Role models are something I never bought into. I don't want to model my life on anyone else's; I admire/like things about certain people, but that doesn't mean I do or should actively seek to emulate them.
The way I see it, the very fact that I admire something in someone means I'm already inclined to be that way myself and so the whole "role model" concept kinda falls through. Because I don't need to change to emulate someone else, but rather just have to work on improving those traits which already exist in me (thus making the existence of someone else with those traits irrelevant.)
And yes I'm aware how uppity this sounds. x_x
