Hi all. Currently takibg care of a personal emergency. Will be back and online by the weekend. If you see me online its because i just leave my accpunt on.
Advances in the world would mainly be focused on transportation. Dirigibles and submarines would be more common. Subsequently, the use of a few dials would also be a thing. Some locations, school as prisons and bases would be changed while everything else will mostly stay the same.
Since you mentioned that dials would be a thing I take it the concept of sky islands are now a common thing? As i remember sky islander's were not a common thing in the era Luffy and co existed. Also I was wondering what "Schools as Prisons" indicate, it's a specific enough phrasing that I take it this is a specific idea.
As for location will we be visiting established areas in the canon and if so will they have changed?
Also in terms of arc, since you mentioned initial arc I have to ask if we're starting already as a group or as individuals that will become a group?
The general idea for Mission Control is that there will be a pretty big rotating cast with a minimum of 8 to 10 playable characters at the start. Within those PC's there can be as little as just two PC's or all of our individual players that we created. I imagine starting this with just a small group first with several unconnected arcs, but after a while a much bigger arc will develop all while the team/organization will continue to get bigger and bigger to the point that the cast will involve even non superhero personnel.
I'd like to do a trial run first, with two characters each, going on a joint mission together. They don't have to be super fleshed out and the story itself will be quite short I just want to see if this process will work. Naturally we will make the story together from planning to execution while still leaving a bit of surprise for the each us.
Hi, recently decided to return to this site and try RPing again after what is probably a four year break. To get back into the swing of things I've decided to try for 1x1's that I hope will be quite lengthy.
There's a number of things i'm interested in doing, most of which are listed here, from fleshed out plots to just general ideas. Generally speaking most of these will require you to at least play more than one character, and will require active participation in terms of world building and plot creation outside of just responding to post. I do understand this is a bit much to ask to some, i know it can be for me too, but I want this to be both challenging and time consuming while still being enjoyable.
Everything after this quite is lengthy, which is why everything is in a hide. I don't wanna barrage y'all with a wall of text that you may not be interested in.
The S.S. Titania · The story will take place in the early 2000's. It is about a group of people all aboard a cruise going around the world. The majority of the passengers are upper middle to high class people who can afford such a trip, like various celebrities, middle class families who go on such a trip every few years, and political powerhouses. The ship is an exceptionally luxurious vessel and was designed to be aesthetically similar to the Titanic, but better in terms of utility. These people will interact form bonds and by the end of the cruise, they will leave long lasting impression on one another. That's only the first half of the story though. · The latter half will once character arcs and interactions have been established. It will focus on the action and thriller part of the story. A ship like the S.S. Olympia hold many rich passengers who are bound to attract pirates and other people who will want to take advantage of the fact that over hundreds of people are ripe for the taking. Once the second half occurs, our characters will one way or the other find a way to survive and eventually get the passengers to safety by any means necessary. Starting a rebellion comes to mind. · As the Titanic inspires it the ship will eventually sink, but no one is supposed to die since one of the goals is to stop the pirates and lead the people to safety, How this happens is totally up to the characters. · This is a very character driven story, the first half anyway. Once the second half occurs the pirates, their plans, and what they will do will be set and it's up the player character to deal with the pirates. As the ship is supposed to sink I'll place a bomb in the ship somewhere.

