Google docs works in mostly the same way as microsoft excel, for the most part all you need do is fill in the fields that are already there in the template which is simple data entry, click the box and type it out type thing. its just cleaning it up and personalising it that starts getting tricky, at least in regards to the sheets themselves. The brain melting trait/economy system is another hurdle all together, still, as said earlier in the thread, don't be hesitant to ask questions.
Kuryi Gabriel Saros
The Art of Battle, Arami System

Kuryi stood on the bridge of his flagship and looked out the panoramic viewports at space.to his left was the debris field, Its outer mass being picked over by the alliance of salvagers he had struck a deal with a year ago, and on the edge of the field also sat the station he had had constructed to manage his own interests in the field. It really was quite a rich field of debris, so far of the inner section of the field which Kuryi and the salvagers had agreed would be his to pick over, a number of valuable finds had been made, dispite this he still had not ventured into the inner 40% of the field. His people had needed to fight off a few squadrons of left over vulture droids so far but nothing exceptionally problematic, just a few missing salvage shuttles attributed to those rogue droid fighters. As per his agreement the other Salvagers had first sale options and they had secured several new hulks from the deal, one of which, a republic pelta frigate, was undergoing a refit in Kuryi's shipyard, a second deal he had struck with the Salvagers after he had decided to construct the shipyard in the system allowed them use of one slipway to speed any restorations jobs they wished to undertake on finds in the field, for a discounted rental fee of course.

The shipyard itself had proven to be quite the asset, it had allowed Kuryi to expand his fleet of two vessel to fourteen, six of which were stationed at the debris field for defense most of the time. The other six of the new vessels built had been assigned to Te-ru as a troubleshooting task force, going where he needed them and had been instrumental in the other major acquisition of his in the past year. A shadowport in the Annamar system, run by the Syndicate, Kuryi rendered some valuable assistance to the former administrator who in turn was promoted inside the vast criminal empire. He appointed Kuryi to be his replacement, making Kuryi an underboss within the Syndicate as well. The salvagers at the feild had been somewhat apprehensive at first when they heard this thinking that Kuryi would now extort a percentage of their profits from the field as they had feared other members of the syndicate showing up and doing, but Kuryi stuck to the original deal and after a while the status-quo returned to the debris field.

His fleet had not been the only thing to grow over the past year. using the mountain base he had inherited he had began training his own security forces and in a surprise development the Force user had shown a remarkable talent with the beasts he had picked up, including the Nexu that Andrea had transferred to him, supposedly she found something better to keep her interest. Miria had taken to training a small elite unit of comandos to work with the beasts as well providing Kuryi with a small force of unorthodox if highly dangerous troops.

The holocomm unit in the floor behind him beeped and one of the crew spoke up. "Communication coming in from Five Points." Kuryi turned away from the viewport and faced the holocomm unit and nodded to the crewman. An image of Iella flickered into view and Kuryi regarded his Echani underling with a raised eyebrow. "Something is amiss?" he asked calmly.
Iella bowed her head slightly in respect before speaking. "There's something of a situation here, a bunch of weequay have barricaded themselves in the primary power plant for the settlement and claim they have a proton bomb rigged to blow. Apparently they got screwed out of a deal recently and are looking to make up for their losses, at your expense."
Kuryi sighed and thought for a moment. "Cazador is still there yes?" After Iella nodded he continued. "Then send him in with the comandos in the garrison, between them they can defuse the situation." Kuryi said resolutely, Cazadors demolitions experience should be able to disarm the bomb even if the Crimson Comandos couldn't. Iella nodded again and was about to end the transmission when Kuryi spoke again. "Oh and Iella, It appears the security on our facilities there were lax, assuming the weequay left any of them alive be sure to discipline them accordingly. Then run a full evaluation on our security deployment on Annamar and report back, we are going to make sure little things like this do not happen in the future." She was in the process of answering when Kuryi signaled the crewman at the comms station to cut the transmission.

It was going to be one of those days it seemed.
Well, might as well put my previous characters sheets up so new players have something to go off as as example. Also each of we GM's have made a sheet using the 'new player' rules, Kadaeux a Jedi, Sarzum a Forceless and myself a Sith, though he's unfinished atm, should be done in the next day or so at most.

Also be aware my sheets differ somewhat from the default template, personal preferences and such but all the same into is there.

