I'm having way too much fun with my Legend of Zelda Encylopedia. This is the game that got me into roleplaying so have a lot invested in it's lore and stories. Too bad can't have all the games too.

Location: Angel City - November 26, Thursday
Event: Pre-Thanksgiving Day Parade

A month had passed already since the new warriors had met their fellow fighters. Cooler days had settled in as Fall was giving away to winter, but the city was more energized than ever as it prepared for an event people from all over looked forward to every year, the Thanksgiving Day Parade. If there was one thing the people of Angel City were full of, it was hope and thankfulness for everything they had been given.

In many cities, Thanksgiving was mostly just a day to get together with friends and family and to have a feast, but in Angel City it was quite the serious holiday. Halloween was fun but mostly reserved just for the little kids, Thanksgiving was the other holiday, besides Christmas, that really got the town into a flurry of activity. Models of the Mayflower were on display in shop windows, decorative turkeys, Pilgrims and Indians, and wreaths of fall leaves and large cornucopias were set on people's porches and front doors. The miraculous story of the Pilgrims was deeply ingrained in the culture of the town.

While the world could enjoy watching the Macy's Thanksgiving Parade, Angel City put on its own parade every year without fail. Floats, balloons, bands, and local schools were all encouraged to be part of the parade even though the students were on Thanksgiving Vacation. Seraphim High always made sure to encourage as many of its clubs as possible to participate in the festivities in one way or the other. Some clubs joined the parade such as the band club, others set up their own stands along the parade route to make some cash, while others created decorations or even volunteered to help with clean up. Thanksgiving was truly a time for the entire city to come together as one, even for just a few hours. The city was also proud to host Thanksgiving dinners for anyway who needed, not a soul could go hungry at Thanksgiving time in Angel City unless they chose not to participate.

The streets for the parade were already being cleared and blocked off for the parade in the afternoon. Stores and businesses closed down but the streets were busy as everyone hustled around to secure good viewing spots and to help make this year's Thanksgiving just as special as the last. Already quite a few people were dressed up like Settlers and Native Americans as they got into the Thanksgiving spirit.

The parade would happen in the afternoon and in the evening, everyone in the city would join up in various locations for the Thanksgiving Feast. It really was a sight quite different from anywhere else in the States.
@The Irish TreeRodias literally sent a naughty child back into Flan's kitchen. How could you be so CRUEL! This is the thanks she gets after working so hard in the kitchen! That mimic was behaving fine with the toast at the beginning but now she's on a feeding frenzy!

Flan:...Guess it's time my Butter Knife of Meat Cleaving got some use. Fufufu.

The moments she waited for Master Rodias to take his first bite were some of the longest she had ever felt in her life, her skills were being put to the ultimate test, kind of. Anticipation and dread welled up in her jelly as she pulled a bit tightly on her hair tendril with her twirled finger. All her eyes watched as the Sable Lord took the first bite.

The first knife cut, the first plucked meat cube, the first bite. As soon as his lips descended on the succulent morsel his cape suddenly flared up as if a flock of bats had been disturbed and his head became downcast. Flan started to panic and her entire body stiffened in response. Had she messed up with the balance of spices? Had that bit of lime been a bit too much? Maybe her cooking time had been off and part of the meat had been under or over cooked? There were so many little things that could reduce the quality of a cut of meat and she tried desperately to think of what little thing had ruined her creation.

Before she could descend any further into self-inflicted horror, Rodias started to absolutely devour the meat dish. Her mind already set on a rather destructive path she was absolutely agast when he went into turbo mode. Did he hate it so much that he had to completely speed through his meal to avoid tasting the mutton? Flan's hands flew up to her cheeks in fear and all she could do was stare in shock as her master daintily wiped off whatever remained of her creation from his handsome features, a look of pure grace and elegance despite having just devoured her terrible food.

Flan gulped as Master Rodias rose to look her straight in the eyes, Flan wanted to collapse into a puddle and slink away but there was no way she could be rude to her master. Still what could she had done that could have possibly messed up her dish? Frankly there was absolutely nothing that should have messed it up. If she found out that Master Rodias didn't appreciate her hard work because of something outside of her control...frankly she wasn't sure she would be able to forgive him. Before her thoughts could turn more dark however, Master Rodias next words put everything in the Universe in their correct places.

