He took her hands and tried to offer a smile to reassure her, though given the circumstances, he doubted it would do much. Instead, he paid attention to her questions, raising an eyebrow at the mention of torture. "Ella, you're not some murderer who won't be given any chance to defend herself. Remember who you're getting married to. You think I would allow them to touch you?"

Her shook his head in disbelief at her worries, releasing her hand and retrieving a wooden stool to sit down on. "I can't promise that you won't be asked any questions, but you'll certainly be free from any pain. I can guarantee you that much." He took her hands again, rubbing his thumb over the back of one of hers. "I really am sorry for what my father did. I can't exactly argue with his authority, however much I want to."

Marken frowned and pushed his forehead against one of the bars. "Still, this is better than the alternative, hmm? You'll be out in a couple of days, and my mothers would be assassin will soon be caught. It'll all be over soon." He gave her another smile, waiting for a response. Even if they were separated by bars, Marken wouldn't let that come between their relationship. (No matter how cheesy that sounds.)
Post it enough times? :p
Um... Post enough times there?
Marken looked at his father incredulously. "You can't honestly be serious father." He couldn't help Ella as she was taken away to the dungeons, though he would fight tooth and nail to get her out of them. Atleast she wouldn't be treated like common criminal trash, no Marken wouldn't stand for that at all. He had enough authority to make sure her stay in the prisons wouldn't be filled with misery, atleast. "She's done nothing wrong, and you send her to a dungeon? What possible reason could you have for sending our ONLY witness to the dungeons, much less my betrothed?"

He let out a sigh, crossing his arms as Glenn narrowed his eyes. With no one else in the room, his facade died down considerably, what little was left of it anyway. "Are you questioning my authority boy? Last I checked, I WAS KING HERE, NOT YOU. Now, you'll deal with my decision, or I can always have you locked in your room for the duration of her imprisonment. Do I make myself clear?" Marken clenched his teeth, and nodded slowly. He couldn't bring himself to words in his anger against Glenn, and it would only hurt his case in the end.

Instead, once his father had left with a huff, Marken sighed and began to walk to the dungeons himself. He wasn't told when he could visit, and he knew that no one would stop him. Who would try? It wasn't as if the guards had been given explicit orders by his father not to let him visit Ella. He reached them quickly, two guards opening a large steel door at his command to allow him inside. Immediately, he noticed Ella in one of the cleaner cells. He walked up to the bars and tapped them to grab her attention while she read. "Hey Ella." He leaned against them, unable to go any further. Even with his authority, he wasn't allowed into the cell. "You alright?"
Glenn seemed to have no reaction for a long moment, though if someone paid attention to his jaw, they'd see it clench tightly. He closed his eyes for a moment, before opening them, to glare at Ella, balefully. It was very clear that he had anger directed at the girl, and given the circumstances, could he honestly be blamed? "Who might this be, and how, then, do you know this information Marken? I assume Ella told you?" His voice grated out through his teeth, and it was obvious he was have a hard time being civil with Ella.

He sighed and looked to his father, nodding. "There is a maid who was working as an assassin, who tried to poison my mother. She gave Ella the same poison to use against me, threatening to reveal rather... Unsavory things about her background that we'd prefer stayed between us. Ella was loyal to me, and gave me the poison and told me about the entire incident." Marken would reach into his pocket and place the vial onto the table, right before his father. "With the description Ella gave me, I think I could easily identify her, or Ella could as well." Of course, he could identify her due to having actually seen the woman, he wouldn't tell his father that.

Glenn thought for a long moment, letting out a long sigh. Before snapping his eyes straight to Ella. "Guards!" He shouted suddenly, and two men who had been posted outside the room after Glenn had entered burst in, hands resting on the hilts of their blades. "Take Ella here to the dungeons." Markens face paled, and he glanced between Ella and his father, as the two men moved forward to grab her shoulders.

"Come with us miss." One of them spoke in a gruff voice, looking straight down at her.

"Surely this is an overreaction father? Why are we throwing her in prison for revealing the identity of her killer?" Glenn sighed yet again and shook his head, standing up from his seat.

