Bio: A recent graduate from High School, Raymond has been putting off his college applications and been working at the local garage. He's reluctant to leave his friends and just wants to live in his parents' basement all his life, but he knows this is very unrealistic. Ever since he was young, Ray had a fascination with finding out how things tick. Some of his fondest memories involve his friends and a potato cannon he built out of PVC pipe, as well as the police (long story). He built his own computer (though it craps out every now and then, and he's too cheap to get replacement parts/a new computer) and used to play WoW with Jack, Ashers and David, but decided it cut too much into his real life (and his pocket). He spends most of his money on cigarettes, which he tries to keep a secret from his parents. Only his friends know that he smokes. He's also a bit of a pyro.
Hobbies/Likes: Video Games, Hanging out with friends, building stuff, frugality, smoking, fire.
Dislikes: work, responsibility, being taught, aesthetics over practicality.
Relationships status: Single.
Anybody out there interested in doing a 40k RP?

I'd prefer an Imperial Guard or Inquisition setting, but if people want to do another setting (Space Marines, Mechanicus, Orks), I guess I could crank something out.

The scenario in my head is as follows: The PCs are on a troop transport going towards the feudal planet Sisk. The PCs are either troops from different IG regiments or all new inquisitorial acolytes. The ship suddenly shudders and alarms start blaring, calling for all personnel onboard to abandon ship and to make for the life pods. The PCs all manage to get into the same life pod and land on the planet's surface. Once landed, they must figure out what is happening and make their way back to friendly lines.

I'd prefer if I had at least 2-3 people interested in this before I actually start this up. This is all based off a scenario I made from the "Only War" rulebook, so if anyone would want this taken to the tabletop board, I'd be happy to oblige (though I'm rather doubtful there's enough people who know about "Only War," much less have the rulebook, to do such a thing).

EDIT: OOC is up!
Ray was singing a raunchy little ditty under his breath as he approached the tavern. He was actually quite pleased with his recent acquisition and with the price he paid for it. And with the 'negotiation.'

"When I was 'prenticed in Lendr'a/ I came to see my dear..."

She was quite willing to let it go for free, but Ray had more respect for the instrument than to take it for free. However, he couldn't go spending his money willy-nilly like before. He had to budget what few funds he had left, at least, until the StarDusk Pirates could bring in a nice haul.

"The candles all were burning/ The moon shone bright and clear..."

That's what life is going to be from now on, isn't it? High larceny with the occasional side order of slaughter. As a pirate flew out of one of the tavern's windows, he added to himself, And bar fights. Especially bar fights. Can't forget the moment that I signed onto this crazy adventure. Well, actually...

"I knocked upon her window/ To ease her out of her pain..."

Entering the tavern, he deftly dodged a barstool and sidestepped a pair of grappling brutes, all while carrying the viola case. He saw a glimpse of the captain in the fray, but not much of her, being obscured from view by the larger men. She can handle more than this, no problem. Their eyes met for an instant, hers bored and his flashing with a wink.

"She rose to let me in and then..."

He stepped over to the bar, nicked a bottle of gin and navigated his way out of the fight and tavern. If I'm a pirate, may as well act like one, and what better way to start than some petty larceny?

"...she barred the door again."
Oh, speed posting is a definite no-no. That I knew. But thanks for clearing that bit up.
I vote Future, and agree with Crya. Best character I could see myself realistically playing was a Hobo.
Definitely interested, but to tired/lazy too do all the reading/catch-up tonight. Maybe tomorrow, probably.
Is this thread still going, and if so, is there room for more?
Sounds interesting. I'm game.
I'll crank out a char sheet once we get an OOC/more interest going.
It's been a while since I've been in an RP, so maybe the unspoken rules have changed a bit, but are we following a strict posting cycle? I'm chomping at the bit to post some more, and this is the only active RP I'm posting in (yet).
