[[Disclaimer: I will be "in character" (so to speak) within the OOC, to add to the air of mystery and to immerse the players within the RP even more than a traditional one. The "in character" Ichthys (called The GM) is a middleman between the RP world and us; he breaks the 4th wall and has awareness of both the IC and OOC. Imagine him as as non living but sentient thing that lives between reality and the RP (like a virtual, RP Deadpool without the crazy). Please note that anything not within double brackets is to be considered "in character." Now, from henceforth, I am no longer just Ichthys, I am The GM.]]
Hello! I am The GM of this RP, which is ironically titled "Untitled." (That [01] simply means that this is the first installment of the RP.) This RP is intended to be a discovery for both the players and the characters, so I'm doing my best to keep you in the dark. That said, below is all the currently available information conveniently organized as a FAQ.

  • What is the setting of the RP?
The RP is set in modern day times in any general, westernized, first world country. However, the actual world can be considered a bit different than Earth, but those differences will not come into play just yet.

  • Can you give me any information on the history of the world? Any major events? Anything at all?
Yeah... NOPE! Besides, most of the good stuff hasn't been created yet. The actual RP universe is kind of like a coloring book that will be colored in by you guys, whether you are aware of it or not. That's not to say I don't have anything because I do. To reuse the coloring book comparison, I have created the black-and-white outlines, you guys have the colored crayons. You may choose to color one thing and not another, rip a whole page out of the book, and even make your own drawings on an empty page. But like any coloring book, it will also come to a clear, complete end.

  • What genre would you consider the RP to be?
All of the genres, hopefully. If this is done right, we'll experience a multitude of the genres at sometime or another. From drama and mystery, to fantasy, to sci-fi, to romance, to horror and more.

  • How is the RP going to be, in terms of how it will feel like?
This RP is supposed to work similar to a sort of "choose your own adventure" type of thing, but the similarities to that sort of genre are thin; it isn't a typical CYOA (with the apparent and clear choices, etc.) at all. Imagine it like a hybrid between an anthology and a continuum. Things may change to where is no longer feels like the same RP, but at the same time, it still is the same RP.

  • Any information on important aspects of the RP? For example, will things like supernatural creatures or magic or advanced weaponry or aliens come into play?
All I can say is, maybe.

  • Why is the character sheet so bare?
Considering the nature of this RP, a simple character is all you need for now. A history is also not necessary at the character's conception, and it is encouraged and expected that their past will be developed and created over the course of this RP.

  • What kind of character can I create?
Right now, you can only create a basic character (a base that will be built upon as the RP progresses). Your character may change as things progresses though. In other words, you can only create a human; your basic, cookie-cutter, regular John and Jane Doe. Though, through the course the RP, John Doe may have been an intergalactic vampire hunter hellbent on time travelling and Jane may have become a former serial killer turned investigative reporter who has had love affairs with ghosts.

  • So this RP is gonna be a crazy mess of random crap?
When looking at the big picture, it may seem like it, but in reality it isn't. All things will escalate and de-escalate and change and morph gradually. It won't be a simple slice-of-life in one round, then all of a sudden an alien invasion by the next round. I promise.

  • Are you aware that you are not actually real but a character yourself?
Yep, and you know you can do the same yourself. By that I mean being able to break the wall between the IC and OOC. Once you create your character, feel free to have your IC character put their two cents in the OOC, although anything that happens in the OOC cannot affect the IC at all. You may also not do the opposite, which is to have the real, OOC you affect the characters in the IC - that's my job as GM. The opportunity to have your character take part in the OOC is just for kicks-and-giggles. *giggles and kicks something*

  • Any last pieces of information?
Yes, but I'm not telling you off-the-bat, and, uhh... yeah, that's it.

Now, if you have any further questions, feel free to ask them! Just be aware that I may not answer them. Anyways, here's the character sheet.

