Understandable. I also had an idea for a race of reptilian people. Sort of similar to the lizardmen of Warhammer Fantasy.

You are gonna hate me...

Yeah the lizard man thing is sorta already taken by the Celdrin Union....Yeah hold on im banging out the info on the Union atm so anything thats not taken by them could be native to Alderia

:| Sorry
I was thinking along the lines of a shapeshifter race.

Not too sure about that..Because you are apart of a Royal house of your race's civilization and your Entire race are shapeshifters? Farmers? Soldiers? Doctors? The main reason i would sorta be against that power is that its sorta makes it "easy" to lay low when the shit hits the fan

Simply change who you look like and nobody would tell you were a member of the royal family. Just seems a bit OP of a race...
I'm interested in this. Are there any other races besides humans?

Totally, got the basic elves, dwarves and so on

But if you got a idea of something more exotic im open to the idea

I meant to soldiers in the Union of Celdrin.

I'm sorry i don't exactly understand the question, are you asking if the Union utilizes Magic and enchanted equipment to gain their advantage over EVERYONE? If thats the question then not really what i was aiming for because really what does lead to the demise of Alderia is that they tossed so many resources fighting each other with little gain from it, now with everyone at critical status they are like "Maybe we should just stop.." so they can stop themselves and rebuild. But the Union takes advantage of the wobbly structure.

Plus No royal troops have fought Union forces. The Union came to Alderia during the war of fortune where everyone was utilizing the various mercenary groups to fight their battles while they kept their actual units defending their property. So they have no idea how to fight this enemy or how to counter their strategy because they never personally dealt with them.

But again im confused on what the question is

What about adding the dynamic of magic, and possibly enchantments to the armor of individual soldiers?

Magic does exist in this world, forgot to clarify that but while magic exists there will be nobody that starts with crazy ass abilities just because their race is fluent in magic capable of wiping out entire battalions..

Thats to say they can't have the potential to become that powerful...You can start the Rp with some knowledge in basic spells but i won't let anyone take part int his Rp with a character that "Has been trained in magic all his life and is a wizard that has a large book of spells" No..You can say you are a student currently in a school being taught this incredibly difficult task of harassing this energy

But i won't let anyone say they are a master in anything, even if they grew up learning to use a sword..sure you can have some skills with the blade but you won't be on par with Celdrin union troops, yet.

Im doing that because i don't want anyone playing hero and slaying like 10 troops single handedly. im making them weak at the start so theres a fear of death but everyone does have the potential to become stronger and more capable

Actually I was thinking of vampires as batwinged humans that feed on blood, are allergic to sunlight, and have really long natural lifespans. I didn't think of them as infecting anyone they bite, anyway. And with where you are going, I am thinking that they should reproduce sexually, just as with any other race. I was thinking of turning most of the traditional vampire mechanics into religious/folklore beliefs of the Vampiric Kingdom. So for example, they don't like garlic or medicines made with garlic because they believe that it was made by the enemies of their gods to lure them away from their true nature (or something like that).

Well yeah i could settle with that...Seems plausible.

As long as the race in question does not really have a edge over the Celdrin Union im pretty sure il be ok with it...I know that im trying a bit too hard to make everyone weak but thats sorta the idea im trying to get, to make the players feel hopeless and that they can't harm this giant that is tearing their world apart,
@Miakardia Thank you for being interested mate :D
Sounds like there are multiple races in play here. Would you have any objections to one of the PCs being of a traditionally monstrous race like vampires, dark elves, or orcs?

I sorta want to keep Orcs exclusive because one of the Celdrin factions is orcish.

As for dark elves i see nothing wrong with them but Vampies? AS a playable race I'm actually not sure because i feel like that would be sorta Op as traditional vampires are required to be attacked in a certain way to kill them, and can infect others with their curse and sorta expand their army that way

My main issue is that tradition vampires would actually give the Celdren a hard time with their very specific conditions to die and that their main weapon would be to infect their foes and have them join their side maybe as a slave.I want the Celdren union to DOMINATE the battlefield so we can put the PCs in this fucked up situation

I COULD just change the vampire idea around bit..But after i get done with it its prolly just gonna be a basic human that has some addition for blood and is allergic to sunlight

If you look into the lore, it's actually quite similar. PC's here are the Inner Sphere in the Great Houses and the Celdrin are the clans who are a bit miffed at how the IS fights and has a quest to take them down with their elite wariors and superiority.

That parallel was probably what drew me in the first place :P

Dman :/ was sorta hoping i had something original..however im still interested in my little idea even though its not as original as i thought :x

Also for anyone willing to help me out... the only problem i encountered with this idea is that i want the PCs to stick as a group and try to assist each other in surviving this manhunt but i would think realistically the group would split up to go to their respective nations and alert their homes before the Union wipes them out

The main thing im aiming for is having the characters be taken out of their pampered life where they were raised in comfort and shoved in a life where they lose all that comfort and are having to dig thought he dirt to survive, hiding from the Union who will even go as far as to put bounties on anyone who is apart of a royal bloodline (Most common why to find out is to ask local villagers if they seen their Lord, Price, Princess, etc in the area) looking to snuff them out of existence and because of that theses people who just signed a peace treaty will have to depend on each other to survive because they are all marked for death.

But how can i make that happen without the first option be "Hurry back home while they tear apart the citadel" Because theses characters will all come from different parts of Alderia..The only possibility i could come up with is that launched attacks on multiple fronts with heir massive forces along with their main attack force being in the middle to take the citadel
Never really looked at the mechwarrior lore, i am a bit interested in reading on it tho

And thank you for being slightly interested :D was thinking nobody would :c
