@Galactic Hero I'll whip up my CS. I don't want to, to be honest, Keep you waiting with a drawing.

As a question, is being maybe one of the Pilots acceptable, seeing as they usually have a good background?

No worries! It should be okay, yes.
Looking forward to reviewing the sheet. Again, I won't get anything properly reviewed for a few hours, until I have completed my driving theory test, gotten back home an' all that.

Well, to fix that, you could add a "Possibly Force Sensitive, yes/no" to the CS

I think it's fine as-is, it shouldn't be much of a problem.
@Galactic Hero
I'd have the idea that nobody actually creates a seperate force sensitive person. As far as I have read, you don't really know yourself thhat you are force sensitive, so you should choose one of the characters to be sensitive. If you get what I am trying to say...

I get what you're saying, and it's true that whether or not your character is force sensitive may have a pretty limited impact on the creation of your character, depending on how you go about it. It is also true that characters who are force sensitive may not entirely know they are force sensitive. On the other hand, however, people may want to incorporate their character being force sensitive into their sheet (force sensitives often had a lot of extraordinary 'luck' and 'good guesses' throughout their lives, for example) in a way, and it also it makes it easier for me to distinguish between who is comfortable writing for a force sensitive and who is not.
Lovely to see so much interest! I have my driving theory test today, so I may be somewhat quiet for a few hours until after the test, though I will be free all day afterward to review character sheets and answer any questions.

Will you have a character limit, btw? As in, will you only accept a certain amount of characters before you close applications?

I hadn't initially thought to apply a character limit, and I still don't think I will. Each 'adventure' the group ends up in can be tailored slightly, for a larger group or smaller group, so I'm just going to see how many CS's are submitted and we'll go from there. To answer your question, though, there is no character limit at the moment. (Each writer may only write for one character, however)
Wanted to know if I could reserve the force sensitive spot.

I know it can be inconvenient, but I generally don't go for first-come-first-serve. By all means, create a character for the role and I'll look them over, but I would like to give others a chance to create a character for the role, if that is what they wish to do. Again, I am aware that this can be an inconvenience for those who create a character for the role and do not get it, but I think it's fairer than a first-come-first-serve system.
The OOC is now up. I look forward to getting started!

Again, feel free contact me with any questions you may have. I am also creating a chatzy chatroom, to make it easier for the group to collaborate/keep in touch.

Hello! Thank you for showing interest in the roleplay. The link to the interest check is here, but I'll give a brief explanation of what I'm looking to create for any newcomers!
The first thing to note is that this roleplay takes place after Episode IV: A New Hope, and considers the films (Episodes 1-4) to be canon. However, everything in this roleplay will be entirely original and while canon characters (such as Darth Vader/Palpatine) may still be alive and mentioned, they will not appear in this roleplay.

Set ten years after the 'Battle of Yavin', the battle at which the Rebel Alliance was destroyed along with their base on Yavin IV when the Death Star was successfully deployed, the galaxy has entered into its darkest period yet. Luke Skywalker and the 'heroes' of the rebellion have not been heard from, and all pockets of resistance have been successfully stamped out by the Galactic Empire in a brutal clampdown on rebellion activity after their defeat at Yavin IV. Racism toward non-humans has flourished under the Galactic Empire, with non-humans being considered 'second-class' citizens and treated appropriately. While it has yet to be done, many expect slavery to be re-introduced. Anybody with suspected ties to a rebel cause is summarily executed by the Empire, and their families are imprisoned indefinitely, leading to a fear among the populace so strong that they are more likely to expose a rebel agent in place of joining them.

The Hutt Cartels have been forced to be more secretive with their dealings, after the Galactic Empire began a campaign to limit their influence in the Outer Rim. A bitter conflict between the two forces is ongoing, with thousands of innocents being caught in the middle of the two sides, both of which are guilty of atrocities. The Empire has committed countless massacres of small, village populations 'loyal' to the Hutt Cartels, while the Cartels themselves are guilty of increased illicit activity to fund their guerrilla campaign against the Galactic Empire. Now known as the 'Spice War', it is the 'main event' in the galaxy.

To sum up, I'm looking to collaboratively build our own, small Star Wars adventures. This is about, above all else, collaborating to create an engrossing, believable set of events that surround our unprepared heroes as they try to do only one thing. Survive.

