Name: Aleph de Tauxignano
Age: 20
Appearance:
Species: Advanced Golem
An advanced golem is a catchall term for beings whose every process is explicitely constructed from the ground up. In Aleph's case, he is the result of 8 centuries of refinement on a form, and his creator is very good at it. Created to last for at least a thousand years of harsh wear, squirreled away in his form and psyche are methods and structures of unknown purpose.
Weapons: Aleph was trained to use a gun by a friend of his creator who lived in their town, because in this day and age there is no excuse to not at least be familiar with the most devastating light weapon that has ever been created. His only concession to the presence of magic is special bullets that are able to hurt most creatures that he could come into contact with.
Additionally, he has novice experience with the use of a bo staff, mostly for the usefulnes of a magic staff during rituals than combat, as well as novice experience with various European martial arts.
Abilities:
Does not need to sleep.
Self healing, and by extension, the ability to construct magical artifacts.
Mostly unable to do magic, unless he was designed to do it. Generally speaking, if he can't do just by existing, he probably can't do it.
Highly tuned to magical energy.
Nigh eidetic memory.
More durable and stronger than any human being.
Relationship Status: Will be looking.
Background: Aleph is the final creation of an ancient wizard whose singular goal was to create immortality. His creator, Jacobellus de Tauxignano, was born in the high Middle Ages, in Italy, around the year 1182. Aleph's first several years were spent in an underground compound, where he was closely monitored and educated, to the extent that someone that young can be educated. When he was five, he was moved into a normal looking house in a normal looking neighborhood in Britain. He was socialised with kids his age, and for most of his childhood was pretty happy.
However, to say that their relationship was rocky is an understatement. Jacob was past 800 years old, and had experienced a good portion of human history, rubbing shoulders with histories greats. He had lived lived through all of the great changes that humanity had brought about. He was starting to slide. Aleph was his last mark.
From Aleph's perspective, he lived with a distant father who expected perfection from him, and led by example. Time was doled out in exact increments, each one calculated to deliver or reinforce a lesson to within nine nines of accuracy. Designed without, in Jacobs words, "The racial debuff of a third of ones time required to be spent paralized and vividly hallucinating," time flowed in a continuous curve of downtime, lessons, excercise, and socialization. Half of the time his father was nowhere to be found.
Outside life was not easy. Sheltered in a home with a controlling father, his only contact with the outside world was through a group of six friends and anything he could find on the internet. Socialization did not come easy, and he was always considered kind of weird. His coaching about the actual ways of the world, and his aprenticeship under his creator, did not help things. He always stood off to the side of any bigger social activity.
This continued until Aleph was 16 years old. He had slowly started to realise things were wrong as time wore on. He had started sneaking out of the house, catching up with his friends, and his studies had reached a fever pitch. Jacob was more distant than ever. Everything was building up to something.
On December 21, 12:42:32.01, Aleph knew that his father was dead. In the basement, the hidden second floor one, where all of Aleph's magical lessons were taught, not the commonplace first one, hidden in the floor, was a virtually undetectable and impossible to open trapped door that Aleph had never been allowed to go through. With his father dead, he knew that there were now no restrictions on that door, and he went through it to enter the compound that he was dimly aware of trom his childhood. He went to his room, layed down, and was paralysed and hallucinated for three days. He woke up to do his business, and then lay back down for three days. After two weeks of this, he felt not devastated enough to look at what was in the compound.
There were several videos for his benefit, outlining the next three months of his life. He was to finish his studies, stay hidden, and move to the academy. As a final gift to him, he was given several gigantic books representing his user manual. Everything after the first volume was encrypted, and they, along with several gigabytes of digital information, would require his linking with a master to decypher. He spent the alloted two months alone, and then took a plane to the academy.
Other: This is Halloween.
He was constructed to be under the guidance of someone else, and will be looking for someone who can take the role of a master.
He is also highly sensitve to magic, since too much can just overwhelm him. He can go unconscious, and enter a sleep like state like a cross between meditation, and this will probalby be invoked. He has enough shielding to not get bothered just standing around people, but he wouldn't be able to step into a hundred kilo-thaum Dehlavi lightning machine without falling into Tanako's world. This would probably also apply to any direct magic that would be used against him.
