The outbreak started six months ago. Somewhere out in the middle of nowhere in Nevada. Local reports claim these creatures just clamored out of the woods, using the bodies of local lumberjacks. Infection spread from there, quickly, and it didn't take long for life across the planet to flicker out. The living dead roam the plains, the woods, the cities, and the mountains. Yes, that kind of living dead.

Zombies.

This isn't something the world is going to recover from in a few weeks. This isn't a blip on the radar. This is a new way of life. This cant be undone, everything is over. The world is about survival now. People tend to keep moving nowadays, never resting in the same place for long. You need to move if you're going to beat the infected. They're slow and stupid, but strength comes in numbers. And yet, even in a world like this, people can make connections.

And sometimes, those connections run deep, deeper than the infection could ever hope to reach.

So, thats the basic premise I have for us! There are still a few things that would need to be fleshed out, but that is something I usually like to do with my RP partner. We are both going to have an impact on what the story will become, so I like to work with my partner when giving it its basic outline.

I would like to have someone who is fairly detailed with their writing. You don't need to be rewriting War and Peace, I understand that we all have lives and sometimes we cant sit down and write out a whole book. A paragraph or two a post would be just fine, and even then, you can write less every once in a while, we all do sometimes. Just as long as you like to write. I hope I am able to gain the interest of someone through this, because I would absolutely love to RP this story. I would love to see where it goes. You can either respond in this post or, if you like, you can PM me. I hope to hear from someone soon!

The woods just outside of town have always been eerie.

They've been the subject of countless conversations for the residents in the housing district and downtown areas for years.

I saw something strange lurking just beyond where the trees break.
I heard a voice calling to me from the deeper areas when I was out hunting.
I thought I heard something growle...

But those are just urban legends, right? They cant be true, right? Whether they are or not, only one thing is clear: those woods are strange. Even in pictures, it's clear that there's something mysterious about them, not quite right. They feel almost alive, and the two protagonists of this story are going to find out first hand just how true that statement is.

That's the basis I have for this story I am hoping to craft. It's roots are deeply set in the mystery and supernatural genres, with a bit of psychological horror coming into play. There are still a few things that would need to be fleshed out, but that is something I usually like to do with my RP partner. We are both going to have an impact on what the story will become, so I like to work with my partner when giving it its basic outline.

Tim, who had been hit by a total curve ball with Sophia's emotions, was trying his hardest to keep up with what exactly had just happened. That, combined with the cold, was a very discombobulating thing for him to experience. He rushed to her side, listening hard, zipping up his jacket as she quietly mumbled about other things that the two of them could do, suddenly distant and flustered. He pushed his hands into his pocket, trying to keep pace, eyes scanning the horizon as they walked. Had he said something weird in the store? Was it wrong? He really just wanted to hang out, he didnt necessarily have any problems going where she wanted to go.

"Uh, we could... I dunno. Did I say something? I-In the store?" Tim said, timidly, moving in front of her now, walking backwards, keeping pace with her pretty evenly. "I just dont really eat too much sugary candies. Normal gummies are more my speed. I went because you wanted to go, thats all."

He watched her face, looking for a reaction, something to read. He also silently applauded himself for, for the first time in quite some time, actually being able to confront a situation rather than let it fester for too long, unspoken. He spent a moment with that, then brought himself back to the situation at hand.

"I just like hangin' out, thats all."

Tim turned the small, gummy candy over in his hands a few times before biting down on it It was alright at first. Consistency was good, the taste was perfectly adequate, and chewing into it wasn't all that bad. However, when his canines hit the center of the candy, a sticky, gooey substance leaked out of the center, coating his tongue, assaulting it yet again with an incredible amount of sugary attacks. Tim, again, made a face before forcing himself to swallow the candy, shaking his head a bit as a shiver radiated up his spine. Does everything in this place have to be so damn sweet all the time, cant they mute the flavors or something like that?

"Oh, gosh, wow." He said, composing himself some. "That, um, that is... yeah."

He noticed the look sophia was giving him.

"Yeah, sorry. I cant handle sweet things too well. Well, sweet things I can handle but sugary things are in a whole different ballpark. Ever since I was a kid, y'know? Sugar just hurts me in large quantities, to be honest with you. There aren't many candies out there for me."

He thought for a moment.

