Satisfied that everyone was fine, Rayvius picked up the data-slates he had copied the map data to and handed them out, along with the commbeads to those who didn't have any.
"Okay, everyone, listen up. We can't stay here for much longer; those guys know where we are and they're probably telling their friends. I've given you all maps of these islands. You'll notice there's a village on the western island, near the west coast. There's another, larger village on the north point of the north island, and there's a listening post near there too. There are two things we need. First, we need a way off these islands, and unless any of us are competent sailors, I doubt we'll get far on the raft we're building, though we could use it to get around the archipelago without running into any more surprises like we just faced. We could probably find some kind of craft, and hopefully people who know how to operate it in one of these two villages. The second thing we need is to get to the listening post. The post is hidden and is abandoned, so we probably use it as a base. I need to get there to reestablish contact with friendly forces, as well as my master, and we can't do either with the limited range on the vox-caster from the life-pod. I suggest we head there first, and then see about acquiring a ship. We'll take all the camping gear and all the rations we can carry." Ray produced a las-carbine from the pile of equipment. "If you don't have a better gun, take one of these. Take the vox-caster and the magnoculars, as well as all the extra ammo you can carry. We burn anything we can't bring with us so our enemies can't use them. Any objections?"
