You want more'n a thousand words out of me then I'd advise my hourly rate might be more reasonable than the per-word.

Alright, concept decided for next convention RP: your unit is charged with testing a prototype necromech with a mysterious new component in the war against the vampires.

Bio

Lifetime GM. I run horror, dark fantasy, sci-fantasy. All players welcome, as long as you engage with the material.
You can, I think, tell a lot about me based on my blog
I will reference Disco Elysium and no one can stop me.

@Excession I do not have a better idea right now but I am also not home currently and therefor don't have much brain space to think on it. I have to look over the ideas I listed again and narrow it down. And I like to know what others chose and perhaps what ship we chose (I think the bio-ship is locked in?).

We went with Necroshipin the end!
But there's no hurry at all, I just don't want to leave anyone behind. Look it over when you have the energy.
For your convenience:
Our illustrious Goblin captain
An exile Troll seer
A wandering Elemental Monk
A Lybarim doctor
You may enjoy this game if you like: K6BD, WarFrame, the Firefall novels, Farscape.
This game will be for 4-6 players; amnesiac warrior-mages permanently sealed into their cybernetic armour.
The mechanics are easy enough to learn, a dice-pool system that's simple to use but has mechanical depth if you want to engage with it.
No prior experience with this game or dice games required. All skill levels welcome.
One post a week is ideal, once a month is acceptable.
No set post length - just post what you feel is necessary to move things along.
If you want to discover and explore a unique space opera setting inspired by Warframe, starting with a near-blank slate of a character recovering their memories of the world they lost while learning about the new one and their place in it, you may enjoy this.
If you want to play a powerful space ninja wizard, you may also enjoy this.

Once, there was an Empire.

It stretched from the temple-cities of the homeworld to the furthest stars. It was built upon wonders of magitech that bent physics to their whim and laughed at the interstellar gulf.

It was a time of peace and enlightenment. No one now remembers what it was really like, but we know it was glorious - and it was lost.

The Others came screaming out of Elsewhere, a dimension where reason and science failed, and tore apart the works of the Magi.

The war raged for a century or more, and the Magi could not prevail, barely able to fend off the Others no matter how many weapons of apocalyptic might they forged. Both they and their mysterious enemies are gone now, perhaps having destroyed each other.

Centuries later, the Palatial system is in chaos, and the colonies around distant stars are forgotten. No living Magi remain and their various inheritors squabble for power, with innocents descended from colonial settlers caught in the crossfire or eking out an existence amid the ruins.

And across the system, hidden in ancient stasis-vaults and armoury-temples, you sleep; the Bandi. the elite warrior caste of the Magi. Peerless fighters and sorcerous adepts, encaged in mystical armour.
Now you're waking up to a world you no longer recognize, your memories corroded and lost - to time, or to tampering? The Magi are gone. Your culture is lost. All that remains is the terrible fire of Will and the sword-wisdom of your augmented body.

Will you take up the mantle of rule, as inheritor to the Magi?
Will you resume your role as protectors to the weak and innocent?
Or are you the killing strike to a universe sickly and faltering?

Post interest and ask questions below!
No problem.

Wouldn't mind everyone putting posts in the Character section with a link to the gdoc and maybe the text of their character writeup.
It'll help everyone settle on their place, I think, and we can start considering how you all met and why you're working together.
Remember- strong personal motivations for your character are important. I have an overarching plot in mind but this isn't just my show, we're here together.

@Benzaiten, do you have a better idea of what you'd like to play? Still want help with the mechanics?

Hmm I'll link my quick reference mechanics sheet in the first post.
<Snipped quote by Excession>

I get why the first four would sever the connection, what with them being magic and all, but why does joining the anti-magic organization also do that?

Editing artifact from a time when the Inquisition operated on different mechanics. Joining the Inquisition now is just cause for exile as they're a foreign org and it's seen as a dereliction of a Troll's spiritual duty
Updated the setting info doc with details of the actual Stormspires, for the interested.

If anyone has observations, questions, or criticisms about the setting so far feel free to share.
If anyone needs a bit of structure for their mechanical sheet while I bash my head on the coding you can use this.
Not at all; the party exists for a reason.
Unfortunate but understandable. I'm sure I'll pitch something else they might find of interest in the new future, once this one is up and running.
I'm still lurking btw. Waiting for other people to pick their characters. Eventually I will need assistance making a character sheet though.

That's A-ok - I can even do the mechanics for you, once you have the writeup.

So far we have:
Our illustrious Goblin captain
An exile Troll seer
A wandering Elemental Monk
A Dryad Necromancer, yes? (I suggest you go with a Yew Dryad; the Crantiré are as you might notice a bit Irish-flavoured, and the Yew is associated with death in our pre-Christian culture).

EDIT: @TaintedMushroom - still want to be ship's doctor?

I'm convinced I'm missing someone who hasn't posted for a little while, too.
Very good. Apparently everyone is using the second person now.
That is the most focused list of Skills I've ever seen. Gonna do the math on this later just to be sure you're not short anything.

Also after some thought, Gobs get Health 12 and Condition 30.
Those jackets are worth +2 Soak
The guns do a base of 4 Damage, penetrating 3 soak, and each additional success on a hit represents another round from the burst hitting the target.
