"Write drunk, edit sober," is a viable strategy until you realize anything you write just divulges into offbeat ramblings.

Still in this, sorry for the delay! There's no school today so I'll definitely have something up soon.
Wimena pressed a hand to her wound and winced. Pulling her hand away, she saw red glistening on her skin. "That isn't good..." she mumbled, her head beginning to spin. "The beast...it managed to nick me."

Marcella nodded and gripped Cooper's hands. "Calm down..." she soothed. Concern glimmered in her eyes as she grabbed her bag. "Take me to him as fast as possible. I'll see what I can do."
Wimena looked around wildly as the beast disappeared, as if the creature might ambush them from the shadows of elsewhere. Yet the town was empty, save for the battered combatants. She eyed Taroyn with a slight hesitance, Eve's vague explanation doing little to subdue her tenseness or befuddlement. "But I thought his brother was...?" The halfling sighed and shook her head, quickly moving to the fallen woman's side. "We'll talk about this tomorrow. Right now we have to recover and make sure the townspeople are okay." Her words slurred slightly. The claw wounds from the beast had been reduced to a dull ache as she forced herself to remain standing.
WOOPS
Things are seriously heating up hurhurhur.
Wimena raised the shield, but my before the beast managed to graze its claws across her stomach. The halflin hissed in pain and moved back, the wound beginning too burn. Hopefully it wouldn't be too bad.
The smell of smoke and a flicker of orange caught her attention as alarm shot through her. A fire? Now of all times?! The halfling skirted around the beast and headed outside, turning to see flames engulf the barn. As she stared into the rapidly growing fire, an inkling of an idea sparked in her mind. A stupid idea, granted, but still worth a shot. "What if we trap it in the barn?" Wimena suggested as she turned to those that had run out.
Beast just walked in the wrong neighborhood. Village. Island. Well, you get the point.
Wimena took off towards the town as soon as her feet touched the earth. Her sword and shield drawn, her breath hitched in her throat the moment she saw the beast. The first night suddenly didn't seem so frightening. At least then the beast had been held off by spells and walls. But now, however, the hellish creature was hindered only by its attackers. In the midst of the blows, the halfling dashed behind the beast and slashed its hind legs several ones, before raising the shield and backing away to block any incoming claws.
