Why did the Tyranid cross the road? Because it consumed the chicken's biomass and assimilated its actions into the hive mind...

"Another thing that doesn't make sense." The ramp lowers, allowing the two inquisitors to exit the ship. "I'm aware of small scale cloaking devices, but to cloak a tower this big? And the heat that was coming off it also wasn't normal! That thing must be hogging some kind of energy. Energy that tribal people wouldn't even know of yet." With careful steps, Aidan creeps closer to the tower until his foot hits something metallic.

"Guess the tower starts here." He looks up, trying to see some kind of distortions in the air, maybe even some flickering. But nothing. It's like there is nothing in front of them. He unholsters his pistol and shoots at ,where he think is, the wall. The 'nothing' looks bend by impact. Aidan looks closer at the spot and frowns. "I'd almost say it's not a stealth field, but the material itself that makes the tower invisible." He looks over his shoulder at Val. "Your thoughts?"
You will be spared... for now then. But I'm keeping my eye on you!
That makes you a succubus! PURGE THE UNCLEAN!
Aidan frowns as he hears her sarcastic tone. "Don't get cocky with me, lady. It was a fair question. However... I forgive you for that idea of yours." He gives her a wink and switches on thermal vision. The entire screen in the cockpit changes color. All the green get's replaced by blue and... Aidan pulls the yoke to the left, making a sharp turn with the ship. The turn is so sharp and sudden, that the artificial gravity loses grip for a split second and things can be heard falling in the back of the ship. Aidan stabilizes the ship and brings it back around before putting it in hover mode.

Before them stands a large red grainy tower surrounded by a blue forest. They were about fifty meters close to it. Had they turned on the thermal vision a second later, they would have collided with it. Aidan swipes his forehead with the back of his hand and let's out a sigh. "Okay, bonus points for that idea. Guess we found our tower."

He switches back to normal vision and looks down for a landing spot. He quickly finds one at (what he thinks) is the base of the tower, and steers towards it.
Aidan grins sheepishly at her and nods. "Yeah, we're ready to go." Now, he would never admit it, but he has actually quite enjoyed that. He shakes his head whilst smiling and makes his way to the cockpit.

Sitting down in the piloting chair, he turns on the engines. "No way we're going to walk through that forest again. Who knows how long we'll have to walk then. If it's directly south of the village it shouldn't be hard to find whilst in the sky." The engines hum as they slowly heat up. Aidan takes the yoke and makes a vertical take-off. He steers the Invictus to the south with and throttles forward with moderate speed.

As far as the eye could see. Only dark green forest. No sign of a tower of some sort. Wait, was that some red over th-... No, no. Just more green. His eyes scan the horizon, hoping to see some kind of landmark. A mountain, a lake, something! ANYTHING! But no, just the green treetops stretching out for miles upon miles.

He turns to Val. "Are you sure it's supposed to depict a tower? I have a feeling I'm going insane if I have to look at all these trees for much longer."
That's what they all say.
@DJAtomika i was going to give you guys the freedom with that, but some guidance won't hurt.
A large circular room with four pillars holding up a dome which seems to have the starry sky painted onto it... On closer look, it's no painting.
Ten fold curses I'd say! She might be a succubus in disguise! PURGE THE UNCLEAN!
Aidan, who went straight to the cockpit as soon as they arrived on the Invictus, was reading the scanners with mixed thoughts. Something wasn't right, and it was right in front of their eyes. The movement in the corner of their eyes, the villagers knowing them, some textures just not feeling right. It all sounded like an illusion, but that was just impossible. Their scanners would have picked up an illusion by now. Maybe the tower held more answers.

A plea for help breaks him out of his concentration. He sighs and makes his way to Vals room. He knocks on the door and enters it. "Is it in a tr-..." He looks at the uncovered chest for just a split second before looking away, slightly blushing. "Ahem, uhm... I guess it's in a hard to reach spot?" His eyes spot the needle gun in her hand and he takes it from her. "Right, just... turn around and I'll help you."

Spotting the cloth in the corner of the room, he walks over to pick it up. He looks back at Val, seeing that she had turned around. The wound doesn't look very critical, but Aidan is well known with the annoyances of pain. Using the cloth, he cleans the wound a bit more before readying the needle gun. "Alright, on three. One... two..." With a sly smile he stabs the needle gun in the flesh near the wound, injecting Val with the pain relieving fluid.
He could smell her when she was this close. There was a hint of perfume mixed with sweat of combat. Quite nice actually. Aidan blinks a few times to focus on what she's saying. "Hm... I'd say taking a look at that tower seems like our best option at the moment. Good job Val." He turns around, but didn't notice just how close Val was to him. They are almost face to face before Aidan quickly takes a step back and coughs. "Uhm... However, we should return to the Invictus for now and take a look at that wound of yours. We shouldn't risk a journey through a thick jungle whilst that is still recovering." Clearly wanting to leave the small hut with the awkward vibe, Aidan almost rushes outside into the open air.

Letting out a sigh of relief, Aidan looks over his shoulder at the hut he just left. "What am I doing? You're supposed to be a professional, Aidan.", he mutters to himself.
