While food may not be required for all characters, a test of your loyalty to the ship, Captain, and a sign that you are not also secretly a spy will obviously be eating at least three full servings of Caterpillar cooked food.
All as part of the "death to other spies" initiative of the spymaster.
Okay given those definitions... The world my character would be from is currently in a state of true neutral. One side seeks to preserve the planet's life after its star has dimmed out(No entropy = extropy, favorable to stasis) while the other seeks to progress the planets descent into its death (favorable to entropy, as well as change), so the two sides would cancel each other out and carry their own alignments?
At some point in a planet’s lifetime it will eventually die. It’s stars will go dim or explode, the grass will curl up; brown and decayed, and all life will begin to perish. Many races across the galaxy choose to leave their planets at this time, some will surrender themselves to fate and let ruin swallow their world. Bellanovans chose a different approach, and fought to protect themselves from creeping decay. Scientist toiled to work around their dimming sun, creating devices to make light, technology to artificially replace the air, and whatever challenge that came their way was met. Bellanova continued to thrive long after their star barely shined. Their technology was so advanced the residents lived right along with sentient androids, lived artificially long life times, and caused them to become one of the many planets known for absolutely stellar gadgetry to advance life elsewhere.
Death does not like to be escaped, however, and practitioners of magic began to notice the powers of darkness edging at their world. The forbidden art of necromancy rose among the ranks of the immoral warlocks, adapting itself to the rich technology of the world and creating monstrosities of death and machinery. Known as Virals, cyborgs of almost eldritch affinity were created from this evil, and wrought destruction upon Bellanova. These necromancers and their abominations waged war on the planet, seeking to claim it for the death that was evaded. Devouring machine and flesh alike, they added to their ranks, infecting the world with a sickness that would surely destroy it.
Desperate to keep their world alive, leading scientists combined their focus with the remaining good in the magical community to create marvels of cyber technology. In contrast to the eldritch sickness creeping upon the world, the sleek and shining exoskeletons of the Vaccine came upon the world. Casting light and judgement on the Virals, Vaccines brought a defense system against the abominations. Spearheaded by the world’s government, they brought order back to the planet… or so they thought.
Extra Info: This RP is going to focus on the fight between the Virals and the Vaccine. Players will be able to join one of the two sides, to either stand on the side of perceived fate or to strive to survive and let life flourish for as long as it can. Being set in a science-fiction universe yet with elements of a fantasy setting, this roleplay allows for most anything to happen. Players can take on the roles of the humans native to Bellanova, the machines and androids being used to wage war, or a member of an alien race; seeking only to aid in the fight.
All players will find themselves on either side of a battlegrounds in the war, a city under the name of Pleroma, the capitol of the world. Half the city has been plunged into darkness by the Virals, the other half being held stalwart by the vaccine. Trapped from all sides by the Vaccine, the Viral begin the build up to a hail-mary in order to cause mass chaos and overtake Bellanova's greatest stronghold. Those on the side of the Viral will start by finding their place in the attack coming in 3 months, while those on the side of the Vaccine will be running around the A.V.C.C. (Anti Viral Command Center) strengthening their defense and preparing for any surprises
I'll be looking to have at least 5 other people show interest, and an even spread among the two factions, before I begin. I'll allow for suggestions in world building, and try and make it a team effort after I lay down the framework if you choose to take interest. I'm also expecting people who are adept with their writing and can offer the work and drive needed to keep this thing alive.
See I was thinking along the lines of a sentient android-like creature from a dying planet torn in a never-ending war between life and death, science and magic, fate and those with the courage to change it. Fed up with the "right" side of the war, yet morally obligated not to join the "wrong" side, they instead leave the planet in search of somewhere they can actually be themselves. Of course they'd bring with them some pretty cool machinery and cybertechnology to aide the pirates in both navigation and things that require a more scholarly touch. He'd be kinda eerie (due to being, essentially, a robot), but all around good natured. He'd also use weaponry from his home planet, a place known for their atypical tech, fusing magic and technology into some otherworldly results :3
Edit: In reference to your alignment, I love the idea. Considering the nature of wars, aliens, and other things, however, placing an alignment on entire worlds may not be as good of an idea xD
OMG I come back to RPG to look for a game and I find one spearheaded by motherfucking @Dead Cruiser. I don't remember how I know you I just remember your awesome and something vague about transgender nature spirits. Color me interested if there is room :U
I already have a loose idea for a character based on a world I haven't created yet involving a mesh of tech and magic so this is a good point to get my wheels turnin on the subject 8D
Edit: I also call a position of Ship Archaeologist/ Wiseman/ Scientist. IDK, just someone super smart and a little scurry.
Edit #2: While I can still edit, I assume sentient robots are okay?
Name: Blaine Waykin Age: 21 Gender: Male Race: Human Nationality: Vale Appearance: Blaine is a pretty tall dude standing around 6'4, towering over most people he meets but still looks up to some people. "Tall, Dark and Handsome" is a really good phrase to use for him, would be fairly intimidating to stare up at if it wasn't for the fact he was almost always wearing a huge ass goofy smile. He is of very dark skin and can often times be a little hard to see in conditions of low light if not for the bright yellow trim to most of his clothing as a homeage to the name his parents gave him.
Blaine was given his name after being born with striking yellow eyes like a cat's, often mistaked for a sign of being a Faunus, but he is in fact human. The trait of yellow eyes gives him an extra sense of unsettlingness. Genetically nobody is really sure where they came from, but it is suggested it has something to do with his rather strong soul shown through a rather strong and versatile semblance. Others see that as silly, considering Blaine breaks down rather easily when the buttons are pressed right.