Without further ado, my Jedi sheet, Cyphor Fey'lar, Bothan Jedi, expert pilot and frequent smartass.

My Forceless underworld boss, Kuryi Gabriel Saros.Sometime Smuggler, Echani arts expert and member of the Syndicate.

And Narthais, Sith, geiser and assassin.

As Kad already said; Feel free to ask questions, the rules set is not exactly the most simple one around as its been developed and refined over the past year, once you get your head around the basics though it all starts falling into place.
First question about the 'fixed bio'; What empire? there was no empire until Palpatine reformed the republic into it at the end of the clone wars at this stage in star wars history.
Second; as has been mentioned before, jedi pupils are usually trained from birth and no later than age 5 I believe by the order at this point in history. learning mapping and pranks on soldiers at that stage in life seems rather far fetched.

This is of course just my opinion on the matter, sep and caboose are the definitive judges.

On another note I should be posting again in the next day or so, work has been killing me the last month but its started to slow down again so I have more time to relax and focus on rp's.

Good luck, Advanced has been the target of ugly propaganda for years. I think a couple prominent players got kicked out of a roleplay in there once, and a few users were arrogant about it back in the day (like before a lot of users that perpetuate the myth ever logged on.) That's all it took to get the myth going. I can't recall ever personally meeting the stereotypical user that is rumored to lurk in Advanced.

Such a situation did happen way back in the guilds history, first or second year. advanced was more or less controlled by a handful of elitists who felt the need to tell anyone that couldn't make 6 paragraph posts every other day to bugger off.so many of us that disagreed with that approach fled to casual and coined the high-casual term. Eventually, after only a few months those elitists decided the guild simply wasn't good enough for them and moved on, made their own site I believe which promptly went through a number of problems before shutting down itself.

In short the High-casual term lingered, the original reasons for it didn't, though the event was enough to spawn the myth of advanced being this nigh unobtainable place for monolithic writers only. I frequently tried to encourage users of the high casual term to simply come on over to advanced, the high casual term is like a safety blanket these days and its really not needed in the vast majority of cases, people just need to take a step of faith outside their comfort zones.
Maher Adonai - First Blow

Maher smiled slightly as the fog parted before him, whatever had caused the heavy fog didn't seem to be controlling it and causing it to remain in lieu of direct action. Of course the shambling undead that the parting fog revealed wasn't particularly helpful He stamped his foot on the ground for a moment and tested the surface for how dry it was. he discovered he could basically break off flakes of hard packed and very dry dirt just by applying a little bit of weight, trying to trap the creatures in a sinkhole wasn't going to work, there simply wasn't enough water around to soak the ground to such a point and it would take much of his strength to create such an amount of water himself. He briefly considered conjuring some water and freezing it around the creatures feet, but the ice would have nothing to make a firm purchase on with the ground as brittle as it was. Checking things off in his mind he ran though several other options. Mirrored water would be unlikely to hide them from the undead, holding a sphere of water around their heads wouldn't drown them... several more options were discarded just as quickly. His water was unlikely to assist them in getting past the undead without engaging them, though he did consider a burst of water at each one to attempt to knock them off their feet and allow the others an easier time in dispatching them.

<Well I hope you're having fun, I'm about to have a water fight with some undead in a desert.> He said to his sister as he started gathering his magical energies again. He then called back over his shoulder at his comrades, "I'm going to try and knock a few of them down so we can dispatch and get past them faster, after that I suggest we make for Ms Vesper with haste, I cant imagine that second flare is a good sign." He said before lashing out with three concentrated bursts of water, it might leave two of them on their feet still but he didn't have the time or energy to waste in preparing a stronger attack and assuring it hit all five as it was he felt he was stretching it a little with three.

[Result provided by Brovo over steam in order for other mission members to react accordingly.]
Two high powered blasts of water shoot forth from Mahers hands taking two of the undead squarly in their chests and toppling them a third followed soon after though Maher felt unconsiously that he had nearly fumbled the third blast. It to however hit its mark and knocked a third undead off its feet. His magical efforts done he drew his sword and started moving towards the group of undead though he expected the others would reach them first.
Sounds quite complex
Brovo said How are your posts coming along?

First blow group is discussing things and you should see post from us soonish.
What about Syl's character?
Brovo said That is the assumption one could derive yes. Could of course mean something else entirely. She might be asking you to bring some cake and tea.

I knew I forgot to pack something!