"Flan, that was...wonderful. No...I should be honest. That may be the single best thing I've ever eaten in my life. And, thank you for indulging me." Instantly all the dark thoughts swirling in Flan's mind were washed away in Master Rodia's astounding praise. Flan quickly latched onto the praise and started to squirm around in embarrassment, her cheeks flushed a darker color in as she drank in his praise.

"Oh please Master Rodias it was no trouble, no trouble at all. It is my utmost pleasure to indulge your every whim, please don't hesitate to call upon my services at any time, anywhere! Fufufu." Flan's eyes closed in happiness as she started to giggle a little, though her other eyes sparkled in gratitude. Flan had to turn around for a moment to gain control over herself before turning back to the Sable Master and tried to look as prim and proper as she could but still had a bit of a grin on her face.

While she was over the moon she was also able to remember something most urgent that she needed to discuss with the Sable Master. She interlaced her fingers together and looked down a bit so she wasn't looking up at his face, though her eyes glanced up at his from time to time, like an innocent young girl asking for a favor in a bashful way. "Master Rodias, while I will do my utmost to provide my best service for you and the Chateau, umm there is something very important I want to ask. I know it is probably not a top priority for you right now considering our situation but..."

As Flan trailed off she started to fidget a bit and her hair started to curl around in strange patterns as she tried to think of how best to ask the Sable Lord of her predicament. She started to play around with her maid outfit's apron and her eyes started to dart around a bit as if unsure of what to do.

"While I am sure we will be fine food wise after we've explored a bit...I'm really worried about our spice supplies. I'm sure I can stretch it out for a bit if I start to shirk on spices but if we don't find some new supplies soon the quality of our dishes is sure to plummet. I want to be able to provide everyone with quality meals so we can keep up morale while we find ourselves in this strange land!" Flan was sure to bring up the point of morale, but of course the real reason she wanted a new spice supply was so she could keep the compliments flowing her direction, which was something she absolutely craved. She was afraid if she was forced to scimp on seasoning that the Chateau wouldn't appreciate her as much and her stock in the guild would plummet, this was something she absolutely needed to avoid.

"Well, please just keep that in mind, I wish to be able to serve you to my utmost abilities at all times! In the meantime please don't hesitate to call upon my services any time you have a craving!" Flan clasped her hands together and looked up with her pure, yellow eyes as large and shiny as two full moons.

"Is there anything else I can do for you Master Rodias?"
@Saltwater Thief

That's fine. Next post will be a brief time skip and anyone is free to wrap up this little scene as they wish before they jump to the next.
In my family we open the presents on Christmas Eve and then mostly just have family time on Christmas day, though this year did a lot of that on the 24th too. But ya, the 24th and 25th often just kinda get mashed together in a sense. Eh its America so each family has their own traditions to follow. Personally opening the presents on Christmas Eve just seems a bit more magical.

Much to Flan's delight quite a few of the chapter keepers and company found their way over to her. Gromgard was always a courteous fellow as he took one of her cookies for himself. There were times when she also fed the goblins but as they had...underdeveloped taste buds it was rather easy to cook to their tastes. She didn't mind them at all of course but they weren't the best at compliments. As for Gromgard himself, he was pleasant enough to serve and could easily enjoy his company.

That little stink, Zouyu had managed to take off with six of her cookies, but thankfully she had overstocked her tray so there was enough left for those who wanted them. As the gardener he was quite vital to keeping her stores in stock and so she made sure to keep on good terms with him. He was a bit hard to actually serve though, always bouncing around and never keeping still she could find him exasperating at times.

Kath was a bit of a recluse and a sweetheart. As someone who would visit all chapter keepers on occassion, except those who had no need for food like the doll Salem, Flan actually probably saw the dragonoid more often than many of the other residents. Because of her personality however, it could be hard to get the compliments and praise that Flan craved from the others.