  • Posting As this is a high-casual roleplay, please ensure all posts have at least three paragraphs. I am considerate and welcoming of all levels of writing ability, and I look to enforce the paragraphs simply because I feel as though, in order to reach the development and detail sought after, any less wouldn't cut the cake. In addition, if you are interacting with another character, feel free to create a collaboration together!
  • Respect This is a given, so I won't dwell on it much. Respect one another, we're looking to collaboratively create a story in a fun environment, after all!
  • Characters Flaws! Flawed characters make the best characters! Please do not submit characters with the intention of making them 'better' than everybody else. Crucial to this roleplay is the idea that the characters in it have found themselves thrust into a situation they do not particularly want to be in, and in many regards, are not ready for. Therefore, an incredibly powerful character is simply not going to fit.
  • Characters #2 Characters must have a 'questionable' background, for they will begin the roleplay in the custody of the Galactic Empire. That said, feel free to be creative! Maybe they were stitched up. Maybe they had debts they had to pay off. It's up to you!
  • Permanent Death The permanent death of characters is a possibility in this roleplay. Naturally, this would be discussed with the player of the character, and this is in place to ensure that feeling of 'survival' flows throughout the roleplay. Would you dare cross the Hutt Cartels? It is decisions like those, for example, that will drive the roleplay as your characters simply try to survive. Something that will be far harder than it may seem. Perhaps all of the characters will survive, or perhaps only one. That depends entirely on how the collaborative story progresses.
  • Romance Romance is allowed, but please keep it PG-13 and the sorts. Regular guild rules apply here.
  • Have fun!

"Having looked at the setting our roleplay will take place in, we now come to you. For your own variety of reasons, you have found yourself on the planet of Tatooine, located in the Outer Rim territories. Caught in the midst of the Spice War, things could not be worse for you, having been recently brought under the custody of the Galactic Empire. Now, you are en-route to the spaceport of Mos Eisley, where you will no-doubt board an Imperial Prison Transport, bound for a penal colony in a remote corner of the galaxy where you will live out the rest of your undoubtedly painful days.

Until the Jedi appeared, that is."

You might think I've been somewhat sparse on the story, and you would be correct. That is because I aim to incorporate the backgrounds of every character into the story, should it be possible. Old demons may return to haunt your character, for example. I do, however, have an overarching story that will guide the roleplay throughout 'Outcasts', which I will detail now.

This roleplay will center around a small group of individuals on the run from the Galactic Empire, and the harshness of the galaxy they find themselves in. The inhabitants of the galaxy live in fear, and no doubt your characters do to, only they have more of a reason to be afraid than many. In order to survive, they will be forced to flee deep into the underbelly of the galaxy and work alongside the most villainous scum the galaxy can offer. From shady cantinas of Nar'Shadda, to the spice mines of Kessel, your characters will be constantly on the run from the Empire while also trying to 'make a living', or at least, enough to survive. Legitimate work, if it ever was an option for your character, is now out of the picture completely. The story of 'Outcasts' will focus on the groups dealings with the Hutt Cartels during the ongoing Spice War, and their attempts to evade the Galactic Empire that remains focused on finding the group after its encounter with the Jedi.
Will your characters be willing to risk starvation, or their own deaths at the hand of the Hutt Cartels for the morally right decision, or will they instead look out for themselves first and foremost? These are the choices that will define this roleplay and the adventures your characters find themselves in.

Please only post accepted characters in the characters tab.

Below is a template for the character sheet. I will only be accepting one force-sensitive user, who will have a unique role in the story. This character will not be trained in the ways of the force, and will more than likely be almost entirely unaware they are force sensitive. In addition, I will be writing for the Jedi and I shall have a character sheet for them posted soon. They will be used to initially drive the plot forward and will, eventually, die (spoilers, huh!) I will also be writing for the various antagonists that the group comes across in their adventures. More than anything, I want this roleplay to be focused on the group itself (excluding the Jedi) and their adventures/individual development.

Below is just a template, feel free to lay it out differently if you wish, but please ensure all the required information is included.

Thank you for the interest, and reading this far! Please feel free to ask any questions!
@Galactic HeroI know it's early to ask, but when do you predict you'll have it all in an OOC thread?

No problem! I expect I'll have a more in-depth OOC set up, at the latest, by tomorrow night. Still getting an idea of how many folks are interested at the moment.
I'll just sit my interest right here. You mind if I leave it here? C:

Not at all, not at all!

@Galactic HeroI'm up for something like this. Depending on the plot and stuff. Is there going to be any mix in with any of the original story-lines or is this all going to be original, event wise?

