Current @Potemking: I feel as though you may have a masochistic compulsion. I've broken many a controller over Soulsborne games.

Redguards are technically the Arabians of Tamriel, so wouldn't shouting "Haji" make more sense? No disrespect to my Muslim buddies out there, just sayin'.

[2] It can also be effective in subverting the person's expectations. Take for instance Spec Ops: The Line. Looks like a boring military shooter, but is actually a grim look into the horrors of war.

[1]The 'cover' is meant to entice the person into partaking of the medium, just as an album cover would intrigue someone into listening to the music.

She hesitated at first, Harley, but ever cautiously she slipped the silver Smith & Wesson back in the leather holster hanging off her hip.

"Harley." She gave a curt tip of her stetson hat. "I reckon y'all are a peaceful bunch, seeing how y'all ain't shot me yet. but I'm keepin' my eye on y'all. No offense, but I done shot my fair share of varmints, and I ain't afraid to shoot more neither."

She said with a confident smirk, a little finger gun pointed at the two. Three actually as some other young kid came bumbling out into the open, a shotgun in his hands as he spoke some really weird language the Texan never heard before. Harley flinched a little at that. Having a shotgun barrel leveled at her head...it brought back some bad memories.

She sighed, "I'm just lookin' fer a place to rest and gather supplies. I ain't gon be here long, three, four days maybe, then I'll be outta y'alls hair. I need a place fer my horse to rest too. Y'all got one?"
@Nikki Moonlight @DriveEMOut

Harley grit her teeth, her hand slightly shaking as she fought to keep her gun steady, trained on the girl pointing a rifle at her. Weird looking girl she was. Harley had never seen a girl with hair so white...or eyes so pink. Pretty face though, she thought.

"Now I ain't lookin' fer no trouble, ma'am, but if y'all gon keep pointin' that damn gun in my face, I'm liable to git pretty ornery!"

Slowly, she let her revolver down, a brief sigh before answering. "We just got into town, me and Riley here. Figured we'd rest here for the night, but y'all don't look too friendly, 'specially you, friendo." She added lifting her revolver again, this time on the boy with the knife.

"Y'all got alot of nerve pickin' a fight with a lady! What? Mama never teach y'all no manners?"
@DriveEMOut@Nikki Moonlight

As soon as she heard the *shing* of a knife leaving it's sheath, Harley whirled around whipping out her revolver and leveled it on the boy and girl, a cold, hesitant glare to her amber eyes.

"Drop it!" She hollered in a thick southern drawl, clicking back the hammer, Riley letting out a frightened neigh. "I said it drop it, hear? Don't y'all be gittin' any funny ideas!"

Diary Entry 1: The New Wild West...
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The paint horse gently trotted along the desolate stretch of highway, flanked on all sides by abandoned cars, some burned to a blackened char....as were the decomposing corpses that sat as though a collection of macabre statues in the driver and passenger seats. Harley, the young cowgirl who sat atop her trusty steed, she didn't show it upon her stoic face, almost void of any expression at all but a blank and empty stare, but on the inside she was grimacing at the disturbing visage of an untimely and definitely gruesome demise. But....maybe being burned alive or dying in a wreck was a more welcomed way to die....than being slowly eaten alive by...them. The next town...it was only a few feet away now, and Harley desperately needed to gather supplies. Her stomach growled intensely, slightly startling poor Riley, who like his friend, hasn't had anything to eat in days.

Something appeared to Harley now upon the distance, at first a rather few discernible objects, square in shape and a dull gray, but as Riley strode closer to it hoof by hoof, the objects in question soon came into better view amidst the humid, mirage-like haze, and Harley had hoped to God above that it wasn't a mirage. They were buildings, or more properly.....a gas station with a grocery store next to it. Now while horses didn't run off gas, they still ran out of fuel after traveling a long time, especially from Whitesboro all they way to God knows where in this ravaged and God forsaken country, and the same could be said for their riders.

"C'mon boy. Reckon there's still some food in there." Harley spoke to her trusty steed, giving him a slight nudge in the side with her boot. The horse let out a sharp neigh, which startled Harley.

"Damn boy! Y'all wanna wake the whole town?" Cautiously her eyes darted back and forth, making sure they didn't hear anything at all that would alert the presence of....fresh meat.

It wasn't just the nightcrawlers she dreaded. No...when the virus hit her sleepy little town back in Texas...everything came crashing down. Law and order no longer existed. Savages ran rampant, taking whatever they wanted...whoever they wanted.

It was as if the west was wild once again...

Harley had to conserve what ammo she had. It might be mighty hard to fight off hordes of scavengers with just a Bowie knife...especially on an empty stomach.

Her stomach...damn, would it ever quit growling?

@The Critic Hai!! ^o^

@DriveEMOut Anywho, I gotta leave for work soon, so I'll get a post up later tonight. Also, does anyone mind giving a quick recap? Just so I know where everyone is?