Another taker of her sweets was the head maid Mamoru, who gleefully accepted her contributions and told her how 'sweet' she was. Flan couldn't help but melt and blush a bit at the compliment but unfortunately that was the end to said compliments as work took priority. Flan could almost always count on getting a power boost from her superior as she was not at all ashamed at lavishing her with praise. Flan quite enjoyed all the attention and how much the head maid seemed to enjoy her creations.

The void monster, Light, also had decided to stick around to devour anything that was left over. Light was one of the more unusual members of the Chateau. constantly hungry it was possible to serve Light at any time which was kind of nice, but that also meant Light could never truly be satisfied by her meals. Light was also a hazard to be around, thankfully for Flan, with her high natural resistances and status effect resistance ring she could withstand her void abilities and insanity for a short while with no ill-effects, still prolonged exposure was bad but it was easy enough to ooze her way out of any unsanctioned hugs from her. Needless to say Light actually made quite a good guinea pig for new recipes that she wasn't confident in yet.

Ashara was one who also decided to take her up on her offer of refreshments. Ashara was frankly just a joy to watch when she served her. Every swish of her tail and curve of her lips betrayed her absolute delight when she was enjoying one of her dishes. Compliments poured out from her lips and the way she reacted with every bite was downright adorable. Flan always had great fun watching her reactions to every delicious dish she prepared.

"Oh, and Miss Flan. Could I perhaps bring one of these cookies along on our trip?" Ashara asked Flan, who like any excellent chef had the equipment for take out if needed.

"Of course Lady Ashara. I have just the thing for your trip." taking one of the tea cookies, she wrapped it up in a delightful little handkerchief. The handkerchief was a light lavender with exquisite white trim, a lady's handkerchief to be sure. Actually Flan had special handkerchiefs for each chapter keeper as her own personal touch when serving them. The handkerchiefs were reusable so when a chapter keeper was done with theirs for the time being, they could deposit it in a special basket she had set up near the kitchen entrance. The handkerchief would then be washed and could be used again for the next snack they would enjoy.

"Please do enjoy Lady Ashara and have a safe trip." With a bow she handed over the handkerchief with the cookie inside.

Soon enough everyone had to leave for their various duties. Flan deposited the few left overs with the bottomless pit, Light, and then returned to her domain the kitchen.

@The Irish Tree
After finishing the last of the dinners for the night, and cleaning up the kitchen, Flan decided to retire for the night. Flan took off her uniform, hanging it up on a peg near the back of the kitchen and slithered over to her bed, a large wooden tub. Flan slipped her way into the tub and settled down into a large puddle of purple goo. As a slime, how she relaxed was to completely let herself go, losing control of her body she conformed herself to the shape of the tub. If one were to look into the tub, it would appear to be full of purple jello with yellow orbs and a ring floating around in it, her status resistance ring which she never took off.

She had been sleeping in the tub for a little while when she was roused from her sleep by the pleasant sound of Master Rodias, "Flan? I hate to ask at this late hour, but could you please prepare something for me to eat?"

Flan accidentally blew a bubble which popped out of her body as she quickly tried to rouse herself which was a rather embarrassing thing to do but thankfully she was far enough in the back she doubted he noticed. She kind of flopped out of the tub as she tried to wake herself and clumsily created tendrils to reach for her maid uniform. "Of course Master Rodias...just give me a moment to prepare."

Flan managed to grab the maid uniform, which promptly fell on top of her with her clumsy efforts. Slightly flustered by her mistake, she trembled a bit as she quickly reshaped herself into her uniform and before long was standing upright as control over her own shape came back to her as she woke up. Flan quickly checked herself in a mirror to make sure her uniform was unwrinkled and her body was correctly shaped as the proper slime maid she was. With a nod of satisfaction, she quickly went to greet her lord.

"Please forgive the delay Master Rodias, I will whip up a light snack for you right away!" Flan flashed her best smile and with a curtsey she quickly went to work. First she directed Master Rodias to a small table were she placed some crackers and aged cheese for him to much on while she prepared his real snack. As this was technically a midnight snack it had to be light but at the same time this was a rare opportunity to directly cook for her master so she wanted to show off a bit as well. Master Rodias was a Dhampire so of course whatever she made had to have meat, so she decided to get some mutton from cold storage.

