We're all still here, right?
Behold Vehrna, in all her Lawful Good glory!
Lady Vehrna Solinus
Vehrna sighed deeply as she took in the... Er, sights. As much as it irritated her, she couldn't let go of certain... traits of her nobility. Such as a disinterest in such... simple places as Blackford. It was not disdain, however. Indeed, she would guess her siblings would constantly complain about such a place. No, she understood on a basic level that this was a rather nice village. Clean, peaceful, well-maintained... It just lacked a certain... opulence. Maybe she just wasn't as free from the desire of pointless luxuries as she thought? Perhaps she just needed more time to adjust, was all.

The Inn, however, was a different matter. This building unnerved her, it seemed menacing. But... She doubted she would feel that way if she hadn't received these orders she had been given. She was still wary of them, after all. Was this an elaborate plot to murder her? She had acquired a small amount of renown, but not the sort that would attract assassins... At least, that's what she thought. While she did not need the coin necessarily, she did know one thing; if the job payed this well, it was bound to be important. She had ruled out that the job would be... Immoral. You could hire a lowlife to do it for far less, and still have him convinced you're paying him a fortune. No, they needed a Knight. She took a deep breath, marching across the street and through the door.

Now, there was a subtle distinction between an Inn and a Tavern. An Inn was a place for travelers to rest that provided food and short-term living arrangements. A Tavern was where lowlifes went to get drunk and then pass out. She hated Taverns with a passion, they were an absolute nightmare for her. All because she was a woman, and a pretty one at that... or so she was told. Drunks trying to court her, drunks picking fights with her because they thought her weak, even more drunks attempting to con her because they thought her stupid... And to say nothing of the attempted gropes. No sir, you didn't just 'bump into me'! Inns however, were far less of an ordeal. And it was clear this place was truly an Inn. That being said, there were dangers.

The most pressing issue, was how much she stood out from the common man. She was tall for one, and her immaculately polished armor was another. Fancy armor? Knight. Knight? Noble. Noble? wealthy. Pickpockets were such a problem that she had to keep her coin in increasingly convoluted hiding spots. Today, in her boot. Obvious, yes, but impossible to steal without her noticing. The place was mostly empty however, the benefits of arriving early in the morning. There seemed to be a pair of other patrons, a... child by the looks, and an apothecary. She was slightly unnerved by his attire, but she had heard that diseases could potentially be repelled with such an outfit. Besides, if he was... unsavory, it would be easy to subdue him.

He appeared to be peddling... Oh, great. Another of these fools. 'Cure-alls' and the like. It made her sick, taking advantage of one's vanity like that for profit... Not that she hadn't bought any such products herself. Not to use, mind. Indeed, she would toss them out as soon as she was out of sight. No, she found buying a bottle to be the only way to get them to... well, be silent. Polite refusals were only met with aggressive insistence, a more belligerent approach merely disturbed the peace... No, she had more than enough coin to spare, a bottle here and there was a non-issue. Unfortunately, she had forgotten the detail that she would have companions on this quest... the thought that either of those two could be travelling with her was not considered. "Good morn, Madam." She said, slightly bowing her head politely as she slid her coin across the counter. "I Was given this coin and instructed to ask for the fourth room of this establishment... Am I mistaken?" She asked, her expression serious, with a certain sincerity to it... Clearly, the thought that maaaybe this job was supposed to be kept as low-key as possible was lost on her.
Grey Onyx

Grey sighed, dusting his hands as he found a rock to lean the boy against. He had simply taken his leave of the other two, Not keen on causing Mar any more stress, inadvertent though it was. No, he had a job to do. Athalus and leith were available as well, which eased his fears somewhat. Between Leith's gauntlet-assisted might, Athalus' skill, and his own endurance, they could likely handle anything the child could throw at them... If he were capable of removing the chains and ropes Grey bound him in, at least. He sighed, leaning down to wake the child when he saw... a woman, was it? He tensed when he got a better look at her, reaching for his axe and his shield... He had forgotten the child could manipulate those, and had foolishly brought them with him. This turned out to be for the best, it seemed.

Judging from her... less than sane appearance, she was probably one of the mages they sought, and after a rather hideous laugh, Athalus confirmed his suspicion. He looked behind him, letting out an audible gasp of shock when he noticed the the crazed... Well, pyromancer was obvious at this point... He barely registered another one too... Yeah, these were the rogue mages, they must be. His mind raced, assessing the situation... One combatant here, three allied warriors, two combatants over there, two allied warriors... He needed to go help Mar and Coco, three men on one lunatic was overkill when they could have the numbers in two places... But who to send?... Athalus, the others were a ways off, and Athalus had a crossbow.

He looked forward, narrowing his eye as he regarded the elf, she had his full attention now... "Athalus, head back and assist the others, Leith or I would never make it in time." He ordered, slowly strafing to the side a few paces... Just what tricks did this girl have up her sleeve...
So, @Freeshooter92, it has been long enough that I suppose we should start the attack. I think I'll post today having Ssarak fly above the trees and waiting for the attack, then you can have Alaira move in. Does that sound alright?