If they succeed in planting fear then the demon escapes into the world. On the other hand, if that person defeats the demon then they can contain that demon within them and gain access to the dark world. In the dark world, they can use the demon's abilities. · This story is about a group of young adults in college who simultaneously defeated their demons in one night and proceeds to explore the demon world. The reason they were able to do this is because a professor who was holding a trial experiment, all four were participants, used them to find a way to in and out of the demon world. The four help the professor explore the demon world to further his research, but soon realize that he plans to bond the two worlds together to cause anarchy and madness because as a child his inner self was invaded by a demon. The Thirteen Colonies • Scientist have predicted that in the immediate future a number of large meteorites will hit the planet. The impending damage will wipe out billions, the few remaining millions will die out in the next few weeks in a short ice age. Humanity will not survive. They devised shelters to protect humanity, but even then they asked themselves what if they failed. As a last ditch effort to save humans each country devised a plan to cryogenically freeze people that would one day repopulate the earth. They would sleep out the death of everyone they loved until the time has come for them to wake up and face the world at it rawest and wildest form. • Project 13 Colonies was America's plan. Thirteen groups of eight people would be frozen, a reference to the thirteen colonies that came to the US. Each group would have one. Each group would contain one guide, a trained survivalist, and seven young and healthy people. The project also allowed them to have the most bunkers, survival pods containing rations, books, and equipment that would help the survivors, and teach them to rebuild modern society located in strategically around the country. • The chosen seven would be plucked from anywhere in the country, unaware of what the future entails, so long as they met the physical and psychological qualifications. Outside of the physical requirements, they also wanted the elites, young people who were the best at their field, gifted, youths that would have the skills and abilities to survive and rebuild society. Their guide would be put under the same criteria, but they will be a trained adult who will protect, guide, and police the chosen seven eight. The only difference would be is that the guide would be fully aware that they would be leaving their lives behind, the seven were going to be kidnapped. • The group would be frozen with their guide and be launched into space. Years later, an on board computer would begin launching pods yearly. The pods would scan a predetermined area to see if it was a suitable environment. Once approved the computer will launch the group down to earth where their group pod would be launched towards a large body of water. After set time the individual pods would begin the thawing process. The guide's pods would be opened first, after which they would check the area and open the eight other pods. Once they wake up all that is left is to survive. • NOTICE: There are two ways i've decided to run this story, one is by having a group that contains Wild Cards, or to have a group made completely of Wild Cards. Wild Cards are the people who are not elite and are their complete opposite in terms of upbringing, background, personality, and skill set. Not too different they're failures, but their characters are more questionable, eccentric, and problematic.
Mission Control • This is a superhero story following a new superhero team made up of formerly independent heroes, and small teams based around a certain part of the country. • This is 100% all about just starting a new superhero universe where heroes have been around for a couple of decades and maybe even a century. • Our characters are government licensed heroes who finished college and wanted to start their own hero agency in a city. At the beginning it will just be a small group, but as the story progresses we'll have bigger and bigger cast etc. • The general theme for this is inspired by the Justice League, Justice League Unlimited, and Young Justice cartoons.

One Piece • This is set in the far future of the current One Piece story, OC heavy in a more technologically advanced setting, but still retains the feel good elements of what makes One Piece good. The general story will follow the same principle, island hopping pirate adventure in search of a great treasure. • In terms of setting it will be very much into the far future. - In terms of timeline the world is currently in the "Booming Age". The Fourth Pirate King just passed after a great 10 year pirate war, which the marines profited highly in. - Airships and submarines are things that can appear in terms of ships, mostly marines. - Devil Fruits are more common, especially Zoans since they're being produced artificially albeit weaker than regular DF's. They can come in regular full animal or partial transformations/specific parts only. - Devil Weapons - weapons imbued with Devil Fruit abilities are in circulation and highly sought after even though the method of the process is still highly unknown. - Devil Pills AKA Rumble Balls - are also highly valued in the black and are well sought out for their ability to bring out side effects/transformations in Devil Fruit users. - Devil Metal AKA Wapometal which allows for transforming weapons and ships are also highly sought after. - The other races/humanoid species are more traversed in and around the grand line even though slavery is still a thing. - Knowledge and travel to the Sky Island are common information.
• The story will begin at the start of the Grand Line with at least a handful of crew members present (minimum four). The story will follow after wherein the first arc is about finding two new members who are native to the Grand Line.
Sense8 • It follows the same premise as that of the show, a group of different people from around the world all telepathically connected. • OC Based, minimum of at least 6 so three characters per user at the least.
Soul Eater • OC based set in the same universe, several years set in the future of the Soul Eater storyline. • Requires multiple characters i.e. each of us will make at least three, one complete pair, and an individual that we will partner with each other.
RWBY • OC Based • It can be set within the school or follow the story of more accomplished hunters in their early years. • To follow along with the general premise, a team of four characters at the least.
