Mei watched Kyo blur past her at the immediate sound of the scream. She ran after, her hood flying back as she ran. By the time she got there, she found the guy in the Daft Punk helmet writhing on the ground. "What happened?" she whispered to no one in particular.
Mei looked at Ashlynn, confused at using the phrase that popped into her head. "The fuck...?" Who was she, anyway? Before she had the chance to ask, they had already started down the cells looking for...whatever they were looking for. As they disappeared down the Green Mile of Hell, Mei went back outside. Whatever was being searched for, she knew she would not be of any help finding it.

She had completely forgot that Kyo had not entered the room and was still outside. "Oh..." she said. After an uncomfortable few seconds, she spoke again, staring ahead. "So...your face looks better."
This entire thing kept getting more confusing, but Mei wanted answers. Was that Kyo guy involved in this? Explains the insane burns, messing with people like this. She wanted to stop and ask what his role in this thing was (and admire the nurse's handiwork repairing his face).

Then the other guy in the Daft Punk helmet started powering the entire room ahead, talking about experiments? How did that tie into the Egyptian Alley Attackers Society? She stood barely a foot into the doorway, trying to process it all.
Albeit a little late, Mei followed the note left on her dorm door. Had it not been for the fact that only a half dozen people that attended the Academy would even know about what was going on, it felt legitimate. That still didn't quell her urge to keep a icy dagger in the right wrist of her black hoodie.

Approaching the designated area, Mei could see several figures standing around a door. She approached slowly, hood up, ready to drop the dagger from her sleeve or roast whoever would attempt to attack her. As she approached, the familiar forms of Dark and Jade (names she had learned in the days after the alley) came into view. She dropped the dagger into her hand, letting it melt quickly. She quietly stepped into the group.
Mei stared at Dark for a moment. Did he just invite her into a war, or whatever this was? She stood there for a moment, silent. This was far too big of a commitment to make on such little sleep. "Let me think about it, okay?" she asked. "I'll find you when I have an answer." With that she turned around, wandering out of the Gardens and back to her dorm.

Mei looked at him strangely. Nurse girl? The mental image of her in the stereotypical nurse outfit almost made her burst out into a fit of giggles. Lack of sleep after major trauma was a strange experience. "Um...yeah. They just disappeared. The guy...Ozymandias, whatever, must be a white mage. He looked like he was healing Ivy before they teleported. At least I think he did. There was some light coming from over where they had her."
Mei looked up, the line suddenly very familiar and clear to her. "Nothing beside remains...round the decay of that colossal wreck, boundless and bare....the lone and level sands stretch far away. Ozymandias. It's the poem." Why was that guy reciting it? Pretentiousness? Was it code for something? Was he just a Breaking Bad fan?
Mei was a little surprised that she was on the spot like this. Wasn't she supposed to start asking questions? She felt like she needed something more specific than "There was another attack." Though a complete stranger, another person was nearly hacked to pieces right before her eyes, and Mei herself almost died. "Um...some woman, she...she looked like a cat. She, uh, fought Ivy next. I tried to help, but she kept going on about some shit about rules and honor, so I was forced to watch. That's when it happened...she started hacking Ivy apart with ice daggers, I think. I tried to get her, the er, cat woman, away from her. The wall of fire worked long enough for another girl to grab her, but someone else cracked me in the back of the head...the rest was mostly blurry because of that. The woman held the rest of us back, then she and the guy that snuck up on me disappeared with Ivy." Mei closed her eyes, wincing as she began to audibly discuss what had been running over her mind all night.
"The other girl's fine," Mei said from behind Jade, obviously tired. Her pixie cut was spiked upward from tossing and turning, eyes darkened from lack of sleep, and her same clothes from yesterday clinging to her body. She kept her head down, avoiding the glare of the sun. "We...I...deserve answers. From all of you."
Mei begins to look around, confused. She feels like she should be asking questions, but she doesn't know where to start. Were those...Guardians? How did they find out about this? What is this anyway? And the one that insisted on meeting in the Gardens...that was the guy that visited Kyo in the hospital. What did he know about this?

Standing up, Mei tried to think of others she could discuss this with. Alvarez was an obvious choice...maybe Professor Hanraiden? Surely something like this wouldn't be too farfetched, especially with the wounds - there was no pain in the back of her head. No wound, then. Sighing heavily, Mei held her head as if the coward that clocked her in the back of the head did so a dozen times. This was bad. After requesting leave from one of the white mages, Mei went to hail a cab, holding for the Jade girl, sure she would follow.