Flan fired up the stove and placed the cold mutton in a skillet, she added a little water to help heat up the meat and add some moisture. As it cooked she added spices: salt, pepper, rosemary, cinnamon, thyme, sage, onions, and a hint of mint. Within a few short minutes, a wonderful smell wafted through the kitchen as she added a few finishing touches before putting the small mutton chop on a plate and drizzling it with some lime juice. The small mutton chop was moist and tender, spiced to perfection in order to entice the mouth to salivate in preparation for the joy it would bring to the tongue.

"I hope it is to you liking Master Rodias." Flan respectfully placed the tantalizing cut in front of him and started to twirl her 'hair' around with a finger as she waited for his verdict. Had she managed to impress him with her skills on such short notice? Had she been a little too ambitious and taken too long to prepare his dish. Flan waited with bated breathe at what Master Rodias would say to her.
@Saltwater Thief Good to see you, alive. Should have time to jump into the little cafe scene here before the jump to the next event.

Location: Angel City, Heaven's Rest Cafe - October 25, Friday
Event: First Meeting

Entity-chan's eyes twinkled as paintbrush guy, aka Nori Hirai, decided to gallantly pay for the treat with the stipulation of sharing it with him. "Why thank you Nori Hirai! I'll be sure to enjoy every bite!" Her eyes devoured the delicacy as it transferred hands. Meanwhile Liam got what Emily wanted and soon the group found themselves sitting around a table, Entity-chan wasted no time in splitting the expensive treat, not quite in half as the part Entity took was just slightly bigger, but very close nonetheless.

Entity's fork dove into the soft treat and soon the first bite entered Entity's mouth. The sweetness, the fruit, the tang, it all combined into a delectable explosion of taste, strong enough even for Entity-chan's imitation taste buds. A hand went up to her cheek in delight as the wonderful sensation of delicious food assaulted her senses. "Mmmh! Sooo Good!" Colored filled her cheeks as she indulged in the sensation.

"Well then, as much as I would love to interact and observe for hours on end I suppose I should apologize for getting you all involved." Entity-chan stopped eating for a bit and lowered her head down toward the table, but not low enough to squash her cake. "After all I could have easily not activated your magical abilities and you would have lived your lives none the wiser, never knowing the damage the monsters can cause. At the moment however, you all are the most attuned to their dimension and so it was quite easy to tweak out your abilities. That is part of the reason of course I'll be able to help your wishes come true after you have fought long enough." Entity-chan stayed bowed for a little bit longer before finally sitting upright again and gazed at each member for a few moments.

"As perhaps you might have guessed by now, a lot of unexplained accidents in the news can actually be traced back to monster activity. While it is yet impossible for a monster to stay in your world for very long, the more often a particular monster appears, the more likely their damage will translate over into real world effects. Mysterious car wrecks, gas explosions, missing persons, and the like are just a few of the consequences that can happen when a monster is left alone for too long. Thankfully the rate of appearance is not that high yet, but I have a feeling it will become more frequent rather quickly." The info dump given, Entity-chan returned to devouring her treat and making cute noises of satisfaction. Before long her plate was empty and her countenance turned a bit sour.

"That was a delightful experience, thank you for indulging me. I would say the next monster will come in about a month or so, so until then enjoy your lives!" With a start, she leaped up on the chair like a complete nut and raised a hand to the sky to gather attention. "Well then I must bid you all adieu for now, Ta Ta!" With a wave and a smile, Entity-chan's body glowed white, turned into a small white particle and flew away through the ceiling.

At first the owner was surprised by the site but as soon as she was completely gone, the look of shock vanished and they returned completely to normal, the memory of the girl vanishing completely from everyone's memory but the new young warriors around the table.
We'll move on to the next event in about a week to get things rolling again. Until then enjoy the cafe.

