Nat kept going towards the wooded, at the same time the raided, part of town. He soon approached a building with lights coming through it's windows and after a closer inspection he saw that it was the inn. Nat stopped and gazed at the sign "The Golden Mug" for a few seconds. "The inkeep' must be really money-grubber if he keeps working during a raid". He smiled after the thought and probably would have continued his way however he heard somebody come out of a back alley and shout "Hey there, big boy. Turn around, I want to ask you some questions."

Nat slowly turned his head to peek behind him. He saw a woman, whose head was covered by a hood, holding a bow. She seemed to have an elvish stance, though Nat was unable to see anything else that was remarkable. Nat smiled to her, turned his head and looked at the inn again. "Hello, lass. You're not gonna get an answer from me, if you dip arrows in my precious body" he said and started going towards the inn "So you're not going to do that are you?". Before the woman could have reacted, he was already opening the door to the inn and entered it, then plumped in a free seat. Then again, there wasn't a single soul in the building except for the snoozing inkeeper. He seemed surprised by a sudden visitor and Nat just raised his hand and said "Two beers. My friend's coming in shortly."

I want to post again but I don't want everybody to get behind!! Lol

The same thing was with me, so I just made a "filler" story, did something random to tie up loose ends , lol.
Though given your circumstances there is not too much you can, I guess ^^
Nat swore loudly as he stumbled over a tree root and barely kept on his feet. He was starting to feel exhausted, even the water didn't help much. The good thing was, that he finally reached Damascus. The half-elf lost the wagon tracks some time ago, when Damascus' stone-brick-paved road started. The city, or a town, depends on what a person has seen in his life, did not have much of a wall or a gate. He stumbled upon several people that seemed like refugees, however no Fusos men and Nat was happy about that.
Nobody even noticed him for more than a few seconds, as he entered Damascus through a wooden arc, that was once their gate.

People seemed to be coming from the northern side of town, the one that had most woods around. Most of the smoke was there too. Most of them were a little hesitant to leave, thus Nat understood that they were just afraid not to get in the way, but it was not an actual raiding or looting party in the town. Thus, Nat came upon a conclusion that what was here, were Fusos' bounty hunters. And if they are burning houses and raiding houses to catch that certain someone, that man must be important.

Nat stopped a man who did not seem too confused and frightened. "What is going on?" he asked the man "Who is raiding this town?"
"Bugger off" the man pushed Nat aside and went on. The half-elf glanced at him, before continuing forward. He stopped upon seeing a woman and asked "Did a wagon come this way, if so, where is it?" the question seemed to shock the woman as she immediately started backing away "I know naught of wagons, ser.. Lord, I swear, nothing to do with no wagons." Nat understood its pointless to ask townsfolk about it, because they were scared of the Fusos army. He even resembled a soldier, with all his weaponry, no surprise that nobody trusted him. The woman was still backing off slowly. "Where is the nearest post office. Do you have one?" The woman stopped and gave a questioning look before answering "By the market, on the northern side."

Nat found his way to the market and soon the post office. It was obviously looked at this time of hour and concerning the events around, but the door had a hole for people to leave their mails at any time of day. The half-elf had no way of writing the letter, so he needed to get in and he knocked loud. Since nobody opened after he knock rapped twice more, Nat broke the door open with his shoulder. A candle was burning, but the only man he saw in there was sleeping. Even breaking the door didn't seem to wake him up from that chair. Nat went to and shook him.
"I need a letter sent. Fast. Now if it's possible"
The man obviously did not understand what's going on as he mumbled something than looked Nat in the eyes with distrust "How did you get in here, who are, I'll call the guards.. Throw your mail through the door-hole, we will... " Nat slapped him. "I need the mail sent now".
"Pay enough and it will travel at least 50 leagues in a day". the man stood up from the chair and gave a document full of names and addresses, then feather and ink. "Give me the letter, write the recipient's address in here." he started mumbling.
"Give me some paper. I need to write it first" Nat said to him and got a glance together with some paper. Nat wrote the letter fast.
"If your friend is still alive, he will find you. Someone saved the refugees, there weren't too many bodies it is possible for him to be there. If he was among those saved he will find you. Hope for the best. Thank you for telling about my mother. I appreciated your help. There's some money in the pillow.
The sellsword that agreed to help you."

"That's it?" the man working in this post office lifted an eyebrow "You woke me up to send a letter that short?"
"It's important. Seal it and get it to the location in no later than tomorrow night." Nat said as he was counting the correct amount of coins. He gave a few too many and said "These ones are for the door."

He then left the post office and strided to the northern side of town.

Hey, Jones Sparrow, could you possibly gather every link to every CS in this game and put it into your first post? Since the game just started I often forget people, especially if they change their avatars. So it is hard to read what they have written and I always have to find their CS. It would be appreciated by all of us I'm sure. :<

What I mean is, for example: Eruantien (Heinrich)
It was night, by the time Nat reached a crossroad. At least five other roads bumped into this single one, which was supposed to be the main road. The half elf grinned at the signpost, which showed the town of Damascus in the direction he was heading, or more likely, the wagon tracks were leading. Behind him the signpost showed Sap town. Other roads took you to a couple of villages that Nat heard of, however, couldn't remember visiting. Gazing forward he understood that, even though it's dark, he could see smoke rising.

