– Crash–
Crash shifted his shoulders uncomfortably as his hand remained on the back of his neck as Kathy pressed him to finish his sentence. It was in this moment he was glad neither of them could see his expression, he was also surprised that his glowing face hadn’t lit up the path in front of them like a flare. Just say it... “Unless I came round with that movie a bit later in the day, we could exchange pictures then and...Hang out” Crash murmured, he wasn’t purposefully trying to be quiet or word his sentence badly both came naturally. There were two factors in his hesitation, the first one was Kathy’s own well being if he may have been a major instigator in embarrassing her without realizing it but he was also trying his best not to purposefully embarrass her. The second factor was a more selfish one; he found he wasn’t as comfortable discussing this kind of thing in front of Alex...at least not yet. After all the blue haired boys friendly disposition was only a recent change he had spent most of the morning staring daggers at Crash...The shapeshifter lowered his hand from his neck trying to watch Kathy’s expression through the darkness, if only he could just shift his eyes to a panthers then he’d be able to see her better. As it was he was left wondering whether she even understood what he was hinting at.
Nodding his head, his expression shifted to one of interest as Alex told them what he preferred to make. He tried to think of a way to continue on with the conversation but he was very much ill equipped with the subject, he hadn’t the foggiest clue on how to make jewelry so he wasn’t sure what to ask about it. He was forced into silence trying to think of something else to ask the pixie boy in his search for common ground between them, something they could...his nose unintentionally wrinkled at the word that popped into his head, he wasn’t sure of it. He turned his attention back to the others dropping his gaze to rest on Kathy’s hand still tucked within his own, his lips lifted into a soft smile helpfully hidden in the darkness. He wasn’t reading too much into it but the physical contact with the girl beside him seemed to have duel effects on him. On the one hand he was a lot calmer on the other he felt like a coiled spring, full to the brim with energy that was linked to nerves. He frowned at Alex’s view on age, he agreed with him to an extent but felt age did matter in some cases...still peace was better than opinions. “Growing old is mandatory, growing up is optional” He shrugged at the pixie boy, though he wasn’t as enthusiastic in his delivery.
Crash felt a smile tug at the corners of his mouth as Kathy laughed though he was taken aback by her response to his comment on being ‘average’. He found her tone of voice amusing, he would have guessed a pout would have accompanied that...possibly, he’d seen her pull such an expression in the past. Damn the darkness, he couldn’t make out her expression at all still the thought brought a cheeky grin to his face. He was about to answer when he felt something bump into the back of his calf he glanced down in time to catch Kathy’s retreating foot. “Hey take it easy!” He chuckled, “You’re not ‘average’ by a long shot Miss Argall, you’re unique in more ways than one trust me” He told her, accompanying his words with a wink as a grin edged onto his face even if they couldn’t see his expression his features were a slave to his emotions, changing whether he willed it or not most of the time. “I mean that in a purely good way as well before you think otherwise” He quickly added, just in case she thought differently he even accompanied it with a reassuring squeeze to her hand.
The red haired shapeshifter kept his gaze averted from the pair pretending he couldn’t hear their hushed voices, he wasn’t a fan of being left out of the loop but he figured whatever it was didn’t concern him. He just focused on walking...one foot in front of the other, stepping over the hazards scattered across the forest floor. 19...makes jewelry and plush things...and blankets... what are you going to say? ‘Well I like the gym and sports’ It just spells ‘Boring Jock’ next to that creativity Crash thought to himself chewing his lip as he stressed over the idea of revealing his hobbies, he wasn’t sure why he was worrying about how he looked compared to Alex all of a sudden he hadn’t been concerned before. Music... He blinked as Kathy went back to talking normally, he glanced at her through the darkness a smile lighting up his face as he listened to her. His mouth opened as if to say something but Alex beat him to it, he chewed his lip before continuing on with his question anyway “Is there a reason you don’t bake all too often?” He asked curiously before she got the chance to bump him with his own hand. In response to her ‘joke’ his free hand instantly sought out the back of his neck as heat entered his cheeks. He detected the difference in her tone and although he wasn’t clued into why it had sounded different his thumb returned to its previous antics as if trying to offer up reassurance or possibly comfort. He wasn’t even sure which one it could signify... “Fine, since you asked so nicely” He teased directing the comment at Kathy. “I’m not skipping out” He chuckled at Alex’s response. “Hobbies...Creating and playing music would be one, so as not to be a parrot I’ll tell you my favorite sports though I enjoy most, lets say Basketball and Lacrosse” He admitted feeling more at ease revealing his interests after hearing Kathy’s. “I do recall you wanting to challenge me to a race at some point, would I be safe in assuming you like to run? Otherwise what other sports are you into?” He asked her, wondering whether he could have directed the last part of his question at Alex as well. “Do you like any sports Alex?” He asked though his tone was light there was something...off about it as he addressed the pixie boy.
– Mercy –
Mercy was glad to see the blood had stopped pouring from his nose, she fully intended to at least get him something to clean himself up with once they arrived at their destination. Her smile widened as he gave out a small laugh in response to her own, it was nice to hear perhaps hinting he was relaxing at least a little bit. “Well this place has every known flavor of ice cream...I’m sure of it” She kept the warm smile on her face as they walked noticing he reached up to touch his sensitive nose before he answered her question about dinner. “Hmm ok...how’s your nose feeling by the way?” She asked curiously as she tucked her arms behind her gently gripping her right wrist with her left hand as she walked.
She found she was slowly getting used to his stutter, though it still took her a while to piece together some words. His answers both surprised her yet didn’t at the same time, most of his hobbies were things that could be done independently, they didn’t rely on companionship to do. “You...enjoy cleaning?” She questioned an amused smile on her face though there wasn’t any signs of teasing in her tone or expression. “Knitting, sewing and baking sound like very interesting hobbies. What do you like to sew?” She asked him. Though she jolted to a stop as he whispered a word of which she hadn’t thought she’d hear here of all places...the small giggle was undeniably adorable coming from him...but what he'd said had momentarily shocked her. “I-I’m sorry” Mercy stuttered in return her voice strained, she licked at her lower lip nervously running her fingers into her hair as she forced herself to relax again. “I thought you said something else” She pulled the warm smile back onto her face hoping color would return to her cheeks soon. She walked across the grass moving around the back of the resort, she trotted over to a door ushering Zivon over to her she pressed her back against the door pushing it open for him. “Here we are” She grinned at him, lifting an arm to invite him in. If Zivon walked through the door he would have seen she hadn’t been kidding about there being every flavor of ice cream there. There was a counter spread from one side of the room to the other, literally filled with different selections of ice cream the room was noticeably cold as they walked further in.
“So what do you think?” Mercy asked Zivon moving over to the counter as a young gentleman appeared behind the counter. “Oh great! Please can you get whatever my friend here wants whilst I grab something from back here” She grinned, the man rolled his eyes but nodded in agreement as was her way she’d already introduced herself to most of the people of this island. “Pick anything you want honey, I’m literally going to grab something for you to clean up with” She told Zivon her hand momentarily hovered in the air as if she was thinking about touching his shoulder reassuringly but she caught herself and quickly disguised the action by tapping the glass and winking at him. Hopping behind the counter to retrieve a cold damp tea towel whilst he hopefully had a browse of the flavors, she was only gone for a few moments before returning. “Right, this is for you” She told him holding out the cold towel before looking at the selection of ice cream. “...and I’ll be honest with you and admit I’m a lost cause when it comes to ice cream, what would you suggest?” She asked him, pulling an apologetic look as she lifted her hand to her face running her fingers through her fringe.
