"I'm glad you did too." Thinking on it a little more, Aya was disappointed he hadn't kissed her for any longer. It had been such a short moment. But no, she couldn't be thinking anything like that! "Um. No, no we can't." She sits beside him, staring into the fire worriedly. "I don't know what this means."
@Fionraella
Aya takes a deep breath and walks over to him, coming to stand by his chair. While she means to address the herbs she's carrying, instead a different sentence comes out. "I've never been kissed before." She's surprised by her own words and barely knows what she means by them but waits for his response.

Aya pauses, trying to focus on anything else but this. Her eyes fall on the pile of wrapped herbs. Had Destin ran all the way out of camp or was he still there? He couldn't leave without having these for the Broms. She carefully picks them up and walks outside. It was much easier to put her duty as a healer first. She spots Destin walking around the fire and her breath catches. The colour returns to her cheek as the kiss plays out again in her mind.
Aya stands there, not exactly quite sure what just happened. "Eh?" Her mind is blank for a long moment as she goes through the emotions. Happiness, confusion, and even a bit of anger - How dare a boy kiss her without her permission! How dare she get her first kiss without really knowing what was going on! - it all poured through her. She was so baffled. What should she do? Go after him? What would she say? She touches her fingers to her lips. Perhaps she should ask someone for advice. But Destin was a Brom! What Rabin would possibly not care about that? Even though Sacha was his friend, she doubted that their friendship could bridge the gap between him being a Brom and him kissing her.
Aya blushes as she walks back over to him and carefully pins something to his shirt. I hope he doesn't mind this... "I... Uh... Well, it can be quite dangerous in the forest you know so... I want to make sure I see you again... Uh..." She couldn't believe the difficulty she was having explaining herself. "This is my grandmother's so... If you wear it, it's supposed to keep you safe and then maybe... Well, I hope it'll mean that I can see you again." The ruby eyes of a tiny black owl broach glinted in the dim light of the tent.
Aya's curiosity was piqued, but she wasn't sure whether it was right to question her leader's past without her permission. "Is that so?" she asked unsurely, knowing very little about this. "It sounds like you've been here a while, Destin." Upon wrapping up the herbs Aya wishes she could give Destin something more. After this, who knows when they would meet again. Even though she'd promised to meet him, her limited knowledge of the Broms still made her fear that they might do something to him should they find out he'd spent the night at the Rabins. Struck by an idea, she sidled over to her bedside table and picked something up.

Destin nods at her comment. "Yeah...awhile now." He shrugs, "I dunno. She had some..bad stuff happen to her before she became leader. I was going through some stuff with the Broms. We actually met when she became prisoner a long time ago. That was a horrible time, but I met one of my best friends so that makes it okay??" He blushes at the sweet comment and looks down shyly. "Oh, thanks Aya...you're...really pretty?" He kicks at the ground, horrible at taking compliments.

Aya doesn't reply to Destin's compliment because it practically short circuits her for a moment. Nobody's ever called me pretty... Well, my parents, but that hardly counts. Did he mean it or was he just returning the favour? Why do I care so much about this? Instead she frowns as she begins to wrap the herbs they'd work on for Destin in a way that would keep them safe as he travelled and focuses on the first part of comment. "I've always wondered about Sacha's past. I only met her not long after she'd become leader. It's hard to imagine her getting into trouble that would wind up with her as a prisoner." She thought back to Sacha's shoulder injury. "Then again, she does have a knack for getting herself shot at or attacked."

Nadia listens quietly. "I suppose that is true. However, you cannot tell me that the fighting is justified." Her eyebrows raise and she gestured towards him. "You try to kill each other over which side of the river is better. I cannot make sense of it." She leans back onto her palms after a moment and she nods to him. "Russian." She eyes him for his reaction. "I'm just staying here for a bit to get back on my feet." And maybe home? Nadia explains to him.

Marik shook his head. "Of course it is not justified, but it does not need to be. Being able to turn into an animal seems reason enough." He only nodded to her affirmation of her accent. "Far from home then?" His eyes narrowed at her last sentence. "Back on your feet? What occurred to get you off them then?" He considered the forest around them for a moment. "Perhaps I might have guessed an unfortunate situation from our surroundings. Had you any money I am sure the woods would not be your first choice of location."

Destin brightens and nods happily. "That's true! Sacha's very nice." He nods firmly. "She's a great leader. Don't you think? she's been leader for only around two years and I think she's so much better than any other leader before her! You know, we've been friends for about 5 years now! Wow, time flies doesn't it! she's a great person and an awesome leader. You're so right, if she hated me she'd kick me out!"

Hearing Destin praise Sacha so highly made Aya wonder about Fabine again, but she decided not to pry. "It sounds like you've been in this forest for a long time, Destin." she smiled. "How did you meet Sacha, anyway? She hardly seems the kind to converse with Broms, even one as sweet as you." She paused at her last sentence, surprised at the word which had slipped out. She quickly forced herself to think that the compliment was entirely normal and justified. After all, Destin was sweet. There was no denying it. Regardless, she hoped he didn't consider it too much.

Destin beams happily. "So glad you like them!" He bounces around in a circle. "Wait...IS that okay with Sacha do you think? Meeting me at the border? She is my friend, so she'd be fine with it hopefully.." He frowns worriedly. "Does she even talk to me still? *are* we even still friends anymore?"

Aya wasn't certain what Sacha would think, but she didn't want to see Destin sad again and it seemed that the smallest thing might set him crying again. "Of course she won't mind! You know how nice Sacha is." A confident tone and smile smoothed over any hesitation she felt. "Trust me, nobody would want to stop being friends with you. Besides, she let you stay didn't she?"