DreamWorks’s Dragons and Pirates · It is a story set in the universe of DreamWorks’s Dragons lore. The story follows a small village located in an Archipelago inhabited by Vikings and dragons. The story would later go on to tell the story of the inhabitants of this island and how they become sky pirates.
The following Marvel Universe stories are based on the preexisting Marvel 616 Universe pre-Secret Wars, and borrows elements from certain post-Secret Wars story line. I've aptly called this the Marvel 919 universe, and as such certain story lines will be set in the story line universe I've made at least in terms of where we will be starting off.
Unless otherwise stated please assume that they will require you playing established characters in the Marvel universe and have at least a familiarity with said characters. I'm more than familiar enough with some to fill you in on certain characters. Please note that while the characters that are not OC's have predominantly existed within the background, with little to no exposure or story lines outside of certain titles and major story events, as such their current characterization and background is subject to change, exploration, and free interpretation within reason.
I understand that this requirement of playing non-OC or famous characters may be off putting to some, but i enjoy the challenge of making obscure/unused characters my own and trying to flesh them out as i feel that they deserve better than simply being background fodder or the occasional plot decide/author favorite. If you do not see a name that you feel like should be in said storyline please ask as I may be able to find them for you. These character deserve to be taken away from character limbo.

If something is of interest to you just let me know, I'm more than happy to answer questions and expand more on the premise presented, until you decide on what we can do.
I'd be interested, can i ask what's the range of post quality you're looking for, and story tone in terms of One Piece (early OP which is more slapstick, to Ennies Lobby which is more drama with comedy)?
Also where are we in terms of the worldbuilding, i mean i doubt much has changed, but i'd like to think certain things in terms of technology, lifestyle, and location has changed.
Johnathan has not been outside in days. Going to the corner store to buy candy and soda did not count. Going out implied putting on clothes that did not include the words sweatpants, flip flops, and an old baggy shirt, and at the least clean ones and not three day slept in clothing. In the few days that Jonathan has spent hiding from society he’d ordered takeout food from six different restaurants, and have seen nine different delivery men and women. In turn the delivery people have seen Jonathan wearing nothing but boxers, wallet in hand, eyes twitching, and paint smudges wherever they laid their eyes on. To the untrained eyes of strangers and delivery people they would have assumed that he was a shut in, but the truth is he was just earning money. He just happened to look like a shut in whenever his work consumed him.
Jonathan was an artist, and thankfully not the starving kind. He’s had his fair share of starvation though. He worked for an agency that sent artist to where their skills could be of use. Jonathan specialized in digital character design concept for 2D and 3D art in a fantasy setting. His skill set allowed him to work in field that required a fantastic flair. In the past few days Jonathan has been working for a company that needed art renders for a computer generated short story. His job would end the moment the company green lit some of his designs, which happened the day before. Since then Jonathan still hasn’t left his apartment. He was playing Elder Tale. The concept of stopping anytime soon wouldn’t leave Jonathan’s head for a while.
---
It wasn’t a feeling of waking up because to Jonathan it was a feeling of being hit with cold water right after waking up, or taking a series of vodka shots both woke him up from a state that wasn’t asleep, but not awake. In one moment it he was in sitting down with posture so bad it was guarantee that he would be a small old man, a stack of takeout boxes in one corner, and the smell of a guy who’s been in his apartment for too long, and then in the next moment he was laying down in a grassy field, bow in his hand, and the smell of forest, not that he knew what forests smelled like since he’s never to one. Jonathan knew that he was in a new world, the skies were too blue and rich with clouds, or at the least he could not have been in the city. He guessed the countryside of a faraway country, he was somewhat right.
Jonathan didn’t dare stand up for a while. He laid there taking in the senses. It was one part fear of what he could not see, and one part he enjoyed laying in the soft ground. When he started hearing voices, and not the “in your head” kind, he began to prop himself up using his elbows. There were people who were arguing, or maybe they were just talking very loudly since they wanted to be noticed. There were also people crying, and not the pretty crying that they showed on the small and big screen, it was the ugly snot filled crying children made. And then there were others like him who just stared, laid there, and remained quiet on the outside while their insides were bursting with emotions getting ready to pop when their outsides began to weaken.
