NAME: Morven Talathrien
GENDER: Female
DESCRIPTION:Morven is a tall, rather willowy elf who looks as if a strong breeze would knock her over. Pale skin bears the marks of many battles and adventure with bite wounds from wolves, scars from blades and fire and other miscellaneous scratches covering her body from a life well lived. While her facial features are somewhat blocked out by the eye-catching vallaslin on her face, they are sharp, angular and typically elven. Morven has mundane brown eyes. At 45 years old, her hair is beginning to go white in places, though most of it is still dirty blonde and tied up in a long braid that reaches her lower back.
Her armour is not really armour at all but robes made of cotton, leather and fur. They are stained with various shades of green and brown and can easily blend into the background of a forest. Twine holds them closed in place of buttons or ribbon. Morven carries with her a handmade staff as a weapon, ornately carved with sigils for each of the Dalish gods (including Fen'Harel); however, stashed on her belt is a skinning knife to be used in the direst of emergencies.
As a Dalish mage, Morven's skills mostly pertain to the earth, blood magic, and occasionally hexes. While she is fairly decent with the wider abilities of magic – fire, runes and the like – she looks down on them with disdain as she perceives it is only the Circle mages who use them. During her years travelling as a lone Grey Warden, she has been researching the ancient elven path of the Arcane Warrior, and feels she is on the edge of a breakthrough in the field.
Morven had once been the First of the now-extinct Talathrien Clan, child of a Dalish Hunter and a city elf; however, at the tender age of twenty five (much too young) she was forced to take up the mantle of Keeper due to an unfortunate incident claiming the life of her master. Despite the stress of the position, she gave it her best shot, but juggling care for the large group as well as her two children, one of them a mage, proved to be too much for her.
When her oldest daughter turned to demonic influences, perhaps out of a lack of attention from her mother, Morven was left to hunt her down alone and stop her from terrorizing the human towns with no help from her unsupportive clan. After finding and ending her in Denerim, she opted to be recruited into the Grey Wardens rather than persecuted as a lone apostate by the Templars. It has been fifteen years since she became a Warden and just as long since her clan scattered to the wind.