I am still here. :D
Haven't heard from him. Maybe glib should PM him (if he hasn't already)?
I kinda want to create racial tension between the Pixies and Wisps since they're so similar but different. Pixies would make fun of wisps for being wingless and odd-colored, and wisps consider themselves more mentally developed. I think it would be fun. It'll contrast Needle and Lior even more than they already are too, like antithetical foils.
Or eat him. Or fear him. Whichever. :p Yeah, was very pleased with Delphi's song. Found it to be a great excuse to begin to unravel Lior's past. Plus, it'll also create a nice connection and relationship between the two, since Lior will probably cling onto to her for her ability to help him unlock the secrets in his mind. Well, once he realizes that it is her who caused the memory-song-thing. It'll also be a nice little thing to watch: a fomori and a fae (and a Grey Elf). What could possibly go wrong?
So far, Lior's attempts at eavesdropping were fruitless, dead leaves on empty plants. No one seemed to be saying anything of interest, or of value today. Lior's face rested on boredom and disappointment. His attention rolled back onto that of the solitary figure in armor; he didn't look friendly in the least. He also didn't look joyful either. Which caused the other was what Lior questioned. Was his unhappy because he was lonely, or was he alone because he was joyless? Whatever it was, he seemed interesting and out-of-place. It never occurred to the wisp that it was a Grey Elf. Their kind hardly ventured into the homely roots of Granny Oak.

Then, he was no longer lonely. The other figure of interest, the hooded woman, made her way over to the lonely man. Lior wondered if they were friends. He found it more likely that they were acquaintances of some sort; they were very similar to Lior. Both seemed to be hiding something, both seemed isolated and out-of-place, and they both interested Lior for these reasons. He was sure they were having a prearranged meeting. It seemed like the most logical thing to him. Still, a little eavesdropping could provide the answer to their relationship. Besides, he might be able to hear some pieces of valuable information because most meetings were of value anyways.

Lior didn't want to be obvious in his snooping, and unfortunately, they were too far for him to listen in well enough. Lior found himself in a predicament. If he came closer, he could be found out, but if he stayed where he was, he had the chance of missing the parts of importance. Lior mulled this over in his head, holding his arms out and symbolically weighing his options. It took him awhile. As a wisp, he was very meticulous and thoughtful; a natural scholar. This also made him a very long thinker, oftentimes taking much longer than others to make decisions because of his thoroughness. After a few moments of thought, he decided to stay where he was. The two were much larger than him, and if they become enraged at his espionage, they might do terrible things to him because of his small, vulnerable size. He feared the potential danger more than he desired the information. That said, he still listened in to the best of his ability, although he didn't get that much out of it. Only certain words made their way over to his ears, and most of the were pointless.

Lior laid back on the hanging lamp, deciding to take a break from his eavesdropping, his fruitless actions. He let his mind wander, when suddenly it wandered into an unknown territory at the cue of an unnatural but beautiful sound. A song that led his mind into the recesses of his lost memories. They were only glimpses, but the fragments weighed down on Lior and consumed him. The little wisp found himself lost in something he didn't know he remembered. He saw indescribable death and inexplicable fear. The rest was blurry and he couldn't make it out, yet he was still overcome with an unbearable sensation of fear and grief. For unknown reasons, Lior's eyes welled up with tears, and alone on a lamp, the wisp began to cry. No one below would notice, unless they were close and paying attention. Lior's groans and sobs were of mourning, but Lior didn't even know what he was mourning. He could only connect his emotions to those fragments of memories, if they were even memories and not his imagination. He couldn't stop though, as if his emotions knew more than his mind did, like they knew what those sudden images really meant.

Lior spent a good minute crying and contemplating, until he was able to regain control of his body. What had just happened? Where had the song come from? Lior became set on finding its source. Perhaps hearing the song again would help him get to the bottom of the mystery of his past. He needed to find out what had transpired. Lior perked up and looked around. Somehow, something within him guided his eyes back to the two hooded figures. Maybe they were the source? Lior was unsure; he would need to do more listening.
Sorry for my absence. I had some things to do. Expect a post tonight or tomorrow.
Banned for being blue da ba dee da ba die...
Lior didn't remember ending up in the presence of Granny Oak. He must've gotten lost in his thoughts again, for one moment he was meandering the alleys with no clear directive; the next moment he stood in the presence of the only sanctuary better than the sewers, and in the presence of the only thing that stood strong against the dark of the Blight and that never betrayed him like other Fae. It was Granny, the closest thing to family he had, which Lior was aware was a very pitiful fact. In her leafy arms, which swayed with an otherworldly life, other wisps spent their time, lighting up Granny with their Luminen. To Lior, Granny would always be his second home, where he felt secure and safe. Perhaps that's why he had made his way over to her; subconsciously, he longed to be back in her wooden arms, cradled from the decay of the world of Man. As he made his way closer to Granny, Lior reminisced on the times he had spent with her. He remembered the first time he had found about her.

