Name: Caist Arad
Gender: Male
Age: 26
Height: 5'11"
Weight: 135 lbs.
Appearance
Head: Caist keeps his ginger hair cut short, typically combed to the right. His sideburns run a quarter of the way down his face. His light blue eyes are framed by a pair of dark, square-framed glasses. While he does not keep a beard or mustache, it's common for Caist to occasionally leave some stubble along his strong jawline.
Torso: Caist is not terribly thin, nor is he terribly fat. He typically wears button-up shirts, occasionally with ties. He will sometimes wear a vest or suit jacket to accompany the shirt. It should be noted that overall, Caist's fashion is predominantly cheap or hand-me-down suits.
Arms: Caist's arms are typically covered by the sleeves of his shirts. His arms show some muscle tone, but are by no means well worked. On his left wrist is a delicate silver chain that belonged to his mother.
Legs: .Typically, Caist wears a corresponding pair of slacks to the rest of his suit. Muscle tone is more apparent in his legs, as his job sees him running and walking a great deal. His choice in footwear can vary greatly, from loafers, to high top sneakers, to running shoes, depending on the day.
Personality: When he is not working, Caist is often introverted, preferring his quiet apartment to the mental loudness of most public places. While is public, he attempts to be fairly friendly and pleasant, ignoring the passing thoughts of anyone near him, trying to get to know them rather than read them like a book. This kind of behavior changes when he's on a case, however, as he will often keep stone-faced, quiet, and listen more to a person's internal voice rather than the external. Caist also wrestles with a short temper, his most hated personality trait that he has carried since childhood.
History: Caist was the son of a human mother and Wanderer father. At a young age, his father was killed in what has always been ruled as an accident. In his early years, after his father's death, Caist developed a strong temper, complaining of headaches and people taunting him. In truth, these were his own, latent psionic powers beginning to manifest. These fits began to turn violent, with several items in his house becoming destroyed without being touched. The worst of all was an uncontrolled tantrum that shattered his mother's mind, leaving her brain dead and on life support. It was at this time that his grandmother, resentful of the child and his powers, sent him to the Prometheus Academy, believing that he was a "Wanderer problem," not her's. There, Caist learned to reign in his psychic abilities, albeit with much difficulty. While at the Academy, he was forbidden contact with his mother or other family by his grandmother, and instead found solace in his friends and professors. It wasn't until his final year at the Academy that he discovered that his mother had died only a few months after being sent away. Further, he began to understand that perhaps his father's death was not the accident it had been claimed to be. After these revelations, Caist became obsessed with finding out the truth, using his finely-tuned psychic abilities to help. While he is still seeking for answers, he decided to put his deductive abilities to use post-graduation as a private investigator, operating in mid-town Ceteris.
Powers: Caist is a primary Psion. Therefore, his strengths lie in his ability to read minds, create illusions, mental links from rather decent distances (so long as he knows where the subject is, he can establish a link to any willing person in the city), and influence the opinion of others. His telekinesis is also quite strong, allowing him to lift at least double his own weight without much concentration. He is also able to manifest psychic weapons, preferring smaller bladed weapons.
