I do believe this is the first time we've had more pagers for the IC than the OOC.
Enrique-The Outskirts of Baton Rouge-The Pack The Pack had arrived just outside the city. For some time they had argued about the plan for going into the city, Berkley wanted to rush in with the vehicles and drive around looking for a garage or place to store them. While it had a chance of working there was too much that could go wrong, if they ran out of fuel before then, or if they got ambushed the vehicles would be lost. Colton had suggested that they leave the vehicles outside the city, somewhere the Pack would know to recover them. They would take all the ammunition and weaponry, and whatever food that they could carry and stash the remainders in a hole in the ground under the cars. After some discussion they decided that leaving the cars would be best. Enrique ordered some of the Pack to begin cutting down trees and branches to lay over the cars. They dug holes and wrapped the excess weapons in tarps then set them in the holes and light covered them. They drove the cars over them and removed essential parts from the engines. "Cant risk anyone getting the vehicles," Enrique said checking the AK-47 in his hands, he had snagged a spare magazine that was completely full. He had all the Pack stock up on ammo and take cans of food and some water in whatever backpack or duffel they had. Enrique made sure they wrapped everything in cloth so that it didnt rumble or make too much noise when they moved. He did the same with his duffel and put his arms through the straps and secured it on his back. Earlier when looking through the Pack's arsenal he found a 2 shot Derringer with a cute pink grip, he figured it would be perfect for Emma. And even so it'd be a good gag. He walked over to her and grabbed her hand holding it out, he dropped the gun in it. "Be careful with that one, its Berkley's favorite." Enrique said with a chuckle, he turned towards the pack and stood in the truck bed. "Listen up, we're gonna move in teams of 4, if you see something you dont do anything about it, you return to the main group and we hit it full force. We are gonna stay in sight of one another, when a team goes in a building to clear it one team will stay outside. We stick together. I want us to search for everything, anything we can use. Dont waste ammo unless you know you can hit something worth hitting. Emma and Colton are gonna be with me the whole time, Trey you too. Berkley you can select your own people, same goes for you Dirk. I want us moving quickly and carefully once we are in the city limits, check residential and stores and anything you think might have stuff in it." Enrique hopped off the truck and the Pack made their way into the city, after several hours scavenging the city they found themselves at a small convenience store. It had boarded up windows and shelves inside. The Pack made it their home for the night, they scavenged a few bags of chips but nothing too great. They found a way up to the roof through the storage area and had Colton and another member of the Pack post up on the roof with a rifle and a box of ammo. Enrique and the rest set to blocking the doors and windows more with the shelves and anything they could find. Enrique and a few of the boys started tearing off the glass casings on the freezer windows, they bent the frames and snapped the metal off. They made makeshift pikes out of them and used them on occasion to poke the corpses outside through the gaps in the boards. Enrique sat against a wall in the corner with his rifle in his hands and leaned his head back against the wall, exhausted. He pulled out the pack of cigarettes from his pocket and lit on and took a drag off of it, never hurt to have a smoke before bed. He exhaled the smoke through his nose and felt relaxed.
Enrique-The Road to Baton Rouge-The Pack Enrique was sitting in the front of the Yukon, with Colton in the drivers seat. Enrique was twirling a knife between his fingers waiting for Emma to come out. He looked over to Berkley who was hanging out the back of the truck and shouted at him. "Go tell her to get her ass out here now," Enrique said as Berkley hopped out of the truck bed and went into the house. Enrique didnt like waiting on people, especially when he was in a hurry. He had a bad feeling, like an oncoming storm was about to crash down on the pack. He tossed the knife on the dash and watched as Emma and Berkley exited the building. He had hopes that no idiot left anything distinguishable behind, he had thought about burning the house down but that'd waste fuel and it'd be burning for close to a day. He watched as Emma walked up to the vehicle, he nodded at her and then looked towards Berkley who closed the truck bed behind himself. "Alright, lets get rolling Colton, we're heading straight to Baton Rouge." Enrique said pointing forward, the Yukon lurched forward and drove off down the road with the truck close behind it. "Gotta love the lack of traffic."
Enrique-The B&B/Gas Station-Emma "Everyone load the fuck up, we're moving out tonight. I'm gonna walk down to the gas station and get those damn kids. Trey, clean this place from head to toe. No traces of us get left behind. If someone took a shit outside I want it buried, understood?" Enrique was in a rush, he wanted to get moving by nightfall. Something just felt difficult, like if they stayed longer it'd be harder to leave. He ordered a few scouts to go grab the cars and then bring em back and load everyone's stuff up. He grabbed an assault rifle and a backpack with some food and ammo in it, you could never know if you'd be separated from your group or not. He made his way to the gas station with the rifle on his back, he kept his axe in hand for the few straggling corpses around. He made it to the station and drew his rifle, he didnt know if the kids were still alive or not. He walked up to the station cautiously. "Emma?! Colton?!" Enrique shouted standing near the gas station.
