Deja and Unknown are approved and ready to go! I think it fair to give Kingdom another day. If he doesn't post a CS by then, then I shall toss up the first IC post!

Always been a big fan of Godzilla, so I'm more than interested in joining this. Just need to think of a character for this.

Sounds good! I'd like to wait for you and Unknown to make your character sheets and then I think we'll be set for starting. We can fit in any other interested players whenever they show up.

I thought my character might be NAVY intelligence caught in it all. I have no intentions to make him any less vulnerable than any ordinary man, but him being military raises some opportunities. My character might be caught in it all, and caught by complete surprise. But the fact that he is military means, he feels a commitment to bringing back information. So he is caught between:1. Trying to bring back the information he gathers.2. Trying to help his fellow man.He understand that he can't save everybody, and sometimes have to leave some people behind.Maybe he comes across your character and realizes that, your character might have the only images of what caused the incidence. They make a trade: The photos for my character's help. And then begins a journey.

That could work. I thought of having one military type character in the group, even playing another character myself if no one suggested one. Go ahead and create a character sheet!
Name: Bryan Matthews

Appearance:

Brief Description:
Bryan is new to the news world. An amateur in the eyes of his company, Bryan has asked to be given one major report to prove he is of the right material, and what better a subject to report than potential disaster? However, Bryan is not one to take advantage of others. A generous man, Bryan tends to stay selfless in most social situations, a trait that had earned him a girlfriend, Lily, back in New York. Bryan's always been a bit of a risk taker, not afraid to go into the possible hell this storm could bring, should the coastal walls fail. Bryan has never truly known fear, never stared death in the face and will be ill-prepare for the nightmare about to unfold. He currently resides in the InterContinental Hotels near Tokyo Bay, waiting out the coming storm and reporting on the final stages of the walls' erection.
Noted and updated with a character sheet.
OOC

Here is the OOC!
2020

Growing demands for food and clean water have pushed man to develop an increasingly artificial "natural" world. Food and water rations are being laid upon the population by the United Nations. Improved growth hormones are being distributed to massive farms across the world. Many new hormones have been developed for trees to meet the growing demand for wooden shelters in FEMA sponsored camps, while the leaders of the world attempt to handle overpopulation. Humanity's control of this artificial nature, bent to the survival needs of man, has caused mass shifts in climate. Storms increase in intensity with each passing year and natural disasters become more frequent as nature attempts to balance the overflow of mankind. Still, Humanity's persistence to survive continues to trump natures attempt at balance and many humans believe their world may be drying up.

However, recent storms have begun to swell in the Pacific Ocean. A large typhoon, not unlike Typhoon Tip of 1979, has formed fifty miles from the coast of Japan. Many ships in the area have been lost to sea without a trace, unable to be located by NOAA's weather reconnaissance aircraft. Search and rescue teams have been unable to traverse the violent waves and many fear the typhoon will make landfall soon. Humanity does not know the beast they have awoken, for in that storm lurks nature's last resort. A creature of immense power and scale, lost in slumber for millennia, has been stirred by the major shifts in climate. Its eyes are curiously set on the nearest human civilization, seeking the source of the ships in its territory. Mankind's fear of the unknown and his ignorance of his actions shall lead him to the balance nature thirsts for.

This is where our story will take off. Japan stands in the path of a curious, soon-to-be enraged radioactive nightmare. This is where I need some input from you guys. Where do you suppose our characters should begin and what role shall they play? My character, so far, is planned to be a rookie reporter from New York getting his first major story in Tokyo as a coastal wall is being erected around Tokyo Bay. Obviously, he will be caught in the hell as it begins and will fight to survive in an apocalyptic warzone. Your characters could be family or friends attempting to keep contact with him as this unfolds and as he, following the initial attack, returns home? Or, if we go the friends route, your characters could have come along with my character as a surprise, also being caught in the initial conflict?

Curious.

What questions might you have? Or would you like to wait for an OOC for more detailed information? (Currently working on nailing out the details).
I will add you to the list! I'm hoping to get two more interested, but if we stall on just one more, then I will throw up an OOC!
