You want more'n a thousand words out of me then I'd advise my hourly rate might be more reasonable than the per-word.

Alright, concept decided for next convention RP: your unit is charged with testing a prototype necromech with a mysterious new component in the war against the vampires.

I can work with two feds and a local, although a 4th player would be nice.
Brace for a main thread.
Will schmoove things along tomorrow. I'm just trying to remember a cool scene transition I thought of in the shower.
Giving this another bump just in case.
It's spooky season so I'm returning to my deepest genre love; horror.
This a slow-burn horror game for up to six players.
2 local deputies
2 state police
2 FBI agents.
Uses the Chronicles of Darkness system. No prior experience of any kind necessary.
No post length requirements. No 'literacy' requirements.

Wilton, Maine, September 2015

Wilton’s not a big town, tucked away amid the mountains and deep forests of northern Maine. Only way there’s by a just-about-maintained road north of Bangor, and then you’re in the woods. “We were here first,” those primeval boles declare. “We’ll be here at the end.”

Abigail Chapman, age 15, went missing at the start of Summer. Her body was found near a hiking trail at the end of August. The Sheriff’s Office haven’t released any details; active investigation, afterall. Emily Fontenot, aged six, and Tony Daigneau, aged 19, have been missing since mid-August, and with confirmation of Abigail’s death, well…

Sheriff Edmond suspects Daigneau and everyone knows it - he’s an Acadian boy, and no good citizen of Maine trusts those forest-dwellers. Rumour has it Mayor Norwood doesn’t expect Edmond to find that missing kid, and has made a call to Washington.

Wilton’s a town of about two-thousand souls and a half-dozen Deputies to keep the peace, with a little help from Maine State Police, and now two agents from the Eff-Bee-Aye are coming to tell ‘em how to do their job?

Not on Jack Edmond’s watch.

To make matters worse, it’s getting colder now. Weather’s got a temper. Won’t be long before a Fall storm hits, say the old timers. Won’t be long before the tourists go back to the city. Won’t be long before snow starts closing off roads to the outside world.

Can this case be closed while Wilton is still on the map?

Alright folks, this won’t be an entirely straightforward murder mystery. I won’t spoil anything, but it’s gonna get weird.

And it is very definitely going to be a horror show. Content warnings abound for disturbing scenes and violence.

Did you enjoy Stranger Things? You might want to sign up.

I want characters to be: 2 FBI agents, at least 2 Maine State Police, and at least 1 Wilton Deputy.

I’ll take no more than six characters and won’t hesitate to kill any of them if they do anything appropriately foolhardy.

I intend to use Chronicles of Darkness with some tweaks - prior experience is helpful but not mandatory; it’s not hard for newbies to learn and I'll do all the teaching.

We’ll be starting with the agent’s arrival in Wilton. If you’re playing a Deputy or even a State Police officer, I strongly encourage you to think about some nice human drama for citizens of Wilton; NPCs your character has crossed or wronged, NPCs who have wronged them, misunderstandings or old family grudges. I expect everyone to treat this maturely, however dark it gets.
Sorry, things have been a bit complicated lately and I got overwhelmed and kinda just wanted to hide. Bad move on my part, I'm sorry, I shouldn't be blowing you guys off though.

But yes I could probably use a hand on the last bits of my sheet, the mechanics definitely confused me after my last attempt.

No worries, life happens.
I think you have enough backstory to be posting with, and in the meantime, if you want to give me a nice concrete idea of ya boy's weaknesses, interests, and aptitudes I can put an example spread on a sheet for you. Doctorin' seems obvious but if you think he'd have a specialty or anything let me know.
Wugh, I still gotta tidy up mine a bit and figure out something to call him. But, I shall, without delay!

Need a hand to get your character done and a post up?
[jumper cables spark ominously]
Not much for me to add at this point. Just responding to let you know I'm still interested and am awaiting more players. If I come up with a character concept (likely based around example AC) I'll drop it here.

Mechanically speaking, I am interested in being a juggernaut type character with lots of forward momentum and frontal shields to lead the charge, but I'm not sure how that would work with your system or the established lore and whatnot. Simply put, imagine Reinhardt from Overwatch (at least mechanically).

I'll draft you up a nice suit of power armour for just that. It's very similar to a thing a friend of mine had in another game I ran; a suit of enchanted armour that allowed the character to 'vent' the kinetic energy of a fall into a shockwave. They used it for boarding actions from low orbit.

Awesome! The rules seem pretty neat! After some thinking, I believe I am interested in the Armoured Commander role. You mention pre-written character sheets. With that in mind, I'm curious how much power we'll have over our characters' backgrounds and presence. For example, if I were to take on the role of the Armoured Commander, would I be able to "design" my character or choose from different heavy archetypes or something?

The pre-gen sheets are mostly to serve as examples so you can create a character all your own, or so anyone who is very new to using any system has an easy onramp. As long as your character fits the strategic niche of armour command and fits the ethos of LSS I encourage you to go nuts. Rush has volunteered for the only character role where I ask to strongly influence the backstory.
I'll post the examples in the OOC if we get three more players, but for what it's worth the example AC is the team newbie fresh from a private academy.
I am interested in joining. Not sure what niche I'd like to fill yet. Currently at work, and I need some time to think about it first. Possibly dumb question, but you have stated the game will be supported with dice; however I don't see any mention of a specific system. Is there a specific system you plan to use?

Thank you for your time. I look forward to your reply @Excession!

A fine question; it's a system of my own creation which probably most closely resembles World of Darkness with some significant differences.
I should have a quick reference sheet here somewhere...

The full system is a bit more complex but this is what I use for conventions.
