Name: Blake Reyes

Gender: Male

Age: 15

Appearance: Blake sits at an ordinary 5'7''. He's in pretty good shape considering he's a rather active person, but he doesn't really have much of a fashion sense. He's never without jeans, sneakers, and some sort of white or yellow shirt combination.

Personality: Blake’s a kind person at heart. He doesn’t normally mean anyone any harm and usually tries to be as considerate and accepting of others as much as possible. Everyone has their slip ups, though, so Blake’s not immune to the occasional foot in mouth. This kindness stems from his desire to live up to the ideals of a superhero. Kind, caring, and always willing to stick up for those in need. In that last regard, he’s a bit reckless, but he honestly just can’t abide by someone getting picked on or worse. He considers anyone who can jive with that sort of attitude a friend.

Beyond all his kindness, he has an adventurous and curious side to him. He’s always loved trying new things, investigating something he doesn’t know about, or just plain getting out and seeing what lies beyond his home. With those tendencies in mind, Blake’s attention to wander away when he’s cooped up inside and forced to do things irrelevant to his interests. As you might guess, this reflects rather poor on his grades. Not that he minds too much… At the moment.

Background: Fifteen years ago, a pair of twins were born to a loving Filipino couple. Blake is the eldest twin and can be described as the energetic to his brother’s chill. The adventurous to his brother’s stay-at-home. The less-studious to his brother's more-studious. The “more likely to jump into danger and call it ‘being a hero’” to his brother’s “I enjoy living and would rather stay right here.” From a young age, Blake’s always been greatly interested in exploring the world beyond his own home, and that feeling was only exacerbated when he started getting into superhero shows and comics. He dreamed of being a superhero when he was a kid, but as reality set in he ultimately just decided to follow the ideals set by them. That is, being as kind and caring as possible, helping the innocent or struggling, etc. etc.

Relations: Blake considers anyone that gets along with him his friend! (Undecided)

Power:

Hup! I'm leaving Relations blank for so it can be up for discussion. Anyone who thinks they can get along with Blake is free to be his friend, though.

I'm same with Pacific Standard, by the way.
I take it appearance isn't super important to know?

...Gah, I still don't like using emoticons.

Character-wise I'm probably just gonna tweak an old one I've had sitting around to fit the setting. He's already a superhero geek, so he'd be a perfect fit for this!
You’re Not The Liar Dopant - Shotaro

You could just see the look of crushing disappointment sink into Shotaro’s face as the suit exposed his lie for what it was. A large frown gradually creased across his face and he folded up the newspaper, resting the hand holding it on his hip with the other going up to hold his hat. His expression briefly changed to wide-eyed surprise when the suited lady came in and out… and in again. It was quick resume its wide frown once their thin lie was thoroughly stamped to pieces into the ground, and Shotaro tilted his head down a little, pressing his hat down over his eyes. ”Ahhhhhh- fine! he groaned irritatedly, ”I’m a detective in the first place, lying on the spot isn’t my forte."

He shifted his weight onto one foot and let his hand fall back from his hat, looking at the two straight on. ”I tried to avoid explaining ourselves since it sounded so ridiculous, but if you’ve got a bunch of… other things rolling around here and people popping out of thin air, you’ll probably buy it.” He raised his free hand back up and gestured at himself and Saber, ”Me, her, and a few others back over that way,” he gestured back at Philip and the others, ”We’re from a bunch of different worlds. Only it’s all coming down, apparently, and some lady wants us to fix it. There’s something going on in this world, we don’t know what, and we’re supposed to handle it before it gets worse. That ring any bells to the problems you guys are having?”

If You Just Focus On The Girly Parts, You Might Forget He’s A Man! - Philip

”Then consider how you would feel if your mother was killed. Especially over something as trivial as a newspaper.” Philip bluntly put it. ”The logical response to that might be sadness or anger, but it’s nothing you would want to inflict on just random people, would it?” he asked “Jack.” If her mother was seriously just that important to her, Philip hoped it would trigger some sense of empathy in the girl.
Interested!
I'll admit.

Once you pick apart all the inconsistencies, the fact that I (and Shotaro as a result) didn't think that lie through very well shows a lot.

Not that I don't think them getting busted was fun to see anyway.
The City That Never Sleeps - Philip and Shotaro

”Thanks. Shotaro took the newspaper and gave the front page a glance over, looking for any sort of alarming headlines that might clue them in. And then the guy spoke up again, commenting on their obviously out of place looks. ”Huh? Oh- Uh- Right we’re… we’re tourists!” Shotaro nodded affirmatively and gave Saber a quick look to make sure she’d roll with. Lying about their situation was a lot easier, and more believable, than explaining their unbelievable predicament. ”Me and my friends we’re- we’re here for some cosplay show.”

He looked back down to scan the paper and continued, ”Most of our stuff got jacked when we got here though, including our money and phones. We got a guy waiting at the police station to file a report, but we still gotta scrape together some cash for a ride back.” There. That sounded believable, right?

Back with “Jack,” Philip looked down at the girl with a quirked eyebrow. ”What is there not to understand?” he asked her, ”Killing’s just wrong. Especially over something as trivial as a newspaper. He tapped his chin in thought, thinking up another question in case the idea of it still didn’t get through to her. “Do you have anyone important to you? Like your parents or any friends?”
Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah

Sorry, hate to cut and run before it actually got going, but... I just kinda ran out of steam for this RP, so I'll be dropping. Sorry.
The City That Never Sleeps - Philip and Shotaro

“Newspaper, newspaper… Eh?” Shotaro’s sharp focus was snapped the moment he heard the cloaked kid suggest murder to them. Philip’s attention just as worriedly honed in on the girl, leading him to wonder what in the world could have led her to that conclusion. ”Wh- Murder?! Hey, hey, hey now, girl!” Shotaro reprimanded “Jack” as he kneeled down to her level. “Do you hear what you’re saying? I’m with everyone else, it’s definitely not alright to just go and kill an innocent person. No matter what.”

Just as Shotaro was about to cut in to a longer, more winded speech about the value of life and all, Philip nudged him and pointed towards the tall man on the phone. ”Shotaro, morals later. Look there.”

”Hah?” He looked up at Philip with a confused look on his face, only to be met with Philip pointing at the man again. “…Ah! Right! Talk later,” he rose up to his feet and adjusted his tie, ”Newspaper now.” He marched on over to the tall man and put on the most professional face he had, appearing stern and serious. ”Pardon me,” he asked, ”Mind if I take a look at that paper there?” It was… probably really rude to interrupt his phone call like this, but his manners were a lot easier to throw away than his morals.

Back with Philip, he just gathered his thoughts on his scene. ”That man is carrying a cell phone, yet he brought a newspaper with him,” he thought out loud, ”Either he’s one of the rare Americans not carrying a smart phone these days, or we’re very early into the 21st century.” Philip wasn’t sure if his deduction was really correct, but at a first look around the area he didn’t see anything that could particularly give it away. He took another look around anyway for any year establishing landmarks, filing “Jack’s” strange train of thought away to think about later.
I should be able to get a post up... hoooooopefully in a few hours.

I've been a little too busy with money and trying to open art commissions to write one up.
