Jett let out a sigh and shook his head slightly. "You were always the Rabin leader or my girlfriend, Sacha. You just could never bring yourself to be both." He paused for a moment and retreated slightly. "But please don't think that leaving was easy for me. It was one of the most difficult things I've ever had to do," he added, his voice strained.

Sacha nods. "I know it was." She let's some sympathy enter her voice. She sighs heavily. "I'm trying to do better. It is hard to find a balance between the two..." she glances at his face as though searching for something. "Any idea what's in the town for you?"

Jett met her glare evenly. "Well, what do you think I'm thinking?" he challenged, suspecting that any words she put in his mouth in her imagination weren't unbiased. "During those last few months, I asked you so many times, I begged you, to pull back a bit, for my own mental sanity. But you never listened to me."

"I was a new leader! A lot of members were from before I was leader. If I hadn't done everything to be the strongest I could be, then people wouldn't respect me later." Sacha shakes her head a bit. "I'm sorry if that came off as selfish, that wasn't my intent. I was just trying to do best by our group. .."

Jett gritted his teeth and ignored her prodding. He took her offer seriously, and attempted to bring himself back to two years ago. "You've got one of the bravest hearts out of anyone I've ever met, and so I understand the way you always try to protect the Rabins... even if it means putting yourself at risk," he began, his speaking slow and broken up as he tried to find the right words. "But as valiant as you probably thought you were, you were also pretty damn selfish," he stated matter-of-factly.

Sacha gives him a harsh glare for a moment. "If you hadn't been so selfish too, things could have worked out somehow." She sighs heavily, shaking her head. "Though I'll admit maybe I was selfish, but maybe not in the same way as you're thinking."
Bump! :)

Jett let out a frustrated hiss and raced up next to her so he could look her in the eye. "Sacha, I swear to god, sometimes you're so fucking thick-skinned!" he snapped. "I'm sick and tired of you treating me like shit because it seems like you don't even understand what happened between us two years ago."

Sacha snorts as he cuts in front of her. She raises an eyebrow. "Thick-skinned?" She shakes her head. "Right." she rolls her eyes. "Fine then Jett. How about you explain it to me." She sneers. "Simple terms of course, because I may still not understand." She crosses her arms. He was so frsutrating at times!

"But that didn't last forever," Jett pointed out, smirking slightly. He paused, disliking the pain that reminiscing brought him. But as much as he didn't want to remember, he couldn't forget. "Do you remember?" he asked, curious how much of the past she was also unable to forget.

Sacha stops in her walking to face him. "Why the sudden want to know what I remember?" She demands, crossing her arms. "Look Jett, we're not friends. We're never going to be friends again. That part of our lives is long gone. So stop reminiscing." she begins walking again, annoyed at him again.

"I've got a general idea," Jett shrugged, playing with branches between his fingers as they walked on. By now, he had adapted to her hostility that hadn't ceased since he arrived, and he suddenly realized why it felt so familiar. "You hated me the first time we met, too," he chuckled.

Sacha rolls her eyes. "You were a Brom the first time we met. I had every reason to dislike you." She was careful not to use the word hate. She never hated Jett, he just pissed her off whenever they were in the same area.

Jett followed after her hesitantly as she exited the camp. He glanced back as it began to disappear behind them and his eyes glazed over with sadness. He slowly turned his gaze back to Sacha and watched her marching through the forest without hesitation. He smiled and shook his head slightly. She always will be one of the stubbornest people I've ever met, he thought. As the silence began to stretch on between them, he called up to her. "You've changed a bit since the last time I saw you," he said, referencing back to years ago.

Sacha glances back at him. She snorts. "And yet you haven't changed a bit." She shrugs and looks up at the sky. "I hope you figured your shit out the past two weeks." She says, hoping he got the hint he wouldn't be able to come back.

Jett narrowed his eyes slightly. I don't want to forget everything , he thought defensively, just the ending. He glanced around camp and shook his head. "Let's just go," he sighed, not wanting to draw this out any longer than it already had to be. He ducked into his tent, grabbed the small backpack that he had brought with him, and slung it over his shoulder. "We can head back towards the town I suppose."

Sacha nods and grabs her bow from beside her tent. "Alright, whatever you say." She slings the bow over her shoulder and heads for the camp exit. She felt a tinge of guilt for kicking Jett out, but she had to keep her word, and he would just bring up painful memories anyway. She tried to remind herself that nothing he said or ever could do could fix the past.
