- Little Feather & Lion -
Little Feather felt her smile broaden as Dani welcomed them to sit down, she slid into an unoccupied chair laughing lightly as Lion tried to stick his bottom lip out in a ‘pout’ failing miserably he ended wrinkling his nose and jutting his chin forward looking more like he was about to sneeze. Fine I’ll take the floor He grumbled looking around warily as if he was unsure about speaking in this area with so many people he wasn’t associated with hanging around. He plonked his butt down next to Little Feather swishing his tail happily. “It’s been fairly good thank you” Little Feather replied to Dani with a sheepish grin. “I’m sorry about abandoning you earlier...turns out we weren’t cut out for the ranged dojo...” She apologized, a look of guilt crossing her face. “I’m glad to hear your day has been good!” She smiled brightly at him, though she had dressed herself back into her ‘normal’ clothing upon inspection of her face she was actually missing her face paint, something she had not yet been seen without...
“I watched from the sidelines to begin with...there was a waterballoon dodgeball fight. Girls VS Boys, very amusing to watch! The girls won and a few of the guys kept breaking the rules” She grinned thinking of to a particular red-haired troublemaker. “Then they did this thing called ‘Dressing up’ or something like that, where we put funny looking clothes on all the guys” She told him in an animated fashion her cheeks flushing as she thought back to Alistair, though she knew better than to react this way to him anymore so she pushed it aside. Blushing more because she’d blushed in front of Dani, in an attempt to brush it aside she continued retelling her version of events in a rather fast and animated fashion. “Before they had to run through an obstacle course whilst being pelted by ‘Paint bombs’ and something called a ‘Foam Canon’! Carmen...kicked butt on those” Little Feather hesitated on the last quote as if trying to pull it from her memory. Seven won the race I believe” She finished her tale just as Liam approached the table. “Hey Liam” She greeted the girl with a warm smile, her face was still flushed at this point. Lion jolted as Liam stood on his tail whining low in his throat he quickly headbutted her foot off of the sensitive appendage and scooped it underneath him protectively. Always the tail... He grumbled maintaining his ‘grumpy’ lion visage. Little Feather blinked in surprise as the drink was thrust in front of her, she had no idea what an ‘Iced Tea’ was but the Salad Dani had chosen for her earlier had been very nice...perhaps this would be the same. “Thank you! That’s very kind of you” The Lakota woman grinned gratefully at Liam, as she lifted the glass taking a sip.
Lion’s ears twitched as he heard a soft familiar mewling, he turned his large head grinning at the small kitten. Good Evening little one He mewled back lightly wagging his tail as the kitten tried to bop at him from a distance. Little Feather looked up waving at Garden as she sipped her iced tea, which she decided was indeed delicious. “Hello, Lady Garden!” She greeted the other woman mimicking her polite titling. “Very well thank you and yourself?” She asked with a bright smile, her cheeks had finally returned to their normal coloring, Little Feather lifted her hand to her face seeking out the comfort of her facial markings. However a look of panic crossed her face as she couldn’t locate the markings that usually adorned her face. L-Lion! My face! Have I-? Little Feather made a rather peculiar purring noise in her throat looking at the Lion beside her, who pulled his attention away from the kitten after allowing himself to be bopped on the nose and nuzzling the little kitten affectionately. He blinked at her before nodding his head quickly, his ears flattening back as if he already knew what her reaction was going to be. “E-excuse me!” She stuttered out to the others trying to hide her face as she got up out of her seat, abandoning Lion who watched her with a worried expression. Though quickly turned back to Sunflower giving the cat at least half of his attention. How has your day been, furrball? Lion purred, grinning cheekily at his new pet name for the kitten...though he was more of a furrball than the little cat.
Little Feather was in such a rush she nearly collided with Leroy upon his entry to the lounge, she looked to be in a right state with her hand shielding her face and nose from view. “I-I’m sorry!” She stumbled over the words, jittering in an embarrassed manner. “A-Are you ok?” She asked uncertainly, trying to calm herself down...it was just paint. But to her those simple markings were a symbol, a mask of which to hide behind without the ‘idea’ of them she felt like a boat without an anchor. A thought flickered across her mind as she waited for Leroy’s response, she remembered he’d demonstrated his ability a couple of weeks back “L-leroy! Have you got any ink or paint on you?” Little Feather asked tentatively, she had told him specifically she would prefer him not to mess with her emotions but she was making a scene at the moment and this seemed like the fastest option to getting her face painted. “It’s just I've forgotten my face paint and well...” She mumbled, looking at her feet bashfully. “...if you wouldn’t mind could I borrow some? I don’t mind if you want to...paint it on for me, any kind will do” There was hesitation there but permission granted. “Please?” The Lakota murmured, feeling about ready to burst with anxiety
- Derek -
Derek’s ears twitched as he heard the woman chuckle before sighing. I fail to see why that question was amusing... He thought bitterly to himself though remained outwardly at ease, his eyes shifting to take in the ‘shape’ of the other dragon using the beautiful lights Maria’s voice conjured up for him he felt they were particularly bright with a certain...spark to them. He inclined his head towards her, his mouth twitching up into a polite smile as she spoke his name. “A pleasure to meet you Maria” He murmured tilting forward into a bow as a gentleman would have done in the presence of ladies in the past. He cast his ‘gaze’ over at the other students as she mentioned them trying to keep the look of disdain from entering his ‘young’ face, they were indeed a noisy bunch, though he appreciated the light their racket created his old ears retreated from the bustle. He had been slumbering for the last 100 years or so, so he was still adapting to this new world with its strange sounds and new shapes.
He rested his elbow on the bar casually leaning against it as he shifted his attention back to Maria, bending the colorful lights around her so he could ‘see’ her more noticeable facial expressions. His lip lifted into a smirk at the obvious tease, he was very much inclined to take her up on her offer but his emerald eyes shifted to rest on the old dragon behind her, he got the feeling the elder dragon didn’t want him to hang about. So? Stay and flirt a while...what do you care? He thought to himself, not allowing the devious smirk to leave his lips after all he could tell Maria was a very attractive woman...still.
Deliberately causing another dragon any kind of trouble on his first day probably wouldn’t do, he regretfully lifted himself off of the bar. “As charming an offer as that is, I wouldn’t want to impose on anything” Derek regretfully declined her invitation throwing a ‘glance’ at Brako, holding his hand out in a gentle attempt to take her hand however depending on whether or not she accepted such an intrusive action the young dragon either kissed the back of her hand lightly in farewell or presented her with another bow. “I shall...mingle for now” He told them, moving away without another word his nose wrinkling as he passed by the other students. I don’t want to associate with any of them...I wonder what this meeting will be about? He thought to himself, moving over to a secluded spot and settling himself down into a comfortable chair, wishing he was back at the alcove nestled up in his dragon form, he needed to rest his flight had been ridiculously long after such a long time hibernating.
