The Stage

Once you lived in your own world. Whatever your status, hero or villain, you played your role to the story of your land. That all changed one day when a frosty fog descended from the skies and swept you away. Only in the blink of an eye you awoke among others also stolen from their homes, standing in a foggy old village. It was empty, but lanterns hummed freshly in the windowsills. Some of you tried to venture into the dark forests surrounding the town, only to find it endless. Above the trees stands unreachable mountains, and on them rests the shadow of a tower that propels itself into the night sky. At the top window there is a light which ceases to stop flickering.

Months pass. A year actually. With seemingly no way of getting home, you and your newfound friends have taken the village for yourselves. The year has not been without perils however, as about every few weeks something spawns from the direction of the tower. Sometimes a beast, sometimes a man, but what you have all come to the conclusion of is this:

You are nothing but a performance to the light in the tower.

General Rules

• Users who have posted in the Interest Thread before this thread's creation have priority in signing up, meaning that I'll only accept those people's character sheets. After three days, on October 13th, I'll open this up to anyone else who's interested (If there's open slots).
• To avoid speed-posting, please wait for 3 other people to post before you do.
• Please keep posts at two paragraphs maximum. (You can have two paragraphs for each character if they're in different locations.)
• Try to post at least once or twice a day! More would be awesome, but I understand if people are on a tight schedule.
• Please read all the rules! If you have, sneak the word "butt" into your character sheet somehow. If you don't do this, I won't accept your character, and there's a strong possibility I won't accept you if you go back and add it in later. Read the rules bros!

Character Creation

• Two character maximum!
• No original characters please.
• If you make two characters, keep them unrelated to each other (different series and different homes). However, it is perfectly fine for someone else to make a character from the same series as one of your characters. The key is to make diversity and keep character
• Branching off of the previous rule, there can only be two characters from the same fandom.
• No godlike characters, or super powerful characters in general.
• Please post your character sheet in OOC. The Characters tab is for accepted characters.

Spotlights

This is a small relaxed group roleplay, which is nice for people with busy schedules (like myself). Despite it's size however, I understand when you feel like you have no contribution to the story. The solution? Spotlights. At the start of every episode (explained in other hider), every player gets one Spotlight. To use it, just put above your post (or your specific character's post) a bold Spotlight with it's color. When someone uses a Spotlight, and it effects your character, you must react to it. You cannot use your own Spotlight to counteract it directly. There are two types of Spotlights you can use:

Spotlight Blue - You can add something to story that involves one of your characters.
Spotlight Red - An action your character does is automatically successful.

There are limits to the Spotlight of course. Spotlight Blues cannot go past the episode and into the main story (saying your character is connected to the village, fog, tower, etc), and you have to stay within the context of the episode's story. You also can't use a Spotlight Blue to end an episode's story. Spotlight Reds cannot be used to kill characters or other huge actions (bringing someone back from the dead, finding a way to escape the village). This is meant to be for smaller actions, such as stealing, tricking, attacking, escaping, and many other story-context situations.

The bottom-line: I'm giving you guys a very powerful tool, but please use it subtly and to benefit the story and not just yourself. Keep things light-hearted and fun too!

Episodes

This will also be listed in the Character Thread. This roleplay will run on an episode system. While the roleplay is flexible and built around character interactions, each episode will introduce a new character or thing that comes from the tower. Like Courage the Cowardly Dog, our cast of colorful characters have to find a way around each newcomer/problem. Episodes are flexible with how long they are, and they can end at anytime when the host thinks it's finished. I am test-running this gameplay style, so there will be changes here and there as we move forward.

Episodes don't have to be run by just me. If you're ever interested in hosting an episode, you can PM me your idea! If I think it works, I'll have you host your episode once the current one has been finished with.

So hi! I've been itching to get into a multiverse roleplay again after years without one. Despite the title and introduction, this is supposed to be a light-hearted roleplay with wacky shenanigans. I'm hoping to go for a more sandbox-oriented setup, where stories are generated through roleplaying. The only leading story would be the search for an escape, the tower, and the introduction of a new npc every few in-game weeks (Or how I like to go by it, Episodes). Think of Courage the Cowardly Dog. Something or someone is introduced and our cast of characters finds a way to get around it. This will be a very relaxed roleplay though, something simple in which he can mess around with.

Let me know if you guys are interested. When this grows more attention, I'll go into a lot more depth with how the roleplay will work. I'm looking for a cast of 4-5 players. Thanks for reading!