Jonathan didn’t take long before he realized where he was. He’s been at this place for so long that he couldn’t help not noticing where he was. He was in Elder Tale plain and simple. If the clothes weren’t a dead a giveaway then the menu screen that appeared in front of him, above people’s heads, and the NPC’s.
The moment he felt like rising he realizing he noticed his body feeling weird. The first thing he noticed was the muscle definition, he couldn’t see through the clothes, but the pronounced muscles were there. When John made Jaune the first time he played Elder Tale he immediately designed it with a lean and athletic build in mind. Thenhe noticed the height difference. Jaune was a little short, but any taller and the character would have looked too odd the young John thought, but because his player character who he now inhabited was much shorter than him the world felt around him so much bigger and heavier. He never figured that being six foot four would come to make him feel vertigo in this way.
Quickly figuring out what he needed to do Jaune decided to move. His new body spawned in a small town just outside of the player city. When it was still a game the town was used to help newbie players move around since they were surrounded by high-level monsters. Jaune would have been scared too, but he was level 80, and they all feared him in this area. His heart sunk at the idea of jumping straight into the chaos that he expected would be in the player city, but he needed to be with people that were reliable and at the least slightly familiar to him. He was going to see some friends.
Name:Johnathan "John" Hernandez-Lau Age:27 Gender: Male
Appearance:
He is a relatively tall, average built young man with black hair, dark skin and lanky build. He tends to be clean shaven, but on days wherein he gets too sucked into his work he will look like a hobo. He has an exceptionally clear and youthful looking face, with an amazing set of pearly white teeth, but sadly his self-confidence doesn’t match his looks.
Background: Johnathan has never really been much into games, and even less when it came to MMO’s. He first started playing Elder Tale in the spring of freshman year in Boston University as a way of coping with the new changes in his life. He moved into the dorms, his parents divorced, he’s questioning his sexuality, and was worried about his future. Elder Tale was only the good and steady thing going on in his life.
He eventually stopped playing Elder Tale around senior year of college to focus on his schoolwork; at the time his character was at level 65, his progress being quite slow given his play style and character creation choice conflicts. In the same year that he stopped playing to focus on graduating he realized that he still had no idea what to do with his life. He graduated from Boston University with a degree in Computer Science.
A year after he graduated he was living with his mother and her new husband. He was working at a small business company as their tech expert, local young guy, and occasional and unofficial IT. He hated his job, he tolerated his stepfather, he had no social life, his then current boyfriend was horrible, and truthfully he hated everything. At the age of 23 and a half he already felt like an 80 year old widow. Taking the advice of his mother Johnathan decided to try something new and enrolled in an art class at the community college. In a short amount of time he discovered something new about himself that made him happy and felt passionate about. In three years’ time he had already quit his old computer science job and now a full time concept artist and computer graphics designer. He had his own apartment, not the best, but it made him feel like an adult.
Elder Tale came back to his life when Johnathan saw an advert for the 12th expansion pack. Jonathan immediately pulled out his old account and started replaying the game. While playing the game he was able to meet some new people that led to various work opportunities, which led to Elder Tale inspired work, With his artwork out there some people contacted him about a possibility for working for the company to hire him for promotional concept art. All in all things were going great for him until the new expansion pack is released.
Personality: He is a pretentious little snob who is incredibly honest and kind of mean. He is confident in himself and his skills. He's mostly pleasant around strangers, but those who know him well will tell you that he is a jerk, granted he is a jerk who cares. In the game he acts the same way, and while he is not the best when it comes to playing in a group, he is very knowledgeable and has a good understanding of how to fight in a group.

Miscellaneous: His preferred play style/build is called “Virtuoso - Curse Song Specialization” It focuses on aiding allies using their Curse Songs to weaken opponents and provide cover attacks. This build is rather unpopular due to the relatively short range of Bard attacks compared to Assassins and Swashbucklers, as well as the lower damage it deals. It is however popular among Bard players who also want to go on solo quests and missions.