Well, I think this is going to be mainly original in terms of events, especially with the Rebel Alliance being essentially destroyed. I'm kind of wary to involve original characters, although not entirely against it (who knows, maybe Han is still alive, for example) and if they did appear, it'd likely only be for one episode, or even just a part of one episode. The Hutt Cartels will almost certainly feature. Darth Vader and Palpatine are still kicking, so they could fit in, but again, I'm wary to involve either of them (anytime soon, at least) because I think it makes things seem... too important? There is also the issue of introducing canon characters in the first place. Generally, it just doesn't work, so again, canon characters might be mentioned, but I doubt they'll appear in the actual roleplay.

Initially, this small group will have next-to-no impact on the galaxy. They'll just be trying to survive, and while things to them will obviously seem important, in the 'grand scheme' of things, they'll be nothing to the Galactic Empire. That will change over time, however, as the group finds itself involved in situations increasingly more dangerous. So, for example, while the group may at first freely wander around the cantinas and major spaceports, over time the situation they are in will change drastically, as their faces become plastered on 'WANTED' posters around the galaxy.

But I digress. To answer your question, this will be almost entirely original in terms of the plot.

Hi there!

So, I just recently (like, very recently!) joined the guild after roleplaying on a whole bunch of different sites over the years. A little about me, I've CO-GM'd some roleplays in the past (mainly nation roleplays) and this is my first go at anything like this, so please do bare with me. As you might have guessed, seeing the latest addition to the Star Wars trilogy has really triggered my love for Star Wars once again, and I've always wanted to either be a part of, or run, a roleplay like this, and so I've finally decided to just bite the bullet and go for it.

Anyway, onto the good stuff. If you looked at the lil' title thing I made (I couldn't resist) you might have a bit of an idea of what I'm going for. Essentially, I'm looking to create a roleplay about a group of ragtag, morally-ambiguous characters forced into companionship after evading capture by the Imperials on the planet of Tatooine (as is to be expected, however, their adventures will lead them to all corners of the galaxy). The members of this group will, consequentially, lose everything they had known and have to rely on one another for survival, while also (perhaps unwittingly) becoming figureheads for a new resistance movement across the galaxy.

The roleplay is going to be split into various 'episodes', with each episode covering one plot-arch (with a major plot-arch overhanging all of the episodes). Should the roleplay be successful, the next episode will begin after a short break, carrying over the same cast of characters and introducing some new ones!

For the time period, this is going to be set ten years after the Battle of Yavin, except instead of the Empire having lost the battle as we saw in the films, they will have been victorious. The traditional 'heroes' of the galaxy (Luke, Han, Leia, Chewbacca etc...) are missing, presumed to be dead. There are no known (keyword, known) other Jedi in the galaxy.

Your Characters

So, who will you play? Well, that's up to you entirely. I only have a few 'rules' about character creation in mind, and this post isn't for the creation of characters anyway, it's about getting interest for the roleplay itself. Anyway, the rules are pretty simple. No Jedi, and your character should have a 'questionable' background. After all, the Imperials wanted to arrest you!
I am also looking for one character, and only one, to be force sensitive. They would, ideally, be of a relatively young age (under 25ish), and they will (as you might have guessed) become the eventual 'Jedi' of the group as the plot unravels. There is going to be one other Jedi in the roleplay initially, played by myself and used as a device to move the plot forward (though, this character is going to die relatively quickly, spoiler-alert!) and, other than that, I will write for the main 'antagonists' of the plot. Don't expect Darth Vader anytime soon, though. Instead, it'll be various, original, Imperial Officers/Bounty Hunters.

Summing Up

I'm looking to create a roleplay with a level of depth that goes beyond killing Imperials and successfully escaping the clutches of the Empire. With a small group, there's great potential for character and relationship building, which is something I absolutely want to exploit. This will be a roleplay set in the Star Wars universe, but there will be no obvious 'heroes'. Instead, it will focus on a group of individuals simply trying to survive in the harsh universe they find themselves in, and while they will indeed have the name 'hero' thrust upon them by those who will come to see them as a representation of resisting the Empire, they may not deserve it, or even want it.

This roleplay will be of a casual-advanced level. The character development and relationship building I hope to achieve cannot be accomplished through lighter standards, so I am looking for around 3 paragraphs per post, with reasonable detail.

So, that's my idea. Please ask any questions you have, and let me know if you're interested!
