Bio

I'm Henwen, dayshift desk-jockey and excel wizard.

I'm not a big fan of the Now, but i love all things Past and Future to rp in. Fantasy, Sci-Fi, Steampunk, Noir and DnD-esk are what I'm here for. I thrive with worldbuilding and plotting character drama with angst alamode. I'm crafty too so expect arts of your characters and stuff because i show my love with doodles.

As far as myself personally, i am a 30 yo female from KS. The rest you'll have to get to know from me personally.

Name: Angus 'Gus' Sorley
Gender: Male
Age: 35
Appearance: Short, a touch scrawny, brown/red hair, freckled, hazel eyes. Think Fitz from Shield, only more scrappy.
Nationality: Scottish
Occupation: Doctor / Biologist
Personality: Enthusiastic and highly intelligent, Gus can be a touch scatterbrained. Friendly and charismatic, his lack of height and pleasant demeanor has a tendency to make him seem like a pushover, but he can be as stubborn and as willful as they come. He has an honest streak a mile wide, although that does not mean he cannot lie- when given a pressing enough reason, Gus tends to lie by omission or misdirection, and lets others assume what they will. He is also prone to manic-depressive episodes, which he lied about in his personality profile. He has his condition under control for the most part- although he can be prone to relapse under extreme stress.

Backstory: Angus Sorley was a highly intelligent and energetic adolescent, and in the small town of Peebles that he grew up in, did not make for a well spent youth. He was considered overly rambunctious and the worst kind of troublemaker. He was terribly under-stimulated, and in the face of unrelenting boredom he would do just about anything just because he could. Because he needed to, because there was nothing else to do.
His father was a military man and rarely home, his mother also worked near full time at the hospital so it was left to his older brother Morven to try and curb his reckless hoodlum of a brother. Morven knew Gus was smart, and was wasting away his potential in their small town, but despite his good grades school couldn't seem to hold his attention despite how much he tried to get him to focus and study. It all came to a head on day when one of his' ill thought out stunts got Morven killed- it was an accident, and no one was at fault. Other than the fact that if Gus had not be getting into trouble Morven would never have been out in the first place.
Morven's death left a big gap in Gus' life, and rather than fall back on bad habits he finally buckled down and got his life together. He managed to score a scholarship to the University of Aberdeen, where he focused on going into medical science- like his mother, but soon found his attention captured by the Biology Sciences as well and although difficult he thrived at splitting his attention between the two schools of thought. It was also during his time at the University that his manic-depressive disorder became its most apparent, drawing the attention of the teaching staff, and his mentor Professor Dylan Decker, and Gus was forced to get help or otherwise lose his scholarship.
In the City of Aberdeen, Angus finally found stimulation enough for him to thrive, and relearned how exciting life can be. He was very charismatic, and no stranger to the ladies, and he discovered his passion for the sciences- his enthusiasm for life and everything in it. The opportunity to go to space was the opportunity of a lifetime. He volunteered, because what could possibly be more exciting or stimulating than venturing into the absolute unknown- with the possibility of new life at every turn.

Likes: Female attention, talking, science, healing, occasionally blowing things up and playing with chemicals.
Dislikes: Having nothing to do, waiting, people who dismiss/ignore him.
Fears: Not being good enough, personal failure and/or being a burden.
Theme Song: The Great Vacation - Dirt Poor Robins
@Cuddle Pot I think I'm going to have to go with Doctor, I've not had the best trackrecord as a captain and would like to avoid having to wrangle these folks in such a disaster situation, even as much as i love Firefly and Star Trek (Kathrin Janeway ftw!). I'd much rather the supporting role and Patching up these folks will be a job and a half i'm sure. I'll try to make it fun.

And yeah, its an inadvertant Black Cauldrin reference but the name kinda evolved on its own into what it is now.
Bummer but you do what you can. I will do my best to keep this going good Escha!
Hi everyone!

I'm kinda new so I hope nobody minds me hopping in unannounced like this. But this game sounds super cool and I would love to get in on this action. Is it too late for me to make a character? And if not what kind of characters do you need to flesh out the crew? I'd like to make somebody with an important role to fill and not double up an existing position if thats alright. I could do a pilot, merc, science officer or whatever you need, maybe a doctor?
@User lol criptic much?

@Malkin Dude where are you? I can post first if it's easier, but i just wanna know if this game's still go?

@Eschatologist if Malkin's dropping us I'm totally going to steal you away for myself. I am still super excited about this game and I dont want to let it die just yet. I want to rp this!
I'll be able to post something tomorrow night, so if Malkin wants to go first that's a-okay with me.
Also i may have gotten a new person interested! Hopefully they'll contact you soon Escha, and we can add to the maddness here.
Can't wait to see how this goes.
I am totally down with cyber-rebles against the Man! I'll jump on this banwagon!
Veslemoy waited patiently for the door to be answered... but as the few moments stretched into a few minutes she began to consider knocking again. She kicked the door a bit harder- perhaps a bit more than was necessary but who would blame her. The sun was hot on her back, the sweat trickling down her shoulders made her neck itch- and the stag wasn't getting any lighter as time rolled on.

Again she waited, and again still nothing. She shifted her weight and jostled her burden, the deers lolling head thudding against her as the dead weight it was, and she was beginning to regret not leaving it with the Tanner- she could have, but she had no money to pay for his 'holding' fee, reasonably priced or no.

The door shuddered with the next blow of her muddy boot. She glared, now quite thoroughly peeved as the solidly built door seemed to mock her with its immobility, its unvarnished grain and plain door handle quite uncaring to her predicament.

Finally, after swatting a third fly away from her face, her fraying patience gave out and with a final glare she took a deep breath bringing air to the very bottom of her lungs...

"'LO THE HOUSE OF THE SILVER DAGGERS!" She bellowed fit to rattle the rafters, the sound of people approaching belatedly reaching her ears, "OPEN THE DAMNED DOOR! You ruddy bastards..."
I can post now! I'm just a bit amused at how long my gal's been left standing on the doorstoop. No worries, I can work with it, and it should make for a fun post.
