Veragwen jumped at the sound of Mara's voice, "Oh, good. You've come to.... I've tended to anyone that could have been tended to....everyone else is dust." she said sadly. "I was just about to go take a look at around town and see if there was anything that could be salvaged. There is no point in remaining. You're welcome to come with, but you should probably be resting, Mara. Oh, right, you don't know my name. It's Veragwen, I was something of a Guard Captain. Lot of good I did, though.... almost everyone I know and loved gone in an instant....Bah, I'm sorry I'm being a big downer.... I thank you for destroying the scorpion. I'm pretty sure we'd all be dead about now if not for you...." she said, smiling at Mara, albeit a little sadly.

"Which remind me. I wanted to ask you how you wound up with a Dragoon Spirit Stone. It's not exactly something you just find laying around. For all we knew they were long gone. Only to return in a time of need...." she frowned, thinking about what that might entail...

Veragwen headed for the door, "I'm taking a look around. You're welcome to come along if you're up for it." she said to Mara before leaving the inn and taking a walk around the town, picking up herbs, weapons, clothing, or any other items that might be useful. Eventually, she came upon the old shrine, it had apparently been heavily damaged by the scorpion. There seemed to be a tunnel of some sort inside it. "An underground tunnel was here all this time?" she looked around, found a torch, lit it, and stepped inside and found that it was actually a narrow, spiral staircase. She carefully made her way down.

After what felt like hours of descending the staircase, she seemed to have come upon the main chamber. Vergawen's eyes widened at what she saw. It was a fairly large room that forked shortly into seven tunnels. At each tunnel was a pedestal with what appeared to be small stones set on top, and behind she could see various pieces of armor, weapons, and even clothing, however, those doors seemed to be difficult to open and one of the pedestals seemed to have been destroyed. "Is this real?...."

Veragwen felt herself drawn to the second to last tunnel, which appeared to be for the White-Silver Dragoon, judging by the color of the stone. The White-Silver Dragoon was well known for it's healing magic. Imagine the people she could help with that, the illness she could cure. She was pretty positive it couldn't help those that were now dust, but who knows maybe it could.... She turned to find Mara behind her. "What do you make of this, Mara?" she asked.
Uh, isn't everyone pretty much in the vicinity of Marmalade?
Veragwen watched as the events unfolded with raised eyebrows. And then she saw the mist. She couldn't do much to protect anyone from that so all she could do was look after herself. She took a deep breath before it hit her and dropped to the ground, holding her breath for as long as she could. After a moment she was pretty close to having to suck in the mist for air, but it somehow dispersed very quickly by a bright light. She got up and sat on her knees as she caught her breath and watched...Mara? seemed to be her name kill the black scorpian. "That armor...There's no way..."

She head heard the stories of the Dragon Knights, the Dragoons. Mostly vague stories, but the descriptions matched the armor that Mara now wore. How did she get a hold of one of those stones? As far as she knew they've been gone for centuries.

Veragwen shook her head, bringing herself out of her thoughts, stood up, and looked around for injured. There seemed to be a great many of them. She wasn't even sure they could cure the poor villagers that had inhaled some of the mist. "The beast is dead....but it may have taken Seles with it anyway..." she said on the verge of tears, "Some protector I am. I couldn't even protect one person out of everyone here!" She shook her head, "No...no is not the time for that. First, I need to treat and save who I can."

She looked around again and spotted Caelyn first. She did what she could for her, then moved to Mara. She seemed fine, just unconscious. She nodded and moved on to the next person she saw. She didn't see Nayash anywhere, though. Where did she go?
Nothing wrong with large posts if they're well written, which you're doing a good job of Xiga. No worries. :3
Don't be afraid to ask if you're unsure of something. c:
"Or it could attack already." Veragwen sighed and cursed under her breath. "Please hide if you don't want to risk gettign hurt, Nayash." she said before slipping on her shield, unsheathing her unique blade, and charging the beast.

She saw a few others fighting the beast. "I thank you all for coming! This may very well be Seles's last stand. Let's make it count!" she shouted. She wondered if anyone had any of those attack items like a Burn Out. She had used those to fight it off the past few times. "Anyone have an attack item on them? They work somewhat better on it. I think I used all mine up fending it off the past few nights."

Veragwen charged it the scorpion, it thrust it's tail at her. Vera had too much momentum to stop, but she was able to divert her course enough that with her shield she simply bounced off of it. The force of the blow knocked her off her feet and back a ways. She caught herself with her hands and turned it into a flip to land on her feet. "Perhaps, we could lure it away from the village so it can't hurt anyone else. Who knows, maybe we could find something that could hurt it!" she said, slightly winded. "Like a nice cliff, or a tree...."
Veragwen was working on another patient when she heard a commotion outside closeby. She stood and ran outside to see what it was. She looked around and grasped the situation pretty quickly. "Owen! Is that the way you speak to visitors? Small wonder we don't get any. Go on home. I think your mother still needs some medicine." she said, handing it to him and shooing him off.

She turned to Nayash, "Sorry about that. Owen tends to be very....superstitious and connect dots that aren't really there if you know what I mean..." she placed her hand on the woman's back and turned her back inside the clinic. She grabbed her things and motioned for Nayash to do the same. "I'll show you to my house, I guess. Someone else can finish up. The seriously injured have already been tended to."

As they walked, Veragwen looked at Nayash, "So tell me...What do you know about this man you're after? What did he do that would make you chase him so far?"
It's not fraud. Armond told him to use his name. Fraud would be if you stole it.
Veragwen nodded, "I'll let you know if I hear of him." she said as she started to work on another villager. She smiled over her shoulder, "Well, you could help me bandage up the wounded for now. You could talk to them too. They might have some information for us. When we're done I'll show you to my place. For now you can set your things over there next to mine." She said, pointing to her own pack before returning back her patients. "I'd take you to my place first, but these people need help as soon as possible."
Veragwen frowned, "Ah, I see....I'm sorry Nayash, I guess we all just assumed you were here to help with the beast since we don't get many visitors, but I certainly won't force you. Life is a precious thing, right? And I'm afraid I haven't seen anyone like that but I'll let you know if I do..."

She nodded, relieved to hear that she might help somehow, "You can stay at my place. I have a guest room that's rarely used but I keep it clean. It's a rather comfy place and I would love the company. Would that be alright with you?" she asked.
Veragwen had just finished with a patient when the elder and the stranger walked in. She stood and turned, offering the woman a pretty smile. "Welcome to Seles, traveler. My name is Veragwen, but I suppose the elder already told you that. What is your name? And you're from the Death Frontier you said, Elder? That's quite a hike.... Nonetheless, I'm glad that flyer is bearing fruit. This village can't take much more of this. Your help is appreciated."

Vera rested her hand on the pommel of her sword, "I'm afraid there isn't much I know that isn't obvious. The beast uses poison, has sharp claws, and a tail. Each one is a threat of it's own and our supplies are running out quickly to deal with each one. I sent several requests to Basil for help, but besides that flyer and a few warriors I haven't seen much help...I've recommended evacuations as well, but they don't really have anywhere to go. Even Basil is a good ways away and that's a dangerous road. And so they remain..." she sighed. "All I can do is protect them best I can, but it seems my best isn't enough..." she said, looking around at all the injured.
