@Mayadere I was thinking the exact same thing. Key would probably see Ru-Ru outside of class seeing as he wants to be a guardian and would probably join them on patrols and whatnot.
I'm guessing that in such a small village out characters would more or less all know each other, right? At least by name or reputation, unless a character is intentionally isolated that is.
Edited my character's magic to be more specific.
Name: Keyton Hogarth, his name is often shortened simply to Key by other kids and adults nearly always call him "kiddo" or some variation of that.

Age: 10 years old

Gender: Male

Race: Half-elf

Appearance:
((Minus the headphones and plus two elf ears.))

Occupation: Student

Skills: Running, hiding, climbing, sneaking, magic and foraging.

Powers: Strong elemental magic, specifically he focuses on manupulating earth and plants. At the moment he can do things like clusters of earth around and bend plants and tree branches, he is currently learning to accelerate growth and move bigger chucks.

Inventory: A training staff he uses to focus his magic that looks like a long branch with a green gem on top. A green hooded cloak that's perfect for blending in amongst the trees.

History: Long ago when the wrath of the gods fell upon the land humans and elves fled to escape. Keyton's ancestors were amount these, they reached the safe heaven of the village and though traditionally staying apart the reducing population of each race made them eventually come together. Keyton is among the first children of this inter racial breeding. Since a young age the half elf has had a fascination with magic, his mother, an elf who works as a scholar in the library, encouraged this and granted him access to his ancestor's arcane knowledge. His father often took him out into the woods and taught him to forage, the boy also learnt to climb trees and observe which plants and fruits were edible. School was never Keyton's strong suit, with magic and foraging practise at home he much prefers to spend his time socialising and playing with other students. In his free time he does much the same, often unintentionally ending up in trouble when he accidentally knocks over a trader's table in a game of tag or sneaks into the guardian's HQ during a game of hide and seek. Keyton admires the guardians, ever since he first saw them safeguarding the village he knew that he wanted to be one and that is what he intends to do when he becomes an expert in magic.

Point of Interest: Tall-tree park. An ancient clearing just north of the main village, encircled by small stones the clearing contains several massive oak trees that stretch high above the rest of the surrounding forest, each easily 40 ft tall with dozens of branches. The park is popular amount residents of all ages, it's a fairly tranquil place where people often go either to relax, study and converse. The place is also enjoyed by the children of the village, the wide open space is perfect for playing games and running around.
CS incoming!
Yeah I'm sorry about that but I kinda thought it'd be easier if our characters split up sooner rather than later, I couldn't really think of a good way to get started given the position we started in. Shan't happen again.
Tailor smirked as he handed the eyeglass back to Ava. "Things are getting interesting. Guess that speech wasn't just a pep rally after all." He said, twisting his head to look over the city and back to the palace. "When do you think they'll attack?" Asked Ava who continued to stare out at the camp. "When the gate opens." Tailor's reply was met with a quick burst of laughter from the head guard. "They'll have a long wait ahead of them then, we can just seal the gate and move supplies in by the sky." Tailor shook his head. "I've seen this before, they've probably got people inside waiting the city who will open the gate when they get the chance." Ava gasped and spun her head around to glare at the man. "You're not serious are you Tailor? How could they do that?" Bringing a hand up to rub his chin the officer thought for a little while. "Run a background check on each of the gate guards and step up the frequency and intensity of ID checks. Stop and search anyone suspicious passing through the public sectors." With a quick nod and salute Ava turned to put the defences in place. "Oh and one more thing Ava, while I'm working its not Tailor it's Justice." The two parted ways and Tailor headed for his private hover car, intending to travel to the archives.
Angus sat on the seat of his cart, whistling an old tune to himself as he and his horse descended the mountain pass away from his forge. It was early morning when he reached the sprawling Hyrule field, he took in a deep breath of the clean, fresh and moist air that made a difference to the dusty and dry air he was used to. Glancing up at the sun he leant forward and pat the side of his horse. "Should be at the town in no time." As the cart passed by the Lon Lon ranch he looked up to see one of the young horses racing around the cliff edge beside it's mother, he smiled up at it then back to his own steed, thinking back to when the two had first met. "To think that you and me were once as young as that lil' guy up there." He chuckled.

Just before mid morning the carriage passed over the stone bridge beside the Castletown walls, the sound of the festival was echoing down from the village and Angus could feel some excitement building inside him, he felt like a kid again, hearing stories of the hero's grand adventure and hoping one day he'd have one of his own. Finally the cart reached it's destination, Angus hopped off the cart and stretched, rubbing his back and letting out a yawn. "Well, here we are!" Leaving his trusted horse outside the town with the cart he headed in, gazing around at the stalls and celebrations all taking place in his old home town. The place was just as he remembered it, the many wooden houses and stores, the towering death mountain above, the creaky old windmill and the mysterious well next to it, the passage leading off to the graveyard that had terrified him as a child and even the small fenced off chicken hutch that never kept the livestock. Along with the old familiar sights he took note of the various stalls, there didn't seem to be many tool or weapon vendors, in fact it mostly seemed to be cheap merchandise stalls which appeared to be there solely to draw in children.

After a little while of browsing Angus set about trying to find somewhere to set up his stall and. As he began to search the blacksmith realised just how packed the town was, thankfully his imposing hight and stature allowed him to pass through the crowd and soon enough he found a vacant stall outside the potion store. After about an hour he had his display set out, from gardening tools to throwing knives, all his stock was neatly arranged from left to right with the jolly giant stood with his arms folded behind the wooden counter. "Finest tools in all of Hyrule!" He bellowed out over the chatter of the fair, his voice attracting the attention it was intended to. "Limited stock from a master craftsmen!" He smiled as the first customers began to look his goods over and inquire about prices and quality, while not a great salesman Angus was friendly and his pride in his work assured people of the value. "The hero himself wouldn't turn these tools down! Farmers! Warriors! Guards and adventurers! All can find something with buying!"
