She felt tears roll down her cheek, “I feel so guilty,” she whispered before turning her face and pressing it against him.
It didn’t take Evon long to throw up, just remembering how her mother and father looked was horrid. The thought of blood was unbearable to think about that she couldn’t stop her body from lurching. Her stomach continued to try and empty it’s contents despite how there was nothing inside, they had small stomachs since it was meant for blood but still their digestive rates were incredibly fast. When she finally managed to stop herself she moved herself back, seated down as she was leaning against the wall staring at the toilet blankly. “Why did I have to go out?” she asked herself softly before closing her eyes. She felt so much regret from that one night that it was no wonder that these dreams had such an impact on her.

She spent ten minutes in the bathroom before finally coming out, having washed her face and wiped her mouth. Though she blinked with surprise at seeing Mathias seated on the bed with a robe on. Immediately she looked apologetic for clearly having woken him up in the middle of the day. “I’m sorry, did I wake you up?” she asked with a weak smile. She figured he had heard her throwing up which of course would have worried anyone.
Evon nodded before smiling when he mentioned the two of the sharing the same idea. Though her smile hadn't lasted long as he had mentioned Isabel. She knew that he had good intentions by bringing her up, it had hurt her the time he had mistaken her for her and it would obviously hurt again if he were to make that same mistake, but still it was a bit of a reminder that he was still thinking about her. “Ah I’ll keep that in mind, who knows maybe I’ll even push you off the bed,” she jokingly mentioned before yawning. Without speaking much she turned onto her side facing away as she buried her face into the pillow. The bed was surprisingly soft, she had assumed that it was unused but it seemed far too soft to have been new. “Night Mathias,” she murmured before closing her eyes. She had stayed up a little bit but she didn’t really want to make things awkward between them.

“Evon? You aren’t going out?” her mother asked softly having noticed Evon back in the kitchen. “Nope, it’s just some stupid party, I rather stay and just eat,” she replied as she searched the fridge in hopes of finding her mother’s leftover food she made the previous night. “Evon, you should go out tonight. You rarely do enjoy yourself,” her father spoke. Evon pouted in return as she sighed though just as she turned around everything had gone dark. The lights in the kitchen were off and the table had been knocked down. Shattered glass covered the floors as she stood there in shock. “Dad?” she called out though it continued to remain silent, without thinking she began looking around. Seconds had passed until she found corpses just as she did before, gasping with shock she shot up in bed breathing rather hard. The first thing that had come to her head was the very fact that they were murdered, it felt so fresh that she had the urge to call someone, but she knew the incident had happened long ago. The urge to puke was present as well, slipping out of bed she put on the robe as she quickly entered the bathroom.
Evon cheered him up as he continued to press randomly though on the screen it seemed like he knew what he was doing since he was dealing a fair amount of damage on Mary’s character. Evon had probably gotten a little too intense with it as she was sitting on the edge of her seat with her eyes fixed on the screen. Immediately she cheered as Mathias managed the combo Mary’s character, “Ya! He totally kicked your butt!” she shouted happily as she heard him set the controller down. Evon had found it rather cute the way Mary was pouting since she was obviously used to winning her. Evon shook her head, “Nope, you’re going again Mathias, no way I can beat this girl,” she spoke before laughing softly at the amusement of losing to a little girl like Mary.

When they had their fill of fun, Evon found herself yawning since it was growing quite late. The sun would be up soon and she knew that they had to wake up early in the evening to leave again. Playing games and having a fun time in the pool had obviously taken it’s toll on Mary since she looked tired and insisted on sleeping, so the two of them said their goodnight to Mary before returning back to their room. Once inside Evon got some of her clothes and moved to the bathroom to get changed into a sleeping gown. Evon could be found resting in bed, she wanted to lie down for a bit to calm her mind from all the games before she slept and it seemed like Mathias had the same idea. She hadn't braided her hair since she wasn't very good at it so she figured it would be fine to sleep with it let down though it would need a good brushing when evening came. “Not tired yet?” she asked.
Evon was screaming as she played intensely with Mary, she was of course losing a fighting game. It was odd that Mary was even good at this kind of game in the first place. Evon was rather close to beating Mary, but of course in the end she had failed. Just as she did Mathias had knocked and come in, Evon smiled as watched him pull a chair over to beside the couch. “I keep losing to her,” Evon joked as she placed the controller in Mathias’ lap. “So you need to help me get her off her high horse,” she spoke as Mary smirked, “Well gooood luck with that! That’s no easy task!” she said with confidence. Evon smiled as she turned to Mathias showing him the controls incase he hadn’t heard of this game. She wasn’t really sure Mathias could do it but it was still fun to have another player, this game also allowed players up to four so Evon could join in after this round. “Ready… Fight!” Was heard from the TV along with Mary’s intensive button pressing as her character hit Mathias’s viciously. Mary had done a brilliant job in distracting Evon since she was completely engrossed in this game. "Press X!" Evon said to Mathias as she watched his character on the screen.
