Aya nods at the display, trying to hide how impressive it was. "Yup. That's pretty good. You might even be able to shoot someone in the face doing that and kill them." she stares at Elauna. "Is that the power you want? To kill? Does it feel good to end a life?" She gestures to the plants around them. "You know how to make a weapon of one thing. I know how to make weapons from the forest floor. That's the power a healer holds. Both life and death." Aya didn't really feel like it was the most moral way to explain the role of a healer, but she wanted Destin to come with her so badly.

Elauna flinches at being asked if it felt good to end a life. "Of course it doesn't feel good to end a life!" She snaps. "But sometimes you have no choice, and you have to do what's best for your group." She scoffs. "Life and death as a healer, seems counter productive. I've never seen Destin ,or any other healer use heir powers to end a life."
<Snipped quote by Fionraella>

Jayden falls silent as Destin mentions Elauna. He eyes the small shifter with a pained expression, before sighing. "I'm sure I could come up with something... she's quite a handful to deal with sometimes." Jayden rises to his paws and motions for Destin to follow. "Lets go. Don't worry."

Destin's ears droop a bit as he follows. "I'm sorry Jayden." He whispers before padding after him, staring at the ground guiltily in front of him. He hates to be the cause of drama for those aorund him, especially those who have always been nice to him as Jayden has.
<Snipped quote by Fionraella>

Jayden's demeanor drops as he informs him that. "Very well... what is her stance on taking over the role?" He claws at the ground as he asks, already not liking the idea of this. He hated dealing with Elauna. "Do you think she'd agree to it?"

"I dunno..." Destin sighs heavily. "But I can't think of anyone else!" He looks at Jayden softly. "I know you two have...complicated history, and I hope you would help me try to convince her, but I completely understand if that's not going to happen...if things are awkward or impossible between the two of you."
Aya turns her head away from Elauna and examines some of the nearby trees. Clearly she was not going to be able to convince her otherwise about Destin. "Yes, well, you're probably right about me considering you a healer. If I were a patient yours is not a face I would be happy to see. However, can you really think of anyone in the Broms who could not that job?" she looks back at Elauna seriously.

Elauna glares at her a bit. "I'm sure." She doesnt answer the question, now thoroughly annoyed with the younger girl. She picks her bow back up and walks in a broad circle, shooting arrows quickly. She hits five trees in a row, hitting a gnarled knot on each one, before turning to face Aya. "I'm needed because I'm a good shot. Not because I can do some healer-y things."
Aya frowns, not really sure whether she should believe Elauna or not, but now was as good a time as any. "There might be a reason your healer will leave soon. I too don't believe in letting innocent people die, and having no healer during the winter will be a death sentence for at least some of your group members. Someone told me that you might be cut out for the job." she waits for Elauna's response, hoping she won't ask too much about Destin.

Elauna raises an eyebrow at her. "Destin doesn't have any reason to leave the Broms. This is where he belongs and he knows it." She snaps, before scoffing. "You think that I would be a good healer?" She then bursts out laughing. "Man, you're more naive than I thought!" She shakes her head "Right, just ask Jayden when he comes back, if he thinks I'd make a good healer. Sorry sweetheart, no one would let me anywhere near them."
Aya knew there was nothing she could do against the bow and arrow except flee, and yet in this circumstance this girl was so arrogant that there was no way she was going to be intimidated by her. She picked up the arrow and held it in one fist, intending to use it as a weapon should it come to that. "Truly, I was implying your intelligence. But perhaps I was wrong. You jump to conclusions about what I'm trying to say." She shakes her head. "No, you are no healer. You are just like any other Brom. Violent and cruel. Have you let me live only to toy with me?"

"Violent and cruel, you say that, but I don't think you fully understand the meaning of those words. Especially with regards to the Broms." Elaune sets her bow down and sits down, holding her hand out for her arrow back. "I let you live because I don't believe in killing Healers. I don't believe in killing defenseless children. I don't fight in fights I know I can win. I don't find honor in hurting or killing those of whom I have an advantage over." She watches Aya curiously. "What's the real reason you crossed the river?"
<Snipped quote by Fionraella>

Jayden raises an eyebrow, but doesn't comment on the girl. "So, what's the plan for you to be able to sneak off? Elauna won't let you do so easily. And we'll be left without a healer..." He trails off with a frown, realizing how much this would affect the Broms.

Destin coughs awkwardly. "So erm...I was hoping to convince Elauna to be the healer...she's always helping me, and she's so good at memorizing certain thngs..." He looks at Jayden guiltily. "I think she would be a good healer for the Broms.."
Aya stares coldly at Elauna for a moment. This girl seemed manipulative at best. Was leaving the care of the Broms in her hands really the best idea? Either way, she didn't want to tell someone like her about Destin. Particularly not with that toe-eating comment. "There's nothing specific really." she tried her best to sound nonchalant. "I just think that the Broms waste intelligent people as fighters when they could be healers. Healing takes much more skill than swinging around a sharp stick."

Elauna ponders that for a moment. She then shifts, crossing her arms at the girl. She gave off more air of arrogance in human form. "Nothing specific, and yet you comment on how wasteful the Broms are. Are you insinuating that I am intelligent and should be a healer, or that Destin is an intelligent human being, therefore in perfect position to be a healer?" She pulls her bow off her back and shoots an arrow which clips the side of Aya's shoe lace before landing behind the younger girl. "Skill comes in many forms. You better be careful with your tone girl."
"Hmm... something like that." Aya looks surprised that Elauna would know such a fact. She seemed to have a good memory for facts then. That was something useful for a healer. Perhaps Destin did know what he was talking about. Even if she did seem condescending, she knew how take control of a situation as a healer should do. This was as good a time as any to bring it up. "So... what do you think about healers?"

Elauna watches the girl curiously, before laughing a bit. Man, this girl sure gets to the point. She smirks a bit. "I like to eat them. Didn't Destin tell you? I've nibbled off a toe or two of his." She sneers at Aya. "Don't get on my bad side or you'll lose a finger perhaps." She chuckles a bit, amused at the turn of this conversation. "You obviously have something very specific on your mind, so spit it out."
<Snipped quote by Fionraella>

Jayden processes what Destin admitted to him. "Hmm... Do you think that's a good idea?" He flattens his ears. "You're not the toughest to start with... this will just put a target on your back." Jayden sits in front of Destin as he thinks. "You'd probably fit in with them better though," he frowns and nods towards the boy. "Get up, I'm trying to help."

Destin blinks as Jayden tells him to get up. He slowly gets back to his paws. "I don't know if it's a good idea, but the Broms aren't the place for me, I think you've noticed it just as much as I have..." He sighs and looks down. "And theres this girl I really like.." He paws at a clump of dirt, not looking at Jayden.