Cool, I'll get on that soon as I'm able.
Anyone need.... uh... Hm.

I just realized I have nothing to sell, save beatings. Eh, fuck it. Who wants a beating? Only five silvers.
I take it this is the place to post the CS now. I also managed to delete everything I wrote (not the first time) so I want to get this down rather quickly as I'm dead tired and should have gone to sleep already. Hope I didn't miss anything rewriting it.

What is this, a picture for ants?
Lady Vehrna Solinus

Gender:
Lady.
Age:
27
Personality:
Honorable to a fault, kind, brave, and naive, all of these words and more describe Vehrna. She embodies knightly virtue, much like her brother before her. She strives to live up to him, and always puts her all into every task. However, her ardent nature can lead her to overexert herself sometimes. She can become indecisive, and often struggles with moral dilemmas that have no clear answer. She abhors suffering, and has a habit of blaming herself for such things as she was unable to stop it... even if such things were completely out of her control and are not her fault. She's friendly, and has a habit of getting along with most people, though she is not fond of those she percieves as lazy, ungrateful, or manipulative.
History:
Vehrna is quite the unusual person; a female Knight. Born to a relatively minor noble family of the kingdom of Mortis, she didn't have a very hard life ahead of her. Indeed, she could have chosen to merely waste her life away as an ordinary noble like her sisters. But, she always wanted... more. Ever the kind soul, she wished to help the people... though as the third daughter, the chances of her ever having the influence to do so were slim. She wasn't quite fond of most of her family, viewing them as lazy and uncaring. While not tyrants by any means, she thought they were more concerned with whatever event they hosted next or their coffers, rather than the needs of the people of their town, Kite's Point (a mining town named for its founder).

The exceptions were her father Leonhardt, and her eldest brother Victus. She idolized her brother, an honest, heroic sort that was training to become a knight, as opposed to her other four brothers, who seemed content to fool around with political machinations. Between the bedtime stories of knights and monsters her father would tell her, and her desire to be just like her brother, she sought to become a knight herself. While most people (her mother included) would scoff at such a notion, her father supported her. After all, he was confident she had what it takes, and he didn't want her wasting away in a courtly life she didn't want.

Victus was also supportive, if a tad over-protective. The two trained for years, though she would had to learn an additional skill or two, chief among them smithing. While her... proportions were modest, she still fit into armor designed for men rather poorly. Thus, she'd have to learn how to make and rework armor herself considering that women's plate was rarely for sale (To be honest, plate ain't common in general). She trained as hard as any would-be knight should, and on her twenty-fifth birthday, she was knighted.

Victus... couldn't make it. A month prior, he had been wounded in a bandit raid, and while the wound was small, he had taken ill; the bandits were armed with poor, rusty excuses for weapons. He had died not three hours before her ceremony. She had little reason save her father to remain at the town, and at her father's urging she decided to leave. She travels to this day, offering her services as a warrior to the people of Mortis. Recently, she had found a bag of gold coins beside her bedroll when she awoke, along with a note... an odd job it seemed, but she never turned down a job if the cause was just, and such a huge sum of money was not thrown around for trivial matters...
Skills:
Equipment: Vehrna is adept with certain equipment, able to use and maintain them with great skill. They are as follows; Spears, lances, swords, shields (Of any size, save bucklers. She never could get the hang of them), Plate Armor, Mail, Smith's tools (she is no master smithy, however).
Reading: Vehrna can read.
Riding: While she makes no claims to be the best, Vehrna is a skilled horsewoman.
Smithing: Vehrna can work a forge, and while she's not the best smith in the land, she's skilled. She mostly puts her know-how to use in repairing things, rather than making new things.
Cookin': Vehrna is a surprisingly good chef.
Skilled Knight: Vehrna is a formidable combatant that knows how to put her arms and armor to best use. That being said, don't think her helpless unarmored; It's the woman you have to worry about, not the suit.
Cards: Also surprising is how the woman manages to win nearly every card game she plays. This results in most people only playing with her once or twice.
Equipment:
A suit of plate armor with metal boots (for fighting on horseback), one pair of hide boots (for fighting on foot), a large shield, a spear, a sword (usually left with the horse), a Horse named... uh... Horse (The stablemaster named him, not her), saddle, saddle bags, a pack, four waterskins, trail rations, a considerable total of coins (Many of which are gold. This generally proves her nobility, as opposed to her just stealing someone else's armor and calling herself such), purses for coins, leather gloves, two sets of common clothing, one fine set of clothing, one pair of shoes, a fine cloak, flint and tinder, two empty bottles, bedroll, cooking utensils, maps, bounties, a kit for maintaining her equipment (containing whetstones and spare straps for her armor, among a few other things), an emergency medical kit (containing bandages and healing poultices), and two bottles of high-grade armor polish, along with a cloth. And a deck of playing cards.
Magical knowledge?

While she has heard and enjoyed the tales, she knows absolutely nothing about how any of it worked.