Flan had been quite surprised when she heard the summons from one of the bone staff. Normally a lowly chef would never be called to the throne room, but because she was over level 40 she had no choice but to attend. It was a bit disappointing to be called on such short notice which meant she had no time to prepare anything to take with her. As the head chef it would have been outrageous not to bring anything though, so she compromised by bringing along a tray of pre-prepared drinks and sweets, things that could be quickly devoured on the spot.

At the time of the summons she had been experimenting in the kitchen with leftovers, trying to see if it was possible to make a masterpiece from scraps. It was actually rather strange, she couldn't remember actually having leftovers before, in the past whatever had been made was either eaten up right away or put into storage for later. It was an entirely new experience for her and she was up for the challenge, though she was going to keep a mental note on who had leftovers on their plates from now on.

As befitted a member of her station, Flan kept to the side of the chamber, ready to move at a moments notice if called upon. As it turned out the contents of the meeting were quite dire, quite dire indeed. As the meeting was of a very serious nature no one had bothered to call on her services as their attentions were directed to Master Rodias and the new situation the Chateau found itself in. Of course all the members present had a wide variety of personalities, some serious and others rather flamboyant which made for quite a bit of tension in the room. Most of what they talked about she had no interest in, but at least Master Rodias had the sense to send the hunters to find livestock and the gardener to find plants they could use which would be much needed in the near future, but it wasn't enough, not even close.

Flan's hair tendrils started to shake with worry, how was she suppose to gather ingredients now? The Chateau had a nice garden where she could harvest plenty of produce but that would hardly be enough. If the Chateau was indeed placed on the top of a mountain where exactly was she to find food? Much less herbs and spices? Back in their world, Flan knew exactly where all the best ingredient gathering spots were, from herbs to wild berries and hunting grounds, but now she wouldn't have a clue where to find any of that! What if they started to run low on provisions, or worse yet, the spices and seasons that could make any dish something the tongue would crave to taste again? What use was a head Chef once she had no choice but to make bland meals and then the Chateau stopped asking for exotic dishes? Her reputation would plummet and she would be unable to meet the wants of her betters! Why in the world did they have to end up on top of a mountain of all places?!

"I must secure new supply routes for our kitchen as quickly as possible." She muttered to herself as she mentally tried to run the numbers through her head. Thanks to the Overflowing Wine Cask she could make their liquid reserves last for quite a while but unfortunately all of the highest quality items would be unable to have their lives extending in such a way so she would have to be careful with them. The gardens and the Self-Filling Bread Basket would help keep their stores from depleting too fast but without extra supplies coming in from outside, she had to estimate they would only be able to last for five months at their normal rate of consumption. It was a good thing a large portion of the staff didn't require sustenance, otherwise they wouldn't have even half that time.

At least a golden opportunity had prevented itself however. When Master Rodias had actually knelt down before them, it was easy to assume that the gravity of their situation was what had brought him to his knees. She had never once seen a creator act in such a humble way to their creations, it had been a strange sight for sure, certainly nothing like her own eccentric creator SlipperySavior. If the feeling of pressure was making him act out in such a way, there was no doubt she would be able to help out with some comfort food down the road. For a creator, she would spare no expense even at the cost of their own reserves; however, she needed to secure supply routes quickly so she would be free to spoil as many members of the Chateau as possible and gain their praise.

As master Rodias left, Flan felt that she needed to serve at least someone before she returned to the Kitchen. A quick look around the room and Flan instantly spotted the ones most likely to take up her offerings. Balancing the tray expertly, full of glasses of elderberry wine, white-powerdery tea cookies, and a few mandarins for those who preferred fruit for their sweets, Flan gracefully glided over Mistress Mamoru, Lady Kath, and Lady Ashara who had just managed to extract herself from Mamoru.

"If it would be your pleasure, perhaps a few refreshments before you leave for your most important missions? As much as it pains me to say I may not have the chance to indulge everyone like this for a while so I suggest you partake while you have the chance." Flan eyes misted up in regret at her much needed announcement and tears could be seen sparkling in the corners of her eyes. "I only hope I can be of help and support to everyone during this crisis."
