Rayvius joined his fellow Astartes in the dining room. He found the decorations somewhat off-putting. Celebrating tales of heroics were all well and good, but reeked of traditionalism; Rayvius preferred practicality over aesthetics and dogmatism. The stone table was a refreshing breath of simplicity. Brother Carus introduced himself rather briefly, followed by Brother-Sergeant Arkhas. He was clearly a brute, even amongst astartes, but Ray had learned that underestimating even the most brutish of space marines is often a fatal mistake. They tended to be more determined than other astartes, and could be counted on not to doubt themselves or their abilities. Case and point: this one was speaking in High Gothic.

Rayvius stood to introduce himself after Arkhas finished. "I am Rayvius 'Moyses' Skalterion of the Dark Angels. I have spent ninety years with the Deathwatch, mostly as a kill-marine. I am prepared to serve as a scout or a tactical marine, as our commander wishes." He inclined is head slightly in Arkhas' direction. He folded his hands into an Aquila and ended with a simple, "The Emperor Protects," before sitting, and mulling over what services he required of Syrus.
Happy birthday in advance, Nobodyman123.

Also, sorry, I got lazy. I'll post something soon.
"Well, Hoverbot, it looks like we're getting another shipment of platinum today. Even though I told Control five times that its next to useless here and that they should send something more appropriate to this dimension/galaxy/whatever. Like Gold, or silver, or gems. Hell, art sells better than Platinum here." Raymond Skalter paced around the TechroCorp Trading Post, which was little more than a small Warehouse with a corner partitioned off for Raymond's personal space. The robot followed his movements with its primary sensors as soon as it detected its designation spoken. Raymond's exoskeleton's pneumatic servos whined softly with each step he took. He sighed, cradling his forehead in his palm, the sound came out as static. "I'm talking to my robot again. I must be bored. No, not bored, lonely." He sighed again. "Hoverbot." The floating robot perked up again, awaiting orders from it's master. "Process the new shipment of platinum when it arrives, and watch over the shop; if anyone drops by, give the usual pre-recorded away message. I'm going for a walk." The robot gave a confirmatory beep and drifted over towards the Matter Transference Device. Raymond walked out into the streets, grumbling and thinking to himself about the few things he could do with platinum here.
Ohmygod. This is amazing.

Name: Raymond Skalter

Age: 184

Race: Human

Looks:

Personality: Raymond is quite friendly to most everyone, and despises people who can't use their manners. He is a rather serious person, but can get quite excited. He enjoys learning about new things, so his stay in Arom has been quite enjoyable; every day is a learning experience.

Short bio: Ray is an employee of TechroCorporation, and has worked for them for over a century. They have provided him several replacement organs, including an artificial voicebox after an incident that Ray doesn't like talking about. If asked, he will say that he is an engineer for TechroCorp, but won't speak much about the company, claiming a lack of knowledge, which is half-true.
Ray is in Arom to oversee the TechroCorp trading post in the city of Arom, which has turned out to be a rather boring job. Raymond is the only person assigned to the Arom Trading Post, so there is nobody he really knows. Though Raymond finds many things that interest him, he only purchases things that interest TechroCorp, which means advanced technology. TechroCorp has sent several thousand platinum ingots for Ray to trade with, but platinum is not a terribly valuable mineral in Arom, and it is rare for someone to come through who will buy the platinum for a decent price, so Ray often spends weeks doing nothing in terms of official business. Any communication with Techrocorp takes about one month to get to its destination, and another month for a reply, so Ray is quite out of touch with things back at TechroCorp.
Regardless of his lack of work, Ray enjoys his posting and will often take courier jobs or work involving heavy lifting to make ends meet.

Other: Though physically frail, he possesses an armored exoskeleton which helps him move around and perform considerable acts of strength. He is armed with a pistol, though he rarely, if ever, uses it, and a Tech Staff, which possess a variety of tools for various uses, the most notable of which is a chain-axe. He also has a TechroCorp Hoverbot, which can carry up to 200 pounds of cargo, and is equipped with a shock gun as a non-lethal deterrent and defense. It possesses a lethal mode, but it has been deactivated by Raymond for the duration of his stay in Arom.
I feel I must drop out of this thread, which is quite a pity, because I believe this site needs more freeform threads and I really enjoy the setting. I simply can't keep up with all the characters, the length of posts and the rapid post speed. Sorry guys.
A group of soldiers started heading straight towards the castle, ignoring the weapons cache Ray uncovered. Ray hesitated. He could go with the army towards the docks, or he could go to the castle and possibly save Runali. He made up his mind and started moving towards the docks, telling himself that if Captain Runali had survived this long, she she didn't need his help to survive, but she could probably use a way off this crazy island.

There were sporadic groups of Pirates along the streets, but very few, and most of them simply fled at the sight of a mob of angry men. Those that didn't either met their end at the blade of Ray's sword or at the hands of the army, a nasty way to go. The trip to the warehouses was rather brief, or it seemed brief to Ray, who spent most of his time sneaking towards the prison, or running from that first pirate patrol after he first snuck off the ship.

While the soldiers looted the warehouses for their stolen weapons, Ray checked the docks and noticed the Coral Pearl was not just intact, but back in the hands of his comrades. The first squads of re-armed soldiers came out of the warehouses as Ray jogged down to the pier to greet his friends. He was shocked to see that the squad next to him knelt and sighted their muskets at the Coral Pearl. He quickly charged into their group and tackled the nearest one, sending all their shots wide.

“Stop! They're on our side!” Ray cried, trying to stop them. He got up and tried to stop another squad from firing at the ship, but the men he just tackled seized him.

“You'll all answer for your crimes, pirate scum.” An officer growled, “You think just because you let us go means you won't be punished? Tie him up and take him back to the prison.”

Before anyone could bring rope however, something round bumped into the officer's feet. He looked down and shouted at the top of his lungs, “GRENADE!!!” The soldiers holding him released him and immediately dove into the water. Ray ran down the planks as fast as his legs could carry him before the bomb went off, knocking him to his feet and severing the pier from land. He looked back ashore and saw a flash of red hair and a smile before he picked himself up and got to the Coral Pearl.

Luro, Marcos and Danny were onboard the ship, but the Captain was nowhere to be seen. “Good to see you guys. It's been a long day.” A shot ricocheted nearby and Ray ducked. “We may wish to get this ship underway.” A cannon boomed and a cannonball whizzed past his head. “Jaysus, what the hell have you gotten yourselves into?” Ray asked from the deck, which he had dropped to to avoid the shot.
Psyker Landshark said "Greetings." He stated while eyeing a particularly shiny piece of wargear out of the corner of his eye.

Bloody magpies....
Question: Would a sci-fi character be appropriate in this thread? I feel the need to ask, considering the RP is being populated with anime/fantasy themed characters.