It had been because of one of the few kindly Fae that Lior had become attached to - this was back when Lior was very quick to attach himself to someone, when he was codependent, when he was oft abused and manipulated. The Fae was a female goblin of very old age. Her name was hag and witch and ugly, to the masses, but to Lior, he knew her as Urania. She was already sickly when they first met, and though her body was scarred and hardened by the long struggle of the life she endured. Her heart and her eyes had remained resolute and soft, and she accepted Lior's presence when the wisp first began following her and taking whatever she left behind. One day, she led him to the tree, and introduced him to the wonders of Granny Oak. She encouraged Lior to float into her branches and spend some time there. As Lior departed, Urania said her goodbyes to the faery, thanking him for his company. She told him how she would be moving on to a better place, and that when Lior would come down from the branches, she would be gone. And her words remained true, for when Lior finally came back to realm of Man, Urania was gone to spend her last hours of life. It was a bittersweet moment, but since then, Lior has treasured Granny, if only just to honor Urania.

Lior walked over to the entrance of the Boggart's Hole, and he stared down the sprawling tunnel for a moment, entranced. The wisp always enjoyed going down into the Boggart's Hole. The loose lips of the Fae that spent their time down there always provided ample gossip. Some of the gossip was meaningless, but there was the occasional sliver of hearsay that was of interest to Lior - those whispers of the past or the discussions of another piece of literature that Lior should set out to find.

Lior began his way down into the Hole, staying tight against the wooden walls. He always feared he would be trampled by any of those entering and exiting, so he hugged the sides of the tunnel. Lior also took this time to brush his hands along the roots of Granny, gaining comfort from the wood. Lior thanked Dagda for Granny, and he wished blessings upon the tree. He was saddened a bit, while he wished a long life for Granny Oak, for he knew that she had already lived a long life. Her last days could be approaching soon, but at least her days already numbered many and they were all filled with joy from the Fae within her roots. After a journey that took a wisp much longer than other Fae, Lior finally wandered his way to Boggart's Hole, where the dim, purple lighting made the small one harder to spot than usual.

Immediately, Lior was surrounded by the sounds of the multitude of people talking, and almost trampled by the Fae who hustle-and-bustled their way around the watering hole. Not wanting to danger himself to the larger people that populated the Hole, Lior let himself free of the restraints of the physical realm. A white light began to pour out of the black wisp, as Lior flew upwards, above the masses and towards one of the hanging mana lamps. As he hovered inches above the lamp, he returned to the restraints of the universe and landed softly onto it. Lior was breathing heavily now and his hair was a bit more disheveled. A single sweat droplet made it's way down his forehead. In the confines of the Blight, transcending was very exhausting, although under the body of Granny, it wasn't as bad as normal. Her presence numbed the weakening effects of the Blight.

Lior sat down and took in his environment. He was a quiet observer, listening in on bits-and-pieces of the conversations below. He also left his eyes wander aimlessly, bouncing from person to person. His eyes halted for a moment on two separate individuals, when they arrived to them. One was a hooded figure in armor; his features were obscured and his face was down. The light also made him harder to distinguish. The other person was also hooded, although Lior could tell by the physique that it was a woman of some sort. Lior made the assumption that they were not the usual Elf or Satyr, which were the only Fae large enough to be of the two strangers' sizes. Lior paid extra attention to them, although he also kept switching his attention around to other groups, in order to pick up those pieces of information that he sought for.
I'm working on my post now. :)