"Damascus is being looted too. Interesting" he thought and continued onward. Not a hundred steps away he came across a barricade built from fallen trees and a couple of broken wagons. For a second, Nat was afraid that all his following was in vain and the wagon he was following was eventually caught and destroyed. That, luckily, turned out not to be the case as the tracks continued after the barricade. As soon as he got close to it, Nat heard running and soon found himself surrounded by three soldiers behind his back. A person's head emerged from behind the barricade.

"Hello, dear traveler. You are talking to the officer of the 103rd squad of Fusos' infantry. This barricade stops any movement into Damascus until the crisis in the city is solved. State your business in this road and we will consider letting you pass." the man briefly introduced himself and then gave a questioning look to Nat.
Nat looked behind himself and saw three archers ready to draw. "These are the people that started following me after Sap", Nat thought. As if they heard him, one of the archers shouted "We followed you and we want to know, why's a heavily armed traveler striding all night without rest."
"Thank you, soldier." the officer nodded in approval and turned his gaze on to Nat again. The half-elf thought on what to do for a moment and figured it was the best to tell the truth. Spiced with a little bit of lie.
"I'm travelling, because I can't find a safe place to take shelter. My plan was Sap, but it was destroyed, I quickly stumbled upon these tracks, figured they would take me to the nearest safe settlement. Thus, I'm following them.
"What of your weaponry? No common traveler can afford it."
"I'll be honest, I stole them. I'm a scavenger you see. Traveling to sell them."
The officer's face grinned with a smile before asking "Unless.. You pay me the road toll. Tell me, why should I let an outlaw into a city. Why not scavenge these same stolen items from your dead body for myself? "
Nat answered the man's smile with his. "Because you are no officer of Fusos. A mere highwayman. No officer is ever accompanied by three clumsy archers."
The man's smile disappeared and him seemed a little hesitant for a moment. Nat continued talking "Just let me through and there is a chance that all five of us will see the Sun tomorrow."

He heard the tensing of bowstrings and saw that the supposed officer was looking at the archers. Henry understood that he wasn't up for a negotiation, thus the half-elf quickly stooped and grabbed a piece of wooden wheel and threw it at archers. One of them was forced to dodge and the other two distracted. Nat took the opportunity, to run into the forest, around the barricade. He heard a thump, as an arrow hit a tree left to him and a few of them. He quickly emerged in front of the barricade, however, on the other side. The "officer" seemed unarmed and in simple vest and somewhat scared. Nat took out his own bow and told him "If you promise to order them to not to follow me and get out of here right now, I'll consider not dipping a few arrows in you."
The highwayman looked at Nat for a couple of seconds and slowly nodded. As the archers emerged from the forest, after going around barricade, Nat has already left. He was tired as hell after two days of no sleep, thus he wanted to reach Damascus as soon as possible and get some sleep, rather than keep his original promise that took him there.

Ah so does that mean their are no spots left or can a character without a gift be made? Also high lovely x3 *waves*

Yes, a character without a gift can very well be created. I have one of those.
After the sun was well past its zenith Nat had already left the Sap town far enough not to see it. However, his followers didn't leave him. Occasional cracks in the woods. Once, the half-elf could swear he heard a whisper. The wagon tracks were still quite deep too and Nat started seeing arrows stuck in the ground. every once in a while.
"Interesting. Arrows. So there was battle here. Or just a shoot-out. The pursuer's caught up, so the folk in the wagon fought back." Nat slowed down and plucked one arrow out of the ground. It was a well-made arrow, not the one you would find rusting in an old barn of a farmer.
"The wagon was not of that town. It belonged to someone else. Someone, who dares oppose Fusos. A rebel, one would call him." he thought inspecting the arrowhead.

He threw the arrow away and continued forward inspecting the wagon trail. Nat assumed that there were at most two archers, if they were bad or one if he was at least somewhat skilled, because of the density of arrows on the trail. Continuing onward he found a bloodstain, though no body. "They hit, but the body was moved. The pursuers' casualty." - he mumbled to himself.

Nat raised his head to look at the Sun. He understood there still was a lot of daylight, though he felt exhausted after the night's march. With a sigh he drank some water and continued following the trail, tired but now rather intrigued instead of being annoyed. He also needed to lose his pursuer's but couldn't think of a way yet.
Sun was already up for a few hours as Nat finally caught a smell of burned wood, the sign he was closing in on the so called Sap town. He stopped for a moment and took his drinking bottle from the belt. Taking a few gulps of water gave him a reason to look around, see if he was followed or watched. He had no doubt that if somebody raided that village or town, let alone Orcs, they wanted something more than the townsmen's crop stocks. Carefully attaching the bottle back to his belt, Nat walked to and sat down on a nearby rock. He needed to think of the best way to approach the town.

