Being a GM in tabletop can apparently mean driving your players insane - I was surprised how "well" everyone repsonded to being surrounded by crazies and care takers. Hope they get out in the end...

My love-hate always kicks in when learning words without an equivalent in other languages, and complex meaning. It is amazing the word exists, but hard to grasp its usage.

The strangest thing about learning new languages is still that they have words your language can only desribe and vice versa: Torschlusspanik, dépaysement, l'appel du vide, madrugar.

Bio

I have some experience (well rather some years of experience) in roleplaying, but I am rather new here.

This will most likely not turn out to be the most helpful Bio, especially as I am currently blissfully unaware and somewhat apathetic to everything concerning cosmetical possibilities. It is partly due to the fact that there is no fascinating, wonderfully rounded and polished characters - I just fought I would share some insights about the things I like.

For the roleplaying part I came here looking for something rather relaxed in a classical fantasy environment. More or less along the lines of a typical tabletop adventure or classical side quest (or row of side quests) in gaming. I am also fairly interested in longer, more elaborate plots but currently not in the position to think one up and keep it running.

Apart from that there is a broad variety of settings I am interested in. It ranges from historically themed ideas over to our current time and world up to futuristic scenarios, including post-apocalypting settings in this range. Any of those might be high or low fantasy. In short it is not one specific slice of things that is fascinating me, it is the possibility to dive into another world. That is the reason why there is also a small set of fandoms I like.

I prefer creating my own characters for a roleplay. This means that I can easily create characters requiring a set of skills, sometimes even character traits, but I often have a hard time to fill a pre-shaped role already described with character traits and (parts of a) backstory. For me this creation process is an important step when immersing into a new world.

Before finally concluding I should mention that the better part of my characters has at least dark spots in their history or behaviour. Many of the topics touched are mature, so if you feel unconfortable (or just aren't mature) please inform me beforehand. I usually also try to outline the problematic traits beforehand.

To round things up: If you found something interesting here, or have an idea that you want to share, just send me a message. It would surely make me happy!

Hello everybody,

I am quite new around here and I figured a little check could not hurt.

A few notes beforehand: I like to write a few up to many paragraphs and would expect to get at least one paragraph as a response. A lot of my characters, especially in modern scenarios, touch 18+ topics and there are chances that plot will swing that way - so you are warned.

So a little glance at what I am looking for:

Besides what is listed above there are a few other things for which I have some ideas, but do not have something resembling a plot:
- Modern times adventurous to slice of life / drama (warning: characters tend to be psychologically scarred)
- X-Men universe
- Post-apocalyptic scenarios
- Historical times, especially around the 18th / 19th century

The list is most likely not complete, but I do my very best to keep the things listed where I can offer a plot or character outline.

So, if you are interest, reply or send me a message!
I hope some other people also find amusement in their off moments and want to share them.

This is not about mental illness, it is rather about the more or less frequent "brain fart" moments or the strange ideas that pop up from time to time.
I will just start with two examples:

A very long time I had the urge to put a spoon in any pot of tea or coffee I was having at home. Would be alright if I wouldn't stick to taking tea without sugar, milk or lemon.

A more recent one is the urge to jump into really big puddles - especially when I am in a bad mood.
I guess I would certainly be interested. All around I could find a character for both ideas and would like both of them.

Alright so I included the header (sorry I missed it when creating the CS) and resized the image.

For the runes: I worded it wrongly. The bow is engraved with runes, allowing for a higher precision in given situations. To be more precise I would propose that the runes enable her to once a day make a way more precise shot as long as she is continually concentrated on her target. E.g. under normal circumstances hitting a fiend in the eye from a distance would be very difficult and require quite a bit of luck. The runes would allow her (in my idea by catalyzing her own magical energies, such that she has to recover a day) to strengthen the connection she has to mentally make with her target point and therefor easing the shot.

I guess in normal days life she uses it for hunting rather than anything else, where the strengthened collection helps in finding the correct moment for the shot and correctly estimating distances and maybe movement patterns.

Is this understandable..? I would update the CS if it is.
Especially with that reply, I have another question from the side of a non-mage. Or maybe really some questions.

First would be the use of magic in "normal" crafts, such as: Is it common for someone to improve their craft with magic either by unconsciously channeling some of it during production or through learning of explicit runes / enchanting procedures? Are magical items (lamps, storage ..) / weapons common at all or special as only trained sorcerers create them?

And how does magical affinity show for people not formerly trained? Are they aware of surrounding magic or is it just the general possibility to make use of it without any real implications?
I see you are still missing somebody adept in long range fights and further support - so I guess I will add a draft I would love to work with!

I sure hope I do, although right now I may be more confident about my characters. The few things worth being considered a story a rather special - or rather short. But if you have any interest by chance I might elaborate!
This sounds highly interesting - if you are still searching

Two questions:
Would we get a short information about existing characters as to not create something too similar?

Does the imposer get the information before character building?
