Virathus' hand was fine, though he did stretch the fingers and heard a few cracks, nothing serious. Knife back in hand he finished his lunch and ate it on his bed in silence. Shockingly the Wolkar respected his demands and their verbal exchanges remained low. Before long the two days in space seemed like nothing and Shad-noir was in sight. Suiting up in his full REAPER armor he went to the pilot's chair and booted up the terminal getting ready for their drop out of warp space and to resume manual control. "Wolkar, get in here! We are about to arrive." He shouted back into the hull of the ship.
Just to add more of an explaination for time frames in Litharian time. When I say, Litharian Galactic Date 5371-334. That means when I started an action. So in my last post we started at date 5371-233 and then a few days ticked by from there to cover the actions. So the HAMMER took of probably at 5371-236. The search teams probably came about around 5371-235, maybe 5371-236. It's a tad strange, but I'm working on making things work all pretty like.
Litharian Galactic Date 5371-234, Unknown Station. The Litharians patiently waited for the Wolkar to work, assisting where they could and finished setting up their data cores within the first few days. When the patrols in the station continued to yield nothing command issued a fall back order and they became guards stationed around central command and the immediate vicinity. Similarly after about two or three days the docked HAMMER took off back into space and began a tight patrol around the station since no threats existed in inside they could only come from the outside. Still several teams were left on the station just in case.
Virathus had to physically hold back the urge to hit Rennac. Teh further he went with his song the urge grew. And while he had a point with teh quote after the urge continued to grow and resisting it was... ah fuck it. Virathus wound back and socked the Wolkar right in the shoulder, making sure to pack some heat behind it. "I'm done talking to you until we get to Shad-noir." And with that Virathus turned back to unwedge the knife from teh cutting board so he could finish lunch.
Litharian Galactic Date 5371-233, Unknown Station. While the Wolkar were busy attempting to decipher the alien code the Litharian scientists began to create and partition special data core for storing the data should the Wolkar break through the code and find recoverable data. Still throughout the station search squads patrolled the now lit halls with a more easy feeling. A creepy abandoned station with no light is always scarier that a creepy abandoned station with light.
Virathus was dicing up a selection of fruit when Rennac made his little remark. And when he mentioned that moment his muscles tensed and the knife dug into the cutting board, sinking in deep. He then turned abruptly towards Rennac attempting to point the knife at him, but the knife stayed behind in the board. Almost causing him to double take, but in an attempt to recover he just pointed at the Wolkar instead. "We will never talk about that day again." He then looked down at the beverage in his hands, attempting to take it one in a single falling action. "I won't be associated with a raunchous drunkard. We never will go back to that bar, and you will never sing that song again for as long as I live." His words while mean didn't really advocate malicious intent. He meant them, but he was starting to like the Wolkar.
Finally this was enough to get Virathus to open his eyes and turn his head, "You can call me Reaper." In that moment he stood up and began to walk off towards the bunks. The ship could basically fly itself to their destination and he hasn't had lunch yet. Once at the bunks he pressed a button on the wall and it folded down to make a small table with a sink and heat-chamber built in. Then he started to prepare some Yithru, a traditional Litharian dish comprised of mostly Litharian fruits but also some grains.
Virathus listened passively to Rennac's story. It wasn't something he experiance or could truely relate to, but it was something he could understand. When his parents were killed eh wanted to avenge them, but who would he go after? Who would he kill? They died heroes of war not victims of a drive-by. "I'm glad you found closure. I know what it feels like to want a satisfying conclusion. Even if it isn't the ideal." He said, still not turning his head or opening his eyes. "As for a joined galaxy, who knows maybe we wont' see it, but I know it can happen. The Karadons and Litharians have been living, building, and working together for centuries. Now? Now we are family, race and planet of origin mean nothing to us anymore. But not all races are like the Karadons and it isn't as easy to accept and integrate them." He finished reaching up with his arms to fold them behind him head.
Virathus decided that if he was going to deal with this Wolkar it would be best to not be a total stranger. "So, Rennac Shadow of Clan Shadowclaw. Why come to help us with this mission? Your race owes us nothing and we owe you nothing." When Rennac attempted to trace the hole it was almost instantly shut out. It didn't go to anywhere other that the ship's internal systems. Whatever was working through this hole had this breach build like a fortress. As for the firewall attempt the wall was placed around it and seemed to be holding.
Virathus nodded again, "Sounds like a good idea." He flicked a few more screens on the terminal before setting it to sleep and unstrapping himself from the chair. Instead of getting up he simply closed his eyes and tilted his head back. Mind as well relax while he still could. Danger was a the horizon so quiet became a pleasure. What about this Rennac character though. A strange bird to be honest, but he seemed to know a deal about systems, when he wasn't blackout drunk and making a scene.