"Should I simply enter by road?" he asked himself, knowing this would be the least suspicious way. To anyone who might be watching, that is. Yet it would leave him too vulnerable and he was not sure if that's worth a risk.

Nat heard somebody trip, at least twenty steps from him away in the brushes. The brush then rustled a bit and the sound stopped. Definitely, I'm being watched. By such clumsiness, no one else but an Orc scout. he thought. Nat realized that suddenly becoming sneaky and approacing the town other than by the road would give perfect cause to attack him. With a sigh, he stood up and continued following the road. It soon led him to the ransacked town, half of which seemed burned or destroyed.
Why are there so few corpses? Sap was small, yet there seems to be too few of the dead. Nat thought while crossing the town. There seemed to be no survivors, or they have been hiding. When the half-elf finally reached the town's center, the main road seemed heavily trampled and had wagon's tracks that seemed somewhat recent. Could the inhabitants have fled the town? he thought. Crouching and touching the dirt, he understood that the the wagon was followed, as the dirt under its tracks wasn't as fresh as that of footsteps. At the very least, a squad of men must have marched through here. The wagon had its tracks coming from outside the town, yet they were deeper as it left Sap. That meant only one thing and Nat knew exactly what.

What sort of an idiot would dare to help the wounded that the Tyrant's army left? Nat spat on the road, he then looked around and took his drinking bottle once more. After swallowing some water, he had no doubt that he was watched right now. He needed to leave Sap and do that swiftly, otherwise somebody will come out and question him. Nat started following the tracks of wagon and its pursuers without looking around too much, so it would seem to an observer that he was continuing the journey as planned.
The only place where that woman's husband might be is the place that wagon went. the half-elf thought. "I hate it that I always keep up to my promises." Nat mumbled to himself while going, occasionally hearing cracks of branches in the forests surrounding the road.
"Nat?" he heard someone ask the innkeeper. "Aye, a traveler by that name rented a room here. Look around."
Without any intent to look who was inquiring on him, the half-elf took a sip of ale. As a mercenary, his name was somewhat known, though it was rare for somebody to look exactly for him, not for any sellsword traveling around these parts. As Nat was taking second sip of his ale, a woman came by his table and asked "Are you Nat?"
Slowly placing the ale mug on table, he raised his eyes to look the woman in the face. She seemed worried and tired. Dark-haired. With a dirty face and roughed hair. Nat then looked at her ears. Not an elf a thought crossed his mind. A young human. She can't help me.

"I could be." he answered and the answer seemed to have brought much hope into the worried face of her. She plumped on a free seat on the other side of the table.
"I need help. I heard you might be here. Sap was raided by Orcs this night. It is merely a days road away.. My..friend.. He was a lumber in that city..C-could still be there.. I.." she stopped talking, because Nat lifted his hand, then took a sip of ale with another.
"What is this friend of yours to me?" the womans eyes suddenly lost all the hope they gained previously, and were filled with desperation.
"No.. Please. Listen. I-I'm not asking much, just check it. I'll give you everything I can, please." she continued desperately, with tears gathering in her eyes as she talked.
"I don't take on suicidal missions for any treasures. If I was still an officer of the Sword Sons I might, if you payed well. Sap is full of Orcs by now. I could check it, aye, might be I could even get out of there alive and journey here to tell you about it. But more likely, by tomorrow, same time, I would by lying by some road post, feeding the crows and earth worms. Not my plan."

The woman lowered her gaze into the table and started sobbing. As much as Nat felt pity for her, he couldn't risk his life for such a foolish quest for young love. If the man stayed alive he will find her. If not, its best she never saw him either.
"P-please.. We were supposed to marry next month.. Please.. I'll sleep with you..I'll do anything pl-lease..."
"Ooh, a tempting offer" Nat feigned like he was considering "No." He said and finished his ale with a gulp, then continued "Unless you can tell me of Caeves, my mother, I will not do it. And you can't tell anything, no doubt." Nat started standing up "I'll be in my room upsta.."
"Caeves? The elven priest?" The woman rubbed her eyes and snorted her nose. Nat halted. Then he looked at the woman and plumped back into the seat.
"Now, you got my attention. Tell me everything."

Until the midnight Nat kept asking the woman everything she knew about this Caeves. Nat heard more useful information that evening, than he had in the last year or so. Everything this black-haired woman said was intriguingly similar to his mother. After the woman couldn't tell him anything else Nat sat for a few heartbeats thinking.
"You paid me more than, you can imagine. I will go to Sap. Right now, in fact. If i don't send you a message or something else in three days, consider me dead, your husband too. My room is rented for 4 more days, stay there for all of that time."
Nat jumped on his legs, checked if his sword and bow are holding tight and strided of the inn.

So, my mother feigned she was a priest at a small village, the home of that woman, then she suddenly vanished. I need to repay my debt for the information. And then I'll check that town. - he thought while leaving the Inn and this town, he reached last night, behind.