Enrique-The B&B-Emma/Colton Enrique watched as the girl took what would have appeared to be her first shot of whiskey. When she spit it out Enrique fell into uproarious laughter. He clutched his sides as Colton grabbed the cup from the girl. "No, what that is is a waste of good whiskey." Colton said picking up the glass and dumping it into his mouth, Enrique watched for his reaction. The teen had never taken a full shot before, just gingerly sipped them. Colton shook his head violently and let out a parched sounding cough. Enrique leaned over to him and patted him on the shoulder. "Relax Kiddo, you'll beat me in drinking one day." Enrique said with a smile, "Now I mean it when I say the two of you need to go spar, neither go easy on the other just don't go breaking any bones. We dont need to waste medical supplies because of you two getting carried away."
Enrique-The B&B-Emma and Colton Enrique smiled widely and pull La Pistola up and set it on the table, he saw Colton walk in behind the girl carrying a bottle. Ever the theatrical one he had most likely been waiting behind the door to hear the conversation and be seemingly an ominous figure. The boy set the bottle on the table and grabbed some glasses from the kitchen counter. They were a bit dingy but still clean enough to drink out of. Enrique grabbed the bottle and unscrewed the top after reading the lable aloud, Wild Turkey Whiskey. Enrique smiled and poured a glass for each of them, he picked his up and toasted in Spanish. "A la próxima generación" He said with a smile and downed his glass, he looked to the two of them and smirked, "So Colton as you no doubt know Emma has decided to join the Pack. I want you to teach her close quarters combat, and give her some training with a bow when you get the chance. If she turns out to be light on her feet she will need to be our stealth, and that bow we have in the truck is gonna work for that." "Yes sir," Colton said he looked at the girl and decided to introduce himself, "I'm Colton, Enrique's been training me since my early days in Outpost. I'm one of the better rifleman here." While Enrique poured himself another glass Colton gingerly drank his. "So, we'll be here for a little while. Its a little before noon, you two are gonna go out and practice after we're done talking here. First thing tomorrow we are setting out for Baton Rouge, its about 4 hours drive. I'm gonna be resting up in the back of the Yukon, Colton you can drive for a bit then let Emma drive and you can handle the directions." Enrique looked towards Emma, "I know you and Berkley got bad blood so I'm gonna keep you away from his as best I can, the mans a fucker but he's one of us and he's a fine killer. I made him the same promise I made you so I wont be killing him and neither will you. We clear on that?"
Enrique-The B&B-Emma Enrique listened and felt sorry for the girl a bit, he didnt like that the kid had been through so much but he knew that was what happened in these days. No one was safe. And when she mentioned Haywood, Enrique visibly grimaced. He remembered very well what he did at Haywood, the scouts he cut down in Thomas's name. Only to find out the mans name was Tyler, that he had been mislead that entire time. That he was in a life debt to the same viscous bastard he had signed on to kill when he first met him. Enrique let the memories flow forth and spoke to the girl in a heartfelt manor. "Listen, I know Tyler killed a lot of people. I had a part in some of the people he killed, I believed he was a good man. He told me his name was Thomas, and that he had lost his daughter. After he saved my life alongside a man named Bex I followed him and made sure he stayed safe, had I known who or what he was I would have buried my axe in his skull. But I didnt know, and I helped him to find his daughter. After that day at Haywood I found out who he was, and he disappeared. And in the world we live in there's practically no way to find a man once he's gone. So I was taken in at Outpost, and they trusted me there. I led their troops and eventually suspiciouns arose about things I did in the past, I will not lie I killed people while there. So that Thomas, Bex, and I could be safer. I didnt know who Tyler was at this point. I went to my cabin one night and that was the night I lost Amanda, I was so sure they would come in and try to take us that I didnt bother to think they'd burn down the cabin. Sylar burned the cabin down and I heard her screams after I was pulled out, that night I lost a piece of me that I didnt think I would ever lose. But once she was taken from me I was mad. In a blood lust. Sylar was the man who I killed at that cabin, I got my vengeance for her. I apologize you lost your brother, that you have to endure what our world is, and if ever you find Tyler you will know the pleasure of taking vengeance on a man, watching him die in front of you." Enrique had trailed off and wasnt looking at Emma anymore but instead looking through her, he recalled killed Sylar. Every second of it, anyone who had ever said killing a man wasnt the sweetest thing in life was a liar. It was, they were just too cowardly to say it. "I do not mean to frighten you, but to kill a man who killed a loved one is sweeter than the greatest victory." Enrique said focusing and looking into her eyes. He had leaned forward in his chair and was looking at her intensely, "I want you to be the next generation of the Pack, you can bring in whoever you want along the way. Provided we have food for them. We need pups in order to continue, a bunch of old dogs cant go on forever. We can train you better than anyone you've ever met. I trained each of these men and I guarantee any one of them is capable of killing 50 walkers before they fall. Let us train you so that you can be the generation that keeps going, and in return I'll let you be the leader of the Pack after we die. We have simple rules, dont kill your brethren, fight for them, and make sure if anyone ever threatens you or us that they meet the worst end possible. If you do all that we'll do the same for you." Enrique sat back in his chair and looked the girl over measuring any subtle movement for a response.
