Shinichi Kyousuke – “Deep Thought”
Kumogakure rang once again with its busy street market and kids playing once more. This sight was the complete opposite of what the young adult, Shinichi remembered seeing roughly two years ago. When Shinichi and his small team came back from their small solo expedition away from the direct troubles back home they were all met with large piles of rubble and only a few buildings still standing. Shinichi refuses to admit it openly but he still felt great shame in the fact that he couldn’t do more in reclaiming Kumo back during that war. A part of him felt that what he was doing was right, trying to prevent the spread of Genkei’s rule and eventually meet up with some type of resistance group (which Shinichi and his team were unsuccessful of doing) but majority of him felt, and knew, that all he really did was run away like a coward and try to buy time before coming back when everything was safe. He never wanted it to look like a coward but due to his whole plan becoming unsuccessful he just made himself look more and more like a weakling who ran away.
”God damn it. I need to stop beating myself up about that shit” Shinichi audibly told himself, exiting his deep thought process. The ninja was just casually laying down on the roof of what was now his new home. His old one, like many of the other homes, had been brought to a giant heap of ash and debris. Luckily for him he was able to retrieve most of the documents he hid under his floorboards before escaping. What he couldn’t recover was already burnt which was at least better than having the info leaked.
His angled roof made laying back even more comfortable. It was honestly a great day to just sit back and reflect over the last few days, weeks, months…years. Shinichi entered another session of deep thought, thinking back to his past and how he and his team nearly met with a past that should just remain secret. There were times where Shinichi just wanted to be honest and tell his team everything, the things he did, the stuff he saw, the people that want him dead. It all continued eating away at him but he knew deep down that if that information ever got leaked the chances of him trying to rebuild a better life would crumble. Additionally he was starting to get attached to his team, kinda like a father – child relationship. He wasn’t sure if he could let them go just yet.
Speaking of letting his team go: Shinichi began thinking more about recent events. This included the fact that majority of his team had been disbanded, largely due to Kumo being destroyed and the young ninjas’ families leaving for what they felt were safer places. After the last genin left a few months ago it had just been him and NijI for awhile. When Niji was able to achieve the rank of Chunin by herself he was ecstatic. Although she has definitely grown up a good deal since the war against Genkei, she is still his student and he would still protect her and teach her till the day he died.
”That reminds me…we have a new arrival, Itenori I believe was his name” at this point Shinichi was just conversing with no one but himself. He wasn’t too sure how it would work having a chunin and a genin on the same team especially when Niji herself would be roughly six years older than the poor kid. In theory Niji would be on her way to learning how to be a leader of a squad but obviously her sight put her at a disadvantage so perhaps staying on team Shinichi would be better for her? ”Well that’s enough thought for one day, I guess I should probably go get Niji and we can go see who our new friend is.”
The day was relatively young, roughly noon if anyone had to make a wild guess which meant the sun was easily able to light up all of Kumo. A few minutes passed before Shinichi managed to find himself on top of Niji’s house. Of course the door was always an option but what fun could you possibly have knocking on the door and waiting for someone. Shinichi did what he always did and prepared himself for a stealth attack. You would think sneaking up behind a blind person would be easy but it actually seemed harder, their heightened hearing made Shinichi’s job much more difficult.
Silently he was able to grip onto the window’s trim and swing himself in. He tried to land as softly as he could where he would then proceed to look around for Niji. If she was in her room, then Shinichi was quickly successful in his attempt. In the off chance that Niji was nowhere to be found he would proceed with looking around silently until he found her.
Whenever (and if) he found Niji Shinichi would just simply approach her and speak. ”Guess who. We have someone new on our team and I thought you’d like to be there to go get him with me”
((Im going to let you decide Glitchy if Shinichi finds Niji. If not then just explain where she is or something or just have fun with it.))
((Also Zimmer don’t worry. I haven’t forgotten about posting for you. I suggest you have your genin go to Midori and Reyna’s base in Kumo. Apparently it’s a warehouse where genin and chunin just chill out and have fun. Seems like an easy spot to introduce your character in.))
