Hello, Gelgarin.
Welcome to the guild. From your introduction it can be concluded that you can, indeed, write well enough for an advanced player, albeit there is more to be worked on. I hope you have a pleasant time exploring the wonders of the site. The majority of the users here are quite friendly and eager to help any new user out, thus do not be afraid to ask any questions, regardless of how foolish they may seem to you.
Personally, I can not think of much advice without having a specific question placed before me, but here are a few initials it is best to remember as a role-player:
IC - "In Character" - This is the section where the users write as the characters they are playing, in other words, where the story is written.
OOC - "Out of Character" - This is the section where users write freely, without the use of their characters. Friendly conversations on the topic of the role-play or on other topics are likely to occur.
Int.Che. - "Interest Check" - This is a thread, which is created by a user, in order to present their role-play idea and see if there are users interested in participating.
GM - "Game Master" - The owner/creator of the role-play.
I do not know if it applies to everyone on this site, but, in all my years of role-playing, character speech is locked in " ", in order to divide it from the rest of the text. I personally but it in
bold to make it stand out even further. A character's thoughts are locked in simple ' ' and are in
italics.
If you are looking for a role-play, I suggest you only check through the Interest Check sections, since it is not common for someone to post up a role-play without having created an Interest Check prior to that.
Hopefully, you will find this information useful in the days to come. If you wish to have a look at an Interest Check right now, here is a link to my own:
Word SyndromeI would not mind accepting you, so long as you present me with a proper character =3