Other than that he has fairly pleasant, round features making him seem somewhat boyish when his face isn't contorted to a strong negative emotion. His hair is rather short on the sides but is stacked curl on top of curl on the top of his head, especially where his bangs are that he has constantly styled up and to the side giving his hair an appearance of a black, whispy fog.
When it comes to clothes he's often seen dressed in all black clothing that has been trimmed heavily with bright yellow designs, almost like runes or some dead language, twirling about and almost glowing in the sunlight. Sometimes the yellow patterns are in the shapes of clouds, tree branches, or other things in nature. Regardless of the designs he sports on his clothes one can often be mesmerized or lost in the patterns if they stare too long. He actually gets most of his clothes from his grandma who has nothing better to do than to sew her grandson beautiful clothes. If someone were to rip an especially important piece of clothing he'll often fly into a fit of rage.
Personality: Blaine can be somewhat campy and sarcastic, and at other times perverted and a little desperate. He's a generally fun dude to be around but some more uptight or regal individuals would find him rather annoying to be around and a lot of such people disregard him as some societal deviant who doesn't deserve their time of day.
His rather humorous and happy-go-lucky nature masks a much more deeply serious and philosophical person, but being too serious depresses Blaine so he likes to spice things up every now and then to keep himself from getting bored. When in a fight he can grow really quiet and sometimes cold and calculating, but will still crack a joke or two when appropriate.
Blaine is also a rather needy extrovert, and needs to constantly be within arm's reach of a friend or a group of people in order to maintain his composure. When this is not possible he will often implode on himself and experience depression. As loneliness continues he'll grow cold and angry and show a side of himself that isn't very pleasant. On solo hunting missions it creates a Blaine that can be needlessly ruthless
Aspiration: Blaine has already succeeded in becoming a hunter, he doesn't know what he's really supposed to do now. He expects that just fighting till his last breath to protect his nation and those families in it will be enough for him, but at times he wonders if he's meant for something more, or for someone else.
Fears: Being completely alone in the world with nobody to count on or trust
Ethics: Blaine sees the world through the lens of "love." If something does not line up with his idea of what love is then he disapproves of it. Love to Blaine is much more of a spiritual concept that an emotion between two people, which leads to some people not quite understanding his views.
History: Blaine grew up in a small town in the middle of pretty much nowhere. The place was rich with culture and crawling with history and relics of the older civilizations scattered about underground and amidst the woods. Ever since Blaine was a kid he idolized the hunters that guarded the inhabitants of the town and would watch them at the edge of town, sparring or laughing with their friends. The town hunters grew to love Blaine and his dorky nature and often told him of their stories. Being so enthralled with them he decided at a very young age he was to be a hunter.
So with his decision made, Blaine worked every day to train his physical body for the challenge. He'd pick up tree limbs and use them as swords, move boulders twice his size by using more of his wits than his strength, he even scaled massive trees and hung out in the branches mid-day in the shade of the leaves, napping his cares away.
Blaine's parents were always worried about him, they didn't want to lose their son to the hateful creatures of Grimm that crawled along the world. Blaine never took much care for such worries, if he died he'd die in glory and not without spilling some blood to be sent off in like a boat on a gory red sea. His grandfather often spurred him on much to his parent's dismay, boasting about how his grandson was to be a hunter like he had been back in his glory days.
One day a year before he was to head off to Beacon, he was sleeping in one of his trees and lost track of time. Evening rapidly enveloped the town and night fell, the light of the moon waking him up as it shone just right amongst the darkness. As he came to the waking world he could hear crunching and screaming below, the clang of metal and the smell of gunpowder struck at his senses like sledgehammers.
Dropping to the ground from the tree he found that his town had been over-run by a large heard of grimm. Without thinking he dashed off to the house of his parents, praying to whatever gods there were that they were alright, but as luck would have it he would be an orphan from that day on. The shillouette of his grandfather was the firt thing that came into sight when he neared his house. Slumped against a massive greatsword that had once been his weapon, his grandfather was panting, trying to gorge his lungs with air, but failing as his breath puffef out his lips as he sobbed. Blaine's grandfather had been too late as well, the house had been one of the first to be destroyed by the enslaught.
Blaine blamed himself for his parent's death every day after that, but was never able to come to the realization that he did nothing wrong and that no blame was on him, he has to insist that he could have at least saved one of them. He promised to his grandparents that he would become a hunter if not to do anything but avenge his parents, blood for blood, and protect as many families as possible from the horror the grimm were capable of.
He was never quite stable after those events, and when feelings of loneliness start inking in he relives that night over and over in his mind.
Semblance: A wind-based semblance that creates high speed winds in an area around Blaine whenever he moves, when focused the semblance can produce vacuum waves which cut at whatever they're aimed at, the semblance is unusable when motionless.
Combat Style: Blaine's style is to counter-act any attack that is focused at him and will use a combination of his semblance and his dual-katars to deflect the attack away from him. To see him as a primarily defensive fighter would be a disadvantage to an opponent, however, due to his natural high speed and reaction time giving him adequate offensive capabilities.
Weapon: Dual push daggers, rather simple for a hunter. His weapons do not double as a long ranged weapon due to his semblance allowing him to create vacuum waves with his katars to hit from a distance.
Non-Combat skills: Blaine is a highly skilled musician by using his wind semblance to create different pitches by sliding the air along various surfaces or through various tubes, he does so while dancing as his semblance requires movement, which creates a rather awesome spectacle to behold at times. He's also pretty good at getting under people's skin or into their good graces.
Deficiencies: Despite being a wonderful musician he cannot actually sing, he can not take a hit, being rather weak when it comes to brute defensive capabilities, and if it wasn't obvious he cannot fight in water.