"Security issues Marken. You wouldn't understand. You can visit her freely, and if things turn out, we'll release her in a couple of days." He looked to the guards and waved his hands. "Be sure not to be too rough with her, she's not some petty criminal." With that, the guards would begin to escort Ella out of the room to the dungeon.
The meeting had been quick and efficient, just the way Venom preferred to do things in the field. Things went by fast, and the next thing Venom knew, it was nearing the time for his mission. Dimitri had come through, his armors systems working perfectly now, delivering the exact amount needed for his already impressive abilities to become magnified. His other project, though, didn't need any help from Dimitri. This one was accomplished easily enough. He'd experimented with ammunition, and finally developed a round to deliver the very chemicals that gave him his namesake.

The bullets were designed to impact, and deliver a lethal cocktail of poisons into his foes veins. In a minute, they'd enter organ shutdown. Within five, they'd be dead, unless one was able to counteract the poisons on the very battlefield. Not that he thought that would be possible, of course, though there was a reason the double tap rule existed... One round was enough to down any normal human foe. Two? That would ensure a quick, death, though he couldn't guarantee it would be painless. These were called venom clips, and all of his ammunition was converted to it. Venom had nothing better to do with his time, when he wasn't training that was.

Now, rain slid off his full combat armor, his helmet lit up just slightly from underneath the rain. The night vision built into his advanced helmet was active, allowing him to survey the area around him without making a sound. He was waiting for the order to engage, the order to destroy the NCR forces stationed here. When he thought about it, he contemplated why he was so... Neutral, about killing these men who had only joined up in the military for one reason or another. He hadn't exactly joined the Enclave just to assault them, he had joined out of interest for what it possessed. Who was to say these men were any different? Of course, in the end, Venom would follow orders. Anything more than that would result in reactions that he would prefer not to deal with. Things he'd rather not have backlash against him.

He made no side chatter, made no noises aside from his anxious shuffling. Was he anxious about the upcoming combat? No, any such fear was obliterated in his grueling training. This was simply the anxiousness of possible death. He may get shot in the head by a sniper, a grenade may land too close to his position, killing him in the resulting explosion. Such thoughts weren't the best to keep his mind company... But they kept his mind occupied from what would almost certainly be boredom instead.
So... Where to start... I've finally accepted something that has started to fuck with my mind on a grand scale, I'll be moving this summer, and when I finally accept it, I don't exactly enjoy what it means. I'll be in the Cafeteria if anyone wants to talk.
By god I'll post tonight.
He sighed and took her hand again. "I know you didn't Ella, which is why I'm so comfortable with it now. If I truly thought that you had ill intent for me, then I wouldn't be trusting you this much already." He gave what he thought was a reassuring smile, even as he heard his father coming down the hall. Looking over, he noticed his mother missing from breakfast, but didn't think much of it. He'd already seen her well, or resting to the point of recovery, the day before, so he doubted anything bad had happened over the course of the night. Especially given his fathers rather neutral look, and the lack of guards with him. Though the palace security had been increased, so that even the dining hall had the occasional guard roaming, Glenn had clearly decided that wandering with a paladin at all times was a bit dramatic.

Deciding to wait until Glenn had finished his own breakfast, he instead made smalltalk with the man as he consumed the last of his omelette, waiting for his wife to do the same. It wasn't right to discuss such a personal matter in the dining hall, they had many private room where such matters could be talked about. Soon enough, he finished his own food with the occasional sentence coming from his mouth. "Father, I have something to talk to you about. It concerns both Ella and Mother. I'd like to talk about it in private..."

The man seemed confused for a moment, then let out a sigh. "Very well, we can talk in your sitting room. I'm sure it can hold the two of us comfortably..." Marken shook his head.

"Three, Ella will be joining us, it involves her directly." Another sigh, and then a nod.

"Very well, lead on." He sounded much less enthusiastic than the first time Ella had met the man, starting to reveal his true colors now. Regardless, Marken led them both to his sitting room, sitting down, deciding to refrain from pouring a glass of wine. Outside the room, a guard had been posted as well, very recently infact. He found that a tad strange, but took no mind of it, given the recent past. Instead, he thought of where to begin.

"This will be hard to explain but..." He decided to omit the fact that Ella had considered killing him at all. From what he knew of his father, he'd call the guard from outside in to kill his fiance before his eyes. He would decide to say that she was blackmailed by the maid, for having lived in the country for more than educational purposes, and had given her the poison to kill him, but had instead turned to him with it immediately. It made her look much better in the end. "I know who's behind my mothers poisoning. She tried to blackmail Ella into killing me." He let the information sink in, waiting for a reaction before continuing.
I feel like your reaction is similar to the clone in your signature. Hope you feel better, I'll be posting soon... Ish...
