Gunpowder and crossbows have existed for a long time, true, but by that logic steam engine technology is over 2000 years old. In the year 1000 crossbows weren't the norm on the battlefield, and gunpowder was only a thing in the far east.

Anyway, I'm not trying to get into a historical pissing match here over who knows more than who; I'm just saying that I'd like crossbows and such to be available.

Neither am I, and I'm sorry if it seemed like I was. I was just saying that those things were around and not around at that point.

Anyway, yes, I'll allow Plate and Crossbows, but under no circumstance is gunpowder allowed.

I don't really mind any technololy level. On the subject of magic. I think it's fine as long as it is not overly powerfull. One mage should not be able to lay waste to an entire city or kick the butt of giant armies on their own :)

I thought not. I'm wondering how magic would be incorporated. We could have a RWBY-like system, where magic comes from a particular substance, or maybe more along the lines of Demonata, where powerful magic is restricted to areas with a lot of magic already in the air. Or we could keep it traditional, with spells coming from the person themselves.

On technology: I'd prefer it to be pre-1300, which would give us platemail and crossbows, but exclude gunpowder.

Crossbows have been around since 420 AD, and gunpowder has been used since the Greek ages, supposedly. But there was definitely gunpowder by 1044 AD. Also, plate mail with no lamellar elements wasn't until about mid-1400's.
Just when I was thinking of joining, it dies...

Ok, I'm not going to lie - I have no idea how to start something like this off. I've never been the first poster. Can I get a little help?
Hello and welcome to "Age of Myth"

Nation Dump

On the subject of Magic, I'm still testing the water. What, if any, kind of Magic and magical boundaries would you like to see?

As for technology, my current limit is pre-1000 AD/CE, but I am open to other options
1. Until further notice, assume there is no magic in this world. I'll ask questions and get definitive results as soon as humanly possibly
2. Keep your civilization balanced. No-one likes having to compete with uber-strong, mega-cultured gods
3. Be reasonable. If your nation only has a couple of gold mines, gold will be unlikely to be a major export
4. Fantasy races are encouraged, but try and keep them roughly humanoid. That means two arms, two legs, a body and head. Wings are allowed, but long-term and high-altitude flight isn't.
5. Don't be a dick. Deliberately starting arguments, trying to claim territory that isn't yours, bullying others into doing as you wish - I've been through it before.
6. NPCs are available to everyone for any use, but ask for permission before using a Player-Controlled being you don't own.
7.Creatures you spawn belong to you - no-one else can say what they do without your consent. The same rule goes for nations - you are the only one who can influence your nation directly.
8. Don't be afraid to PM me with questions, requests and suggestions. I'd love to have feedback.

The Map

It's a 'Draw your own Borders' kind of map, and functions on a first come, first serve basis. However, keep your borders reasonable.

Some parts of the NS skeleton say "if applicable". If these are left empty, it will be assumed that you have no major influences on the given field i.e. an empty Wildlife field means you have no known Wildlife

Same-sex roommates only, and only paired with creatures that won't turn on them ie No cat and mouse pairings but a mouse and, say, a rabbit is acceptable
