Questioning her suit's efficiency was clearly not the way to go about staying alive against Sophia, as Abigail made the right guess in getting shot down by the cannon. The suit dropped down to one knee and lifted the left arm again, bracing it with the right arm this time as she quickly shot three times in succession, one on either side of Abigail, and the last straight towards her.

It was still a distraction, though, as once the shots were fired, she reached down to the slower leg and checked the vents. A few manual presses and pushes, and the best quick burst of steam pushed out some debris that had gotten stuck inside. "Don't you ever question my tech. The fact that I've made this suit able to put out so much power and speed without sacrificing longevity, managing to keep the boiler protected without building up pressure, those are already feats! And as for efficiency, don't think I'm about to run out of fluid any time soon. I filled up the tank before you and I even came face to face, and I can keep it going for longer than you'll live to see!"

Done with her latest boast about her armor, she picked her hammer back up and waited to see how the pirate had responded to her quick shots. Now that Abigail had actually managed to hinder her for a moment, she was sick of the girl beyond the insults about maturity.
"Okay, so it does more than sparks!" Sophia couldn't stop her momentum fast enough. Her long lunge landed short of Abigail, and the cracked crumbled under her foot, red sparks coursing along the leg that sunk into the crack. She seemed more aggravated than distressed though, even as sparks of lightning danced along the plates of her armor.

"Too bad it won't save your life in the long run!" She rose her hammer, and the vents opened on one side, a jet of stream releasing as she brought the hammer down on the ground near her stuck leg, the increased momentum thanks to the stream shattering the ground around her leg further, now surrounded by rubble instead of a crevice as she stood up straight, kicking her leg a bit, releasing some steam as she inspected the joint. No obvious damage, and as she twirled the hammer in her hands a bit, she laughed.

"Bet you're wondering why that one isn't leaving me in epileptic spasms either. I'll let you in on something. My hammer conducted your blast before just fine, straight to my armor. The reason it didn't affect me is because there's an insulation layer under the plates. Keeps the temperature from getting too hot, keeps any overwhelming impacts from hurting me while I'm inside...and doesn't conduct electricity. Can't stab the outside, can't shock the inside!" She crouched down again, steam jetting from the vents on her legs again as she charged towards Abigail again. It was a little difficult to tell, but this charge seemed just a tad bit slower than the others.
Sophia smirked beneath the armor, steam jetting from the vents on her legs, the pressure releasing as she charged at Abigail once again. She hardly ever actually got a kill with her cannon; the explosion was solid, but the ball was too small for anything but a direct hit to really finish off anyone. It was for what she has just accomplished; knocking her enemies off-balance for the finishing blows.

"You know, insulting me over and over again is just gonna make me feel better about caving your skull in. Or maybe I'll go for the ribs, see how you like bone fragments in your lungs. Your sword isn't getting through my armor, and I don't plan on sitting still and seeing what else your little Devil Fruit might be capable of besides lame little sparks!"

She didn't take long to close the distance, and she was almost in striking range of Abigail again, only this time with a weapon. Between the wrist cannon and her ability to catch up so quickly, playing keep-away with Sophia's Aesir Armor wasn't going to be easy. Staying close was also dangerous because of the immediate power of the strikes. The suit was too durable for the sword, and the Dendo-Dendo no Mi didn't have any obvious effect on it.

Regardless of immaturity, especially for a marine, it seemed as though Sophia had every right to be arrogant.
"You want a name?! It's Sophia! Sophia Kolben!"

The girl pulled the hammer from her side again, the center of it glowing faintly as steam rose, a separate boiler active and ready to pump some power into her swings.

"You sick of my bragging? I'll gladly rip your ears off for you then, pirate!"

Sophia was just going to take some time to play with her armor some in combat. Make sure everything was working right, no misaligned plates or issues in the boiler systems. The armor was complicated enough that she needed plenty of supplies to test and upgrade it efficiently, and she needed the villager's money and supplies to do it. Well, now she could make a killing off of taking down a Devil Fruit-using pirate scum.

She pointed her left arm at Abigail first, flicking the wrist upwards to reveal a small barrel under the arm. The motion went ahead and fired the miniature cannon, with an explosive shell firing straight at the retreating pirate. She didn't waste any time after the shot, crouching for a moment with hammer at the ready. She'd no doubt try to keep an eye on the girl, and pull off another one of those high speed lunges, although this one was coming with a weapon. Still, the suit's attacks were noticeably linear at this point; she could charge like a bull, but it seemed she turned like one too.
Sophia growled, although it wasn't very audible through the armor, as her punch barely missed Abigail during the girl's panic dodge. It seemed as though the armored suit wasn't very...suited for turning, as she stumbled forward another step before turning towards Abigail again, holding up one arm to block the incoming slash.

"Don't bother with that dinky sword; it's not gonna cut through my Aesir Armor any time soon. I designed this suit myself, I should know! And I don't know what was up with that lightning blast, but it's gonna take a better Devil Fruit than that to stop me!"

