Red Winston
The sound of the siren was something that Red wouldn't forget, even if he didn't possess limitless memory. He could swear that from all the waking up methods humanity has discovered over the years, this was by far the worst. He wished that the sound came from an alarm clock so he could reverently send it to its final destination- out of the window. He was sure that Jake would thank him if that was the case, considering he didn't do the same thing himself. Cursing the more than annoying sound, he lifted his body from his bed and scratched his head. It was 7 sharp. He was still sleepy, having to seperate much of the school's gossip he heard on the boat, the Cafeteria and the Administration Room, forcing him to sleep at around 2am. Sleeping for a few hours affected his brain speed, after all. He once again cursed.
He tidied up his bed, brushed his teeth and checked himself on the mirror. He made an imaginative list of what he had to do before going to the education building.
"Shower, hair-gel, gray vest and pants, blue shirt, black shoes, no tie, out of the room, cigarette, food, coffee, cigarette, lesson."
He was incapable of using more than nouns before having a coffee to wake him up. That applied to when he was talking to someone. Red could be the most insociable person when he was drowsy, a thing that he showed when answering to Jake.
"Cafeteria, later." was what he said to Jake before he left the room.
He followed his schedule exactly as planned, up to the point where he left the room. The difficult part was next. It was 7:30 and Red needed to smoke, but, in contrast to yesterday, the full force of the staff was out there and he was too sleepy to find a place to hide. So much for smoking was what he tried to say to himself, but didn't have the energy to. Once again, he cursed. What Red hated the most was getting out of schedule, especially if there was nothing he could do to get back on track. If he could help it, he would lock every last staff member and teacher for ten minutes, smoke and then let them out again, just to make sure that his plans were not messed up. =
Unfortunate that he couldn't enjoy a cig, he skipped to the Cafeteria. Students have already gathered there and the line to the buffet was long. One more day of him listening to unnescessary gossip, which would subsequently lead to him sleeping less hour to sort it out. There were probably familiar faces in the Cafeteria already, but he didn't try to look for anyone, instead getting a tray with food and coffee and sitting on a random table, not even considering looking if anyone was sitting there or not. The only thing he needed to do now was to wake up. Aside from that, anything else came in second. He took a sip of coffee and a bite off a toast. It was the only thing he could focus on, right now.
Christopher Fox
Chris woke up at 6:15. He didn't want to risk Valjean waking up while he was in the room, he would most probably be irritating. Chris would most probably have to listen to this oversized gorilla for most of the day, so he didn't want to have to have the same thing happening in his room. For once, though, Valjean didn't wake him up during the night, but it was apparently because he didn't see him sleeping. He might not have come to the room at all for all Chris cared - and hoped. But, to his annoyance, Valjean was on his bed, snoring like a buffalo. Not that he expected less.
It was his Extreme Makeover- Academy 218 Edition day. He had the chance and the tools to take care of himself for once in over a decade. Chris wasn't a man to be concerned with fashion, but he knew how to take care of himself in order to look good, or at least better than he was right now. He combed his hair straight and tied them in a ponytail (like David Beckham a football player he admired) and also cut his beard, making it even and better-looking. He considered shaving, but then, his skinny face would stand out too much. After that, he brushed his teeth, showered and used all the nescessary cosmetics (deodorant, perfume). He also had some clothes in his room. T-shirts, short-sleeved shirts, anything he was normally wearing in the past, probably Henry's doing. His attire today included a pink Hawaiian shirt, jean bermuda shorts and a pair of sandals. Just like the old times. Cold was never an issue for Chris, so he would dress lightly the whole year, even if it meant he would get sick or frostbite. He just didn't feel right with heavy clothing.
After grooming himself, he once again checked the clock. 6:50. Right on time. He left the room, leaving poor Valjean to wake up by the savage and merciless sound of the siren, which was forged in the depths of Hell. He knew first hand how badly the siren sounded. In the past, he was thinking very seriously of using his powers to pluck it out and into the depths of the ocean, a thing that he would have already done if it wasn't for Adam, this damn son of a...he didn't want to finish his thought.
It was 7 o'clock. Chris had already closed his ears, so the siren wasn't as unbearable as it would be if he was sleeping. Not wasting his time, he headed to the Cafeteria, where he was one of the first people to come. The others had just woken up and probably wouldn't be there yet. On the contrary, most of the staff was already awake and eating, much to his dismay. Most of the people knew who he was and what he had done. That made him feel uneasy. He was lucky enough to see Henry among the staff and talk to him or so he thought. Before giving Henry a signal, he was already gone. Not having anyone to talk to, he decided to fill his tray with as much food as he could. Even though his appetite was still miniscule, he thought that since he had a lot of time, maybe he could try to eat some more.
He sat on the furthest table from both the entrance and the buffet, to minimize the chance of someone joining him. He gave much thought about what occured with Vespera yesterday and decided not to open up too much to her in the future. She wanted to be a different woman and he wasn't going to stop her. Besides, he was to vulnerable right now to keep up with her current confidence and character. He would be willing to help her change if she wanted to, but it wasn't the case. From the way Henry spoke to her last time, she had apparently adapted this personality for some time and for her to still retain it, she must have been enjoying it. He considering keeping an eye on her for her safety in secret, but he rejected the idea, remembering that Vespera had a way to know about who was near her. Probably something related to her ability. In any case, he wasn't planning on looking for Vespera today, preffering to ask Henry's opinion on the matter. Henry was always the wise one of the duo, even when it came to love. If he wasn't for the scales, he would probably be Mr. Academy 218. Actually, Chris was pretty much sure that Henry could easily beat any reptile in a beauty contest. The idea made him laugh a bit.
The Cafeteria started filling with people, with Chris looking for Henry. But with the crowd getting bigger, his vision was limited and couldn't locate his friend, if he was here at all.
