Ya know that moment when you think it's the few quiet moments before the storm? But then the storm is like "I DO WHAT I WANT! IMMA START NOW! SUCK ON THAT!" yeah, that's been me for awhile now.

Back to the grind, and not like, a fun grind like grinding pepper or grinding at a club, just a sort of grind-iggity grind

Ours is not to question Why, ours is but to do and die, and yet, an unexamined life is not worth living. That being said I suppose I'm just an English Major trying to figure my life out in a Central American Country. It takes me about 20 minutes to get a decent sized, casual-ready, post finished, on a good day. However, I've got this bad habit of leaving my computer up when I'm not in front of it so just cuz I'm 'Online' don't mean I'm focused. Of course, even if I'm staring right at something directly in front of me don't mean I'm focused either....

shout out to the artist who made this: David Cristobal, his work is awesome.
Name: Quinn Whitfoot Age: 21 Mutation: Quinn’s skin is made entirely of a wood-like substance, allowing him the same range of motion and movement, this material is less flammable than normal wood but more so than skin, making him not as much a walking fire hazard as he could be. On the plus side, is is as hard as wood can get, so for the most part Quinn doesn’t worry about falling or taking damage from unarmed attacks. Quinn has also developed limited Xylokinesis, primarily Quinn manipulates the wood of his skin into various shapes, weapons and tools, but he’s also displayed an ability to communicate in a primitive fashion with trees, and once, when fully angered and just before falling unconscious, he caused a small tree to grow rapidly from his feet, but that was a long time ago… Bio: Quinn was born to two surprised, albeit good-hearted parents. James and Anne Whitfoot were not exactly expecting a kid to come along when it did, and weren’t very ready for it, bit they did what it is you do, they took the kid to the Hospital to be checked for the X-Gene. Quinn had it, boy did Quinn have it. The doctor had had a few at lunch, and coming back, his hands shaky, he dropped Quinn, right onto the floor, but when Quinn landed it wasn’t with the shock that occurs when one drops a baby, but with the distinguished thunk that accompanies a clash wood on Linoleum. Quinn’s X-gene was already protecting him, it had temporarily lignified his skin, protecting him from the fall. It was at that moment that Quinn’s parent’s breathed a sigh of relief. It was in the next moment that they held their breath again though, for Quinn’s skin had not changed back. This, their general surprise at having him at all, and many other factors are what caused Quinn’s parents to give him up. So Quinn grew up, Collared, raised by the government in a freak camp. Life wasn’t so bad, mostly because he didn’t know any better. Things happened, he grew up in the home of Maggie (Voice manipulation) and Derek (Impenetrable skin) Jonson. The Jonson's provided a loving and caring home to Quinn, even telling him when he was fairly young about the adoption and his past. Prone to rebellion but never doing anything bad enough to get on anyone’s terrible list, one day Quinn found himself exactly there. They found him… well, they found him with someone he probably should not have been, and the next day he found himself transferred to this new Sanctuary. That was when he was 16, he's been here for several years now, but for the most part has tried to keep his head down, besides, nothing TOO terrible has happened to him here yet....right?
T.J. lazily reached across and grabbed a key from the table. "I'll take this one then, unless anyone has any Objections. As I said before, unless there is anything else people wish to discuss, I'm going to go unpack, maybe at a less ungodly hour we all sit down and get to know one another, huh?”
He looked at the tag, Attic on the right huh? Well, perhaps Fate knew what she was doing after all. The attic would provide him ample ability to be awake at all hours and not overwhelmingly disturb too many people, the noisome-to-some smells of old take-out food mixing with dirty laundry and various other, less-wholesome substances would make its way upward and out of the house, instead of into other rooms, or elsewhere. His head whipped around as he heard the door creak, and thought that he saw something...Must've been nothing though...
Phil held up his hands in mock surrender, damn, though he supposed that he had has his question answered, he knew the rules now, He hadn't intended to do any "Deathsquad shit" as it had been put, but frankly this whole thing had been a little too "black-ops" when explained to him, still he was glad he knew where he stood. Phil adjusted his hat a bit with his right hand, and jerked around a bit with his left, he just couldn't get comfortable with this thing, no matter which way he turned or shifted.
Reaching out to take another sip of his coffee, Phil used the moment that Moore walked into the room to size up the late-comer who'd also gotten chewed out, difference was that his had happened the moment he had walked in the door, enough to put anyone off their game. What was strange was that it barely seemed to phase the new guy, Phil smirked at that, he liked someone with a little backbone. The guy was tall, thin facial hair, the type you'd see in an old pirate movie or summat, short nondescript hair, but otherwise built pretty well, hard but kind features, like a Preacher givin some stern advice to a somewhat mischievous youngster. That didn't mean the man didn't know what he was doing, in fact in Phil's experience, the more someone looked like you could underestimate, the more dangerous it was to do so. The way he talked, and the way his arm clinked, Phil figure'd they probably had sumthin' in common. But it was then that the man made his speech, so his thoughts were cut off as he listened.
Phil listened, and then laughed, this guy sure was something. What exactly he was Phil wasn’t sure, but whatever it was that he was, Phil liked it. Phil kicked the chair next to him in front of the speaker, a clear invitation to sit down, “Buddy a mine’s up north and got a lead that might be right up your alley, friend” Phil added calmly.