Whatever the case, the armor didn't look like it had any immediate weaknesses besides having trouble turning. It didn't even appear to have conducted any of the red electricity, or at least the hammer hadn't. It was even being powered by steam, which meant there was water in there somewhere. "And don't you dare call me a child again!" There wasn't going to be much of a chance to see it close up, as the Marine threw a heavy straight jab right at Abigail's gut.
"H-Hey!" The surprise attack wasn't unexpected, but the unusual red lightning was, and Sophia grabbed the hammer at her hip in a quick movement, thrusting it towards the lightning. The hammer was still metal, but the conducted electricity didn't seem to damage the weapon much, or conduct its way through the handle into the hilt. Just a release of steam from the elbow joint and hammerhead.

There was no fancy-ass acting with her voice now, and while it was still muffled, it was obvious that Abigail was fighting someone quite young for a marine. "HEY! Don't you know anything about dramatic monologues?! You're supposed to let me finish before piping up with your little comments in between! I don't actually care about your stupid requests or opinions, I was just giving you a fair warning!" As she ranted, she entered a slight crouching position, and slid the hammer back onto her hip.

"Forget it, I'm just gonna turn you into scrap!!!"

With that, she kicked off of the ground, lunging at Abigail, fist poised to throw a punch as she closed the distance between them at an alarming rate.
"You're really causing a mess of things for us, you know."

Abigail would find herself in an identical situation to Zypha, now trapped in a room with her respective opponent, and the woman would find herself being stared down by a massive suit of armor bearing the Marine crest, and faint trails of steam coming from the joints. Whoever was inside was completely covered, so exactly who she was fighting wasn't obvious. Not that it mattered; once the door slammed behind Abigail, the figure cleared their throat, crossing the arms, a puff of steam coming from above the shoulders as the suit prepared itself.

"So, the pirates come along playing heroes against our little operation. I didn't think the lot of you would make it this far! For what you're trying to do, you should even feel a little proud. And while you're definitely going to come out of this a prisoner or a corpse, how about I show you some good grace. If you worship something, go ahead and pray. If you have any final questions or requests, go ahead and ask. Once you're done with all of that, then you can pick up that sword and fight me."

The pirate could almost feel the grin from beneath the helmet as the marine pointed at the door behind her with one hand, the other at the armor's breastplate. "Someone like you won't be able to run from me with that seastone door behind you. And I bet you won't even be able to crack my Aesir Armor! So when you fight, better do it well, 'cause it'll be your last!"

@Archmage MCIf you don't want in, you don't want in. The point of making people limited early on though is to allow for growth. If everyone just starts off as extremely powerful and adept with their powers, then the issue of keeping things interesting involves making characters that are just impractically powerful, or throwing in deus ex machinas. I don't think anybody wants these things. There are going to be fights that are lost so the protagonists have a set goal and realization that they need to improve.

No, characters don't have to be braindead. It's easy to know how to overcome something with a bit of brainpower. That's why your opinion on doctors is that they're OP.

But sure, I could know where to strike a pressure point or tendon to disable someone. Can I though? I would have dedicated a good portion of my life to learning this shit in the first place, I'm not about to be some high-speed super-powerful ninja. They move three centimeters to the left and suddenly I've just poked them hard instead of accomplishing disabling them. I could have brewed myself up a fancy toxin that could kill someone in minutes. Does that mean I'm going to be able to inject it into someone's bloodstream in the heat of combat? Am I going to be able to get through armor?

I think you're less upset about assuming people to be braindead, and more upset that you can't reasonably pretend to be intelligent and overpowered.

Now then, I don't know about the other GMs, but I'd rather not have a pompous ass in the RP anyway. Good day to you.
Also, I apologize for not responding to anyone if I have been asked any recent questions. I'm getting ready to move out of my house and getting packing ready and looking at home options has been taking up some of my time and energy.
She glanced at her comrades but none of them seemed too eager to react in any way. One of the guys in uniforms asked Yvette and the other woman about what to do, not having any bright ideas of his own. The girl moved to the side of the ATV and placed a hand on its side. The good thing about living steel was that it was a good conductor of magic and as such a wall posed no real barrier for her magic. Letting a tiny bit of it bleed through the wall and out of the machine, she used the wind outside to gain information on the number and position of the people outside.

@Wind WildI'm not sure how I feel about this. I understand your character is all about the wind magic bit, but having it act as an omnipresent detection system through a vehicle is a little, not to be crude, but bullshit. Wind magic is not an extension of your body, but a force you manipulate and control, and a spell detecting the specific number, positioning, and especially movement of people, would be a different form of awareness entirely.

For example, GM Tex's character has this ability...

Primary Focus: Arcane
Magical Capabilities:
-Brian can 'feel' the aura around him due to his unique arcane network 'expanding' beyond his flesh's limitation. This modification is due to a tradition wherein a boy or girl's parents pulls very negligible portions of their child's network beyond the body's limitations, and teaches them to maintain this procedure for the rest of their childhood. This allows him to feel arcane disturbances, and physical entities within a respectable 4 yards of his body.
-Brian can expel even more arcane energy from his body, expanding his perception of physical obstructions and arcane disturbances up to a kilometer from his position. This requires immense focus, and does not allow him to see, or detail anything within his range beyond shape and sound.

And while that radius is certainly further than what you're doing right now, it's a little too precise and out of line to make sense. I'll let it be used to see that "Are there people? Yes. Are they moving? Yes." But not a specification on numbering or positioning.
