It's more mobile friendly than PiratePad, but I don't know how good it is.

Not to distract from the melancholic tone, but I have some good news: I am working on setting up my own private Etherpad install, so we will not have to rely on PiratePad anymore.
I've almost got it working, just a couple of kinks to work out. It will have many extra features - advanced formatting, spellcheck, all sorts of nice things.
I'll post a link here when it's ready. Hopefully very soon.
