Jack woke up from the explosion caused by Allen, but still unable to move due to the fatigue. However, he had no idea what preceded a few moments ago, nor he could turn around to check out what happened to the armored Vitus that assaulted them. Was it dead? Are the others fighting it? It was too quiet, so Jack concluded that they beat it, from the fact that he was still alive and in the same place he lost consciousness. Then he heard Al mumbling something, but his ears were buzzing a bit. The only thing he heard was Al's question to him, in which he joked:

"I am not entirely sure yet...If numb limbs, buzzing ears, tremendous fatigue and a terrible headache cut it as being alive, then yeah, I am!"

He took a breath and continued:

"The fire wolf gig was cool, but next time, assaulting the Vitus without tactics is a no-go!"
"Thanks for the refill, mate! I need to catch up with your name, as soon as we rip this guy out from his fashion design!" Jack responded and tumbled, getting as many shards as he could from the floor.

Before he could realize, though, his breathing got heavier, although he did not move that fast. Sure, he didn't know the toll his powers had on him, but it ought to be something more. He was unable to figure it was Al who used up most of the oxygen in the area. His thoughts were interrupted by Al's new attack. However, before it was initiating, Blaze noticed that Al was sweating and breathing heavily maybe shaking as well. Then Al charged forward.

"That idiot! Being exhausted and going on a frontal assault!"

He followed Al, but his flames were too hot even for his heat resistance. His vision became blurry and he was trying to remain conscious.

"So it was Al's powers that consumed the oxygen in the area...Combined with the heat, I don't know how long I can hold on, so I better make this count!"

Jack dashed through the flames and in front of the Vitus, gaining some burns. He pushed Al back, ignoring his fire wolf form, to protect him from what was coming next.

"Guys, it's up to you now!" he yelled and touched the Vitus' armor.

The armor turned bright red and exploded, exposing the Vitus. However, the explosion was bigger than Jack thought and he was pushed back by the blast. He fell on the floor breathing heavily.

"That took care...of his armor...only the weapons... left...But...I am beat, so... you guys...better smack him one...for me too!" he said and lost consciousness.
"Nice to meet you Al! Man, are you on fire today!" he said trying to crack a joke amidst the situation they were in.

Jack kept throwing the glass shards, turning many Vitus to dust along the way. However, he couldn't predict that the Vitus would be too many for the number of shards he had picked. He was left with only one shard, trying to figure out how to make the best use of it. Then he tried something in hopes that it would work. He threw the last shard to the ceiling of the passage in the backlines of the Vitus, causing it to fall fown on them and block the Vitus' way for some time.

"Guys, it could really help if you could blast the cuties in the front quick, so I can get some more ammo to use, before they manage to clear the passageway of the rubble and come again!" he said aloud.
Jack couldn't let the others risk their lives holding off the Vitus, while he was running away. He turned to Sky and said:

"You should follow the others to the bridge, princess! I will give a hand to the other two!"

Then, he took a place among the other two guys that defended the passage.

"Mind if I join you, gentlemen? A game is more fun with more people joining it!", he said and threw three shards of glass that exploded upon contact with the Vitus, obliterating 6 or 7 of them.

"Oh and, if by anyway we don't make it, I am Jack, international poker player!" he said and laughed.
Hope you are all right and kicking now makarov! :D
Jack took the lead, so he would protect Sky from any Vitus that happened to be on the way. He concluded that his abilities were more offensive than hers, so he had to take the Vitus on without leaving her exposed. The smell became more apparent as they rushed forward. Sometime later they encountered a group of people, one of them with burns on her legs.

"Is everything all right?" Jack asked.
Jack steadily moved throughout the ship, waiting for a response to Sky's call. He wandered how big was the ship. The lack of Vitus still made no sense, something that bugged him. Jack assumed that if there were humans moving freely in the ship, they would be once again restrained and taken back to their confinement, these horrific tubes. So the only logical explanation he could come up with was that any human they would encounter would have some kind of ability that would help them go head to head with the Vitus, much like his own ability.

"If the Vitus are responsible for this development, then this is a prime example of misusing a good hand...Who would have thought that we would be able to stand up to them, thanks to their own atrocities..."

The thought made Jack smirk a little. Not that he liked being an experiment and having freaky powers, but if he could blast some Vitus with them then he could deal with it. His thoughts were interrupted by the faint smell of burning flesh.

"Hey, I smell something-or someone-burning...Should we follow the smell?" he said to Sky.
"It's not like the ship is going to crash or something, right? At least we know there are others and they are alive, assuming you can hear them..." Jack responded as he followed Sky's signal.

It was quite strange that they did not encounter any Vitus on their way. It was their ship after all and he imagined that it would be flooding with them now that there were escapees inside. Not that it wasn't convinient. A young girl was hurt and Jack would prefer to avoid endangering her. Then he remembered.

"By the way, I can do this!" he said and threw a glass shard than exploded in a nearby wall, blasting it away.

"If it can by any means help you, like creating a shortcut to the source of the sounds you hear, or make them any louder, I could just tear some more of this place. Besides, the decoration does not suit my taste!"
"I didn't have a name until I was four...pretty inconvinient I have to admit. So I named myself after a card I won from an old man ripping his customers off their money...this one!"

Jack showed his worn out Jack of Spades card, his valuable treasure.

"Now that I think about it, I wouldn't be a world-famous poker player if not for this card! Strange twist of fate!" he said and briefly laughed.

Jack noticed that Sky's steps were becoming less random by every passing second, figuring out that she may have seen or listened to something he did not.

"I assume you found out something, Sky?"
"I can't leave alone a damsel in distress alone, can I? I am Jack Spade! But I guess that we should have a proper greeting in a safer place...Our hosts don't know how to treat their guests after all..." he said, trying to ease the girl's tension an subconsiously his own. The girl seemed exhausted and Jack thought of asking her to carry her, but he figured that he shouldn't touch the girl now that she was so upset. He would probably scare her. He instead said in a reassuring tone:

"Walk at any pace you like...I will make sure to get us out of here and, hopefully, we might find other people as we head out...But in any case, stay close to me!"