"Well, there arent many good ones, anyway." He added, chuckling a bit. "Guess I shoulda mentioned that before we, y'know, went to the candy shop, right?"

Tim Smiled a bit as she talked, letting his eyes scan the various candies as he crossed his arms over his chest, letting out a small sigh as his eyes landed on something long, colorful, and glazed with sugar. He reached out, tugging one of the long rope-like candies out of its compartment, turning it over in his hands, observing it for a moment before he put it to his mouth, biting off small piece of it near the end. His tongue was immediately assaulted with a sweet, syrupy, nearly painful amount of sugar. His jaw was actually tingling as he chewed into whatever the hell it was. He pulled a face, one that could easily be read as what the actual fuck? before placing the thing back where it came from.

"Ack... no, I'm fine, actually." Tim said, gritting his teeth for a moment, getting his bearings before continuing. "Um, y'know, usually, I would have been a bit of a wreck in that situation, like, socially and physically. Just, imagine a, like, a brutal train wreck. That would have been me. But, I dunno, lately I've been handling these situations with a bit more... ease, I think. I mean, that guy overwhelmed me, yeah, he was super exciting and, and charismatic and stuff, but I didn't freak out or get scared, like I would have a few months ago. I think I have you to thank for that, taking me out and forcing me to interact with people more often."

He looked over at Sophia for a moment, just to check if she was still listening.

"So, y'know, thanks and stuff."
There's something out there... there's something in the woods.

A small group of friends, a large cabin in the mountains, and a weekend of isolation.

Three things that come together to make the perfect setting for an absolute catastrophe. After the stress of their finals, their work schedules, and their overall lives in general, a small group of friends decides that the best way to get rid of all of the stress that is plaguing them is to drive off to the large, luxury lodge that one of their parents in the mountains, in the woods. They can all hang out there, talk, laugh, and enjoy themselves. There are tons of things that they can do around the lodge, too. Theres a set of trails, theres a lake for swimming in the summer, a ski slope in the winter, a shooting range, a rock wall, and a whole lot more, that's only scratching the surface. Any young adult would think it sounds like an excellent, exciting to get away from everything, right? You dont need to think in the woods, you just need to be in the woods.

That is, of course, unless there is someone--or something-- living there.

Watching.

Waiting.

In its most basic form, this is the idea I want to write about. I love the idea of taking a tired and true cliche and turning it into something more. Yes, I left the idea very, very open, but that's because I think a lot of the ideas for what is going to happen to these two or four or eight people will stem from our own ideas and thoughts and images when we work together to create the characters and the settings. I love fleshing out the plot with my partner in depth before we start up with the story, and this is no exception. This idea has a lot of potential to be really fun, or genuinely scary, if we really wanna get it there.

In terms of how you write, someone who is fairly detailed in their posts would be best. However, I completely understand that we all have lives and sometimes we cant sit down and write out a whole book. It's been three months since the infection hit. Nobody's too sure as to how or why it started, but some people say they've heard murmurings of some sort of government lab experiment going awry. But, on the other hand, some say they heard it's an evolution of rabies, or some other odd disease that already existed. Some claim it's god, some claim it's natural, some claim it's cult driven. But what caused it doesn't matter anymore. All that matters is that it's real.

Zombies.

This isn't something the world is going to recover from in a few weeks. This isn't a blip on the radar. This is a new way of life. You either get busy living, or you get busy dying, there's nothing in between. There is nobody that's going to save us other than ourselves. People tend to keep moving nowadays, never resting in the same place for long. You need to move if you're going to beat the infected. They're slow and stupid, but strength comes in numbers. And yet, even in a world like this, people can make connections.

A couple of people meet through their shared interests in folk music.

In its most basic form, that's the kind of story I would like to write about. I want to explore the relationship of two people who become friends based on their mutual interest in bands/the fact that they can both play instruments relatively well. What path the two of them go down is entirely up to us. They could become lovers, or very close friends, or something that even they are not entirely sure about. Perhaps they decide to try and start up a two person band, playing in small cafes and coffee shops. Or maybe they just have jam sessions together. Hell, maybe the two of them just talk about music they like. Regardless of what they do, this general interest in music opens them up, helps them get to know each other. They find themselves becoming friends, being able to talk about more than just the music they play. I always find it interesting to write about real, honest human connections, and I think that this in particular has the chance to be an really cool thing to create a story about.
