Waking up early enough permitted Jay to run to school. After eating a small breakfast of leftover venison, he grabbed his backpack and took up a moderate pace along the side of the road. He lived just outside the city, close enough to get to school within the hour, but far enough to be able to escape the commotion and night-sky-drowning light that had left many without a clear view of the night sky. How any one was able to live their life without seeing even Orion baffled him. The stars were sometimes his only escape; that being said he took classes focused mainly on astronomy. Physics, Calculus, and just plain Astronomy were among said courses. Dwelling on it, Jay realized that he'd been so busy with other things he forgot to do his Physics homework. Cursing himself, he paused for a minute to check his bag for anything else he may have forgotten, coming up with nothing. He sighed before continuing his run, making better time than usual. He was going to make it a good day, no matter what.
After a short while he arrived at a small building, not much bigger than a grocery store. PS 104 was definetly not the most physically appealing school, but it served as a fantastic learning enviornment, without the distraction of those unwilling to learn that plagued many high schools. As it was, PS 104 was a place where people such as that were not welcome at all- only those with an open mind were allowed behind the doors of the main hall.
A bus had just arrived. Some people stepped off, of which there were few. One wolf, Aimee, had known him since they were younger. Their families were friends, and as such the two youngsters often engaged in such games as "Catch the Tail" or "I Spy". He motioned for her to join him in his usual spot, someone's stoop. The stoop sat across from the bus stop, and was about a block from the school.
