Yes I literally was about to send you a message telling you it looks like its probably gonna be a group but then my friend rushed me into a game on League!
So this looks like we have a small group, pretty nice. I guess we should go ahead and start discussing the actual classes? I was thinking split it up into like basic styles like.
Tanks:
Shieldmaster/maiden - Uses massive shields and heavy armor with large health pools to take damage and draw aggro. Basic tank.
Cleric - Uses heavy armor, self heals mostly but has a small amount of party buffs. Special damage to undead/evil enemies.
Champion - Wears light armor save for a massively heavy shield, adopting a gladiator style of fighting. Uses speed/evasiveness to avoid the damage while using counter attacks to debuff the enemy. Inflicts highest level of damage for a tank but has the lowest survival rate.
Divine Guardian/Holy Knight/Paladin - Uses magical abilities to give themselves and their parties buffs while wearing extremely durable armor. Inflicts almost no damage but can easily counter most forms of attacks with his magic.
Physical DPS
Rogue/Assassin/Ninja/Shinobi/thing - Uses speed, evasiveness and high levels of damage to eliminate enemies through ambushing.
Lancer/Dragoon - Uses a massive polearm or 2handed weapon to inflict high levels of damage, something of an off-tank compared to other DPS.
Martial Artist - Highest level of damage on average, wears little to no armor using speed and pure power to inflict close range damage (maybe instead of skills a martial artist could have 'styles' using something inspired by animals/elements/random things in nature ie rising sun-style, turtle-style, fire-style.
Ranger - Utilizes bows(guns maybe if you guys want?) to spray large amounts of constant physical damage or critically strike targets in specific spots.
Magic DPS
Blue Mage - A medium range caster, uses a variety of crowd control, aoe and spamming based spells. (Uses wands and such. Maybe shields.)
Red Mage - The long range mage, uses powerful spells with high cooldowns and long casting time yet causes high amounts of damage to reign mayhem. (Long staves, think Merlin?)
Spellsword/Battle Mage - Uses a combination of magical infused weapons(swords, hammers or staves mostly) to inflict high magical damage at a close range. Almost 0 defensive capabilities.
Spellthief/Shadow Mage - A mixture of an assassin and mage, uses magical poisoning abilities combined with a variety of stealthy weapons to inflict damage. Can use spells to help find better loot, locate traps and do everything a regular rogue can while holding knowledge in the arcane field. Lacks the speed and evasiveness of a regular rogue.
Support
White Mage/Priest/Priestess - Strongest healer, tons of buffs and support abilities. Does little to no damage aside from powerful stuns.
Black Mage/Warlock - Provides debuffs, magical poison and status inflicting spells along with more 'darker' magics (ie necromancy, curses, bone-based spells.)
Brown Mage/Druid - The most broad class. Slight amount of heals and support abilities, while carrying a variety of summoning possibilities, both offensive and defensive nature-based magic, roots/stuns along with polymorph spells.
Commander - Something of an off-tank, the Commander has tons of buffing and debuffing abilities to use against enemies. Generally leaders, they gain bonuses of all kinds depending on party sizes.
I wanna hear your ideas of classs, I don't wanna stick to the typical knight, rogue, mage, cleric group and I want classes to feel like they have a specific style of play? I'll be honest I don't like almost any of the names I picked for these classes so I really wanna hear your guys input. Maybe depending on your play style the class name could change? For example a rogue who focuses more on getting loot, trap setting/locating and those means could be known as a thief while more damage-oriented characters would be named assassins/shinobis? That way we wouldn't constantly run into the same enemies, there would be knights, samurais, ninja, tons of mages, idk!