Enrique-The B&B-Emma Enrique watched as Emma walked in and set the pistol on the table. Enrique took it and smiled holding it in his hands. It was his priced piece. "Take a seat, I want to talk to you." Enrique said gesturing to the seat across from him, "What exactly do you think I've done in this apocalypse? Do you think I enjoy killing, that I stomp on puppies for enjoyment? I'm the bad guy to you am I not?" Enrique said this all in a tone reminiscent of a parent whos teenage kid was angry at them for something they did. He had his legs so that his ankle rested on his knee and he had a gap between his legs. La Pistola sat on his lap while the shotgun was in his right hand.
Enrique-The B&B-Emma Enrique smiled when the girl hit the targets after she was laughed at. It meant she fed her skill with anger, and in the world they lived in that was gonna be necessary. When she had finished firing he walked up to her and took the pistol from her hand. He smiled when she questioned why he bothered to train her, to trust her with a gun and such. "Well since you didnt turn around and try and shoot any of us I know you have common sense, while you may not like us we arent bad people. Sylar killed my woman, so I killed him. Tyler tricked me into killing for him, so if I find him I kill him. The Pack here is more about vengeance, a balance between our animistic side and the humanity that drives us to continue. I'm bothering to train you because you're a part of the next generation, the people that have to live through this world." Enrique gestured to the men behind her and the house, "Me and mine?" He said rhetorically, "We adapted, and you and yours are gonna be living through this world. I figure if y'all are trained you'll last. Besides, The Pack needs pups in order for us to continue." Enrique ejected the empty magazine and reloaded it. He aimed his pistol down range and selected a can to the left of the stump, he squeezed the trigger. A metalic pang came from the can and he selected a new target, a bottle resting against the stump, he shot again, it shattered. He selected a new can to the right of the stump and shot twice, one skimming the top of the can and the other landing dead center. He went back to the original can and shot it again, he found a bottle on the stump and shot it. The last shot struck a can far to the right of the stump. He ejected the magazine and handed them to the girl, then the gun. "Tell Berkley to fill those up for you, I expect you'll want some more training with that gun." Enrique said taking a knee next to the girl, "I'm not trying to be a bad guy, I only ever wanted to keep my people alive. The people I've killed have only been in interest of keeping my friends and family alive. That's what our Pack is, if one of us is in danger we all fight to keep them safe. If you want in you're welcome to it, once you get La Pistola filled up come find me." Enrique stood and patted the girl on the shoulder as he walked off, he made his way to the front of the B&B where they had everything from the trucks stashed, keys, fuel, food, ammo, and guns. He picked up a shotgun, rather light and relatively compact in his hands and loaded it. He walked into the kitchen and set it down waiting for Emma to come in. He began carving away at the table, making a little mural of a Dia De Dos Muertos skull towards the center of the table.
Enrique-TheB&B-Emma "I have some bottles and cans set up around and on that stump down there, I want you to shoot at them. Hit as many as you can, way I recall being taught to shoot that pistol was the same way except my father had the advantage of several spare magazines. You have one, each magazine holds seven bullets. The pistol will kick back since its .45 so dont lock your elbow or you'll fuck it up pretty badly. I assume by how long you've lived in this world you've got some experience with a gun. So you know to aim away from yourself. After we pop off a few shots we'll move on to close quarters, you'll be training with Colton, he's the closest to your age and will likely go the easiest on you." Enrique walked over to the girl and as he spoke ejected the clip and checked the chamber, she had already chambered the first round. He smirked and handed it back to her with a spare clip in his hand he stood slightly behind her and to her left, away from her assumed dominant hand so that if she tried to turn back and shoot him he could easily disarm her. "Be gentle with the trigger, that gun belonged to my father." He said coldly, he recalled his father well but didnt bother to go into detail, he said the same thing his father said to him when he was little, "Empieza!"
